Having a late-night gig with Conan O'Brien has made Jimmy Vivino one of the most visible guitarists on television. For the past 17 years, he's played blues licks and songs by The Clash (Conan's favorite band) on his trusty Les Paul and has acted as bandleader when drummer Max Weinberg went off to play with his old pal, Bruce. But Vivino's talents aren't confined to playing Conan in and out of commercials (which he will continue to do on O'Brien's new TBS show). A well-respected guitarist, Vivino has played in bands with Al Kooper, backed up Ronnie Spector and is part of the cleverly named Beatles tribute group The Fab Faux. He recently sat down in Gibson's New York showroom to discuss Conan, The Allman Brothers and his blues guitar idol -- Mike Bloomfield.
