One superb rest shot does not prove that White played auperbly in the 1993 world championship in that he would have beaten each of the other 15 in the top half of the draw no matter who he faced had he faced somebody else instead. The fact that Bond in 1995 and Ebdon in 1996 in the world championship finals did better than White did in the 1993 world championship final shows how poorly White did in the 1993 final.

I know. Just one or two flashes of brilliance. White conceded he had not played well throughout the championship.

Form isn’t static. Every match is different. A lot depends on your opponent too. It was the 5th of 6 final defeats there and his worst.

@@languageoffootball That's what I keep saying. Nobody's in peak form in every round of every tournament they play, not even in all of the big events. Not even Hendry. You'd never have imagined that White would hsve been hammered to the extent he was in the 1993 world champilnshp finsl, but he was. But White was surpuñrisingly the only plsyer that Hendry smashed wlth a session to spare that year considering that it happened which would have came as a shock ss to some becaude Hendry did not smash Morgan, Bond or McManus with a session in the earlier rounds what they probably automatically assumed that he would have done. But as I keep saying it's all about trying to peak for long enough at the right time. Hendry did that year, White didn't peak at all, or at least for not for long enough and certainly not at the right time.
