It’s funny you mentioned his fingers. I met him in a bar in Burlington Ontario back in 1997. One of the first things that I noticed about him was that his fingers were so long but they were twisted from years of injuries. His head was also much bigger than the average person. He was around 54 when I met him and he looked like he could destroy anyone in that bar. He was way wider and thicker than the bouncers.

@@OptimisticMansion-yl1wq Back in 1983, just months before he got hit with a murder charge, Snuka came to town( Syracuse NY) and chaos ensued. After his match he hit several bars and then wound up at the Airport hotel. Soon the sounds of a lady creaming for dear life was heard coming from Snuka's room and the local police were alerted, photographer's and news people were on the scene before the police arrived. They knew Snuka was in town and wanted an interview. Snuka refused to open the door for the police and they tried to break it down with Snuka on the other side of it holding it closed. Finally he let them in , 9 officers and two dogs. Snuka, all coked up and roid raged , started playing the heel and of course a fight began. Snuka threw the cops around like rag dolls, several of the cops were injured with broken hands and fingers , the dogs got so freaked out that they started biting the cops and helping Snuka. It was a huge embarrassment for the local police as the newspaper was plastered with photos of them getting thrown and laying on ground stunned. The hotel room was utterly destroyed as several cops got thrown right through the studs and drywall. It was the biggest thing that happened in years there. End result was that Snuka had to plead guilty, pay a fine and make a large donation to the Ronald McDonald Cancer recovery home for kids. The powers that be wanted him out of town fast with the promise never to return. I'll never forget this as it was the period my friends and I were really into the WWF and Snuka proved he was the real deal by tuning up 9 of the local cops. Nowadays they wouldn't even dare enter a room with someone like that, they would fire tear gas in and then shoot him on sight the second he came out. Ahh...the good ol' days !

@gnrvintagediecastracing79789 ай бұрын
The large muscles started to come in during the Billy Graham era. Not many, a guy here and there. In the 60s and early 70s, you don't see it, by the 80s and to the early 90s it was from superstart to jobber with large mass. Then slowly worked its way back out of the system in the ensuing decades. Most of the guys in the 80s died in the 40s to 50s with steriod related causes.. the list is long. Where as prior to that plenty of non heavy set wrestlers lived into their 80s. Its a good thing the wrestles don't need to be juiced in order to watch them.

People tend to appreciate the athleticism involved in performing these stunts because it’s still dangerous, regardless of the predetermined and worked outcomes. Most professional wrestlers have suffered real injuries and are broken down after retirement, from years of taking bumps. It’s an exhibition yes, but most people can’t survive the rigorous schedule of absorbing slams, so I think fans respect their ability to perform.
