Definitely very nice scooter. I tested one of their versions last year at rider fest 2023 back In October. Apollo Definitely knows how to package their stuff way better than Segway and thats coming from a GT1 owner. I definitely will be picking up an Apollo Pro once i Pay Off my Inmotion RS Midnight which is another beast of a scooter. Great review as always guys. 😎👊👍

lmao you joking right ? i have the Gt2 and the pro v7 right there in the house and apollo is far behind segway in term of build quality ! ride experience ! and light years ahead in customer services ! i took them both for a quick spin yesterday back to back and apollo is slower in everyway, it doesnt feel safe at high speed at the second you take an incline or a turn due to the 'balloon' tires the app crash always iphone users get the update decades later than android . the battery they claim is so good is loosing its charge while sleeping where segway stay solid as a brick even a full month without touching it feel safe even at 110kmh like .. the only reason i have the pro its because its ip66 and i tought i would get it for christmass but hey thats an other story !

@ElectricWayGt2 if your talking about the Packaging like i stated in my comment, then no im not joking. The Packaging from Apollo is better lol. When it comes to ride quality, i cant say much about it other than what i experienced briefly during my quick test ride. As for speed woobles, like my $4,000 inmotion RS, not everyone is experiencing speed wobble but i did and did a mod recently to solve that problem. And i also recall saying this is coming from a "GT1" owner not GT2. 😅🤦‍♂️

@OhGawdHesGotAGun

Agreed. I went from an Apollo Ghost to an Apollo Phantom, and you kind of have to have a frame of reference. I'd like to see a visual on how large the scooter is compared to, say, the trunk of a car, across the back seat of a common car size, etc. Ground clearance is something that tends to go up, especially with 12" tires. Anyone who's ridden through parking garages will learn how to duck one way or another!

I have the scooter. When you have the throttle all the way down it brings you to 39-40. When you hit 40 and are cruising at 40 for a few seconds, release the full throttle pressure for a brief moment. Then hit the throttle all the way. It will then accelerate to the 43-44mph.

@hhova29 Happy to help! The ride is truly effortless. The inputs are intuitive, and there is never a moment where I'm surprised by how the scooter reacts to what I ask of it. At this price point there are scooters that are faster, have more powerful brakes, and accelerate quicker ( like the new phantom 2.0). The reason why I will keep this longer than other scooters I own is because its emphasis on build quality and seamless riding experience makes it a joy every time I take it out. If I were giving it a grades it would be A+ ride quality A+ user experience, B+ acceleration, B brakes, B- weight, A++ confidence on night rides.

I don't know if the materials and design justifies the price when the performance metrics are what they are. Even Segway, with their GT2 saw the writing on the wall and you can find it at $2500. I know both aren't chasing the top performance numbers, but to command premium pricing you need to be in the ballpark.

finally a review of the pro :) I think it's an ok scooter but their asking price is too much, especially since it's so close specs wise to their phantom scooter... so essentially you're paying over $1k extra for a new design and lights... and I regret my decision of not getting the phantom instead but some other downsides I've noticed after 2 months: -Suspension is too stiff for my weight(200lbs), I can feel every little bump on the road, comparing it to my Kaabo GTR it feels like riding on a cloud -Using the same awful folding mechanism, your life relies on a thin piece of metal to stay intact with all of the vibrations/bumps -We need a dust cover on the stem folding button, I'm glad you guys mentioned it As for the creaking noise, I had the same issue on my city pro and apollo recommended me to put lithium grease in the stem so I'd guess it's the same for the pro

Thanks for the review guys. There are some thoughtful design elements I can appreciate on this like the center kickstand, the place to mount And charge your phone, and That large light upfront for a better visibility during the daytime, but that Segway GT2, though! I think it's about twice the acceleration at around four seconds to 30 mph, more than twice the adjustability in suspension with greater travel front and rear, what appears to me to be at least double the build quality and appearances, a more area to stand and for only $2500 right now. Personally I would rather use my Bose mini speaker. Speakers can be fragile. If or when the speaker membranes tear on that scooter, it might good place for water to get in.

Wish it had disc brakes. Maybe a bit more adjustability on the cockpit but they are so set on internally wiring as much as possible. Luckily the regen brings a lot of the downsides of drums to be less relevant so I can kind of look past it. I am ok with the battery size because that is part of what keeps the weight down to something more manageable, I'll take 30lbs off my scooter for an extra 20 miles I probably won't use. Rarely do I ride my scooter for more than 20 miles at a given time. 30 is even less likely. The scooter can still do more than that so I can't complain.

The Ghost is considerably faster to 50km/h than the Phantom, but the Phantom starts pulling away after 50, albeit slowly. I'm hauling about 35lbs more in gravy & ice cream, so we traded to make sure. Ghost STILL faster to about 45km/h before the Phantom took over. No comparison, the Phantom is better, but the Ghost is faster to 50, more nimble & a lot lighter. 15:56 Hey "ninja" you have a fairly sophisticated following at this point, with way more veterans that you have noobs saying: "for a lot less money you can get a faster scooter." That's not the complaint however. You just showed us a $3500 scooter that fell 5mph short of its STATED top speed. Rather than making a big deal about a possible issue that hasn't happened yet, involving sand with the latch, I think you should have taken Apollo to task for the "ludicrous" speed shortcoming. Both of you just blew right over it and then offered and excuse later with the luxury car example. Furthermore, it's not only the issue with "how fast it goes" (top speed)... it's performance in general. When you factor in other things like acceleration, braking distance and range, it comes up short everywhere. As an off the cuff 52v example, I just took possession of a RS5 Max which beats the V7 to 30mph by 2.2sec and to 40mph by 5sec while out braking it by several feet. The V7 is also out-ranged by the RS5 Max's 1664Ah LG battery. Not implementing disc brakes is inexcusable despite the reliability advantages. After all, with regen brakes that work so well, you're disc brake pads aren't going to be a big wear issue anyway but the best possible stopping performance is there if you need it. To a veteran scooter guy like myself, the V7 is a sexy, high quality, flop, unfortunately. Could it be attractive at $500 less? ...possibly. The issue is that you have models like the Nami Klima Max that come in at $2700 and perform like a Ferrari, being faster, quicker accelerating, shorter braking, longer range, 19lbs lighter, more refined suspension and with it's own signature look... not unlike Apollo with it's own signature look. Do I like the look of the V7 more, yes but having the edge in appearance can't overcome all of the shortages in other areas... even apart from the price differences.

I know 3 people who have the Pro & they've all had theirs going > 80km/h. I have a Phantom with a top speed of 63km/h, mine's been to 71km/h without being in 'ludo' mode. They must have had the top speed limited, which it likely is by default. Not that the Pro is a rocket, it could be a better performer - but it's not a 'performance' scooter - it's about low maintenance, worry-free riding. Nothing like a Klima for acceleration @ that price & I think the Namis are much prettier. Hydraulic brakes are effective for sure, but I've got Nutt hydraulics on my Apollo Phantom & only use them for high speed emergency braking. Regen is just so much better for all except unplanned stops at high speed. Once you wear the drum brakes in, they'll lock up just fine if that's what you want. Yeah, hydraulics are the best - but you don't get the scraping of dirty brake discs or have to replace the pads as often. Depends what you want - but everyone I spoke with who ended up buying a Pro admits to liking the drum brakes. The batteries having UL Certification will be a big deal soon, especially for losers like myself who live in apartments not houses. None of Nami's lineup has UL cert'd batteries. Most people don't care, but that was the main reason I'm not getting a Klima. The LUDO feature isn't that much of a boost, I got my top speeds on my scooter in regular mode - LUDO comes in handy when you're low on battery & need torque - the controller tells the battery to send more torque to make up for it. I never found LUDO to help to increase any top speed. The Pro will definitely hit 80kmh (50mph) & not only downhill. 300lb rider ain't touching that, and wind can affect top speed. I'm telling you stuff you know already - but there's always a tradeoff. I like the 12" tires, I like the IP66, but for $4300 CDN, I'd like more acceleration/range. The Klima is faster yeah, but it's only 3lbs lighter than the Apollo Pro (90lbs vs. 93lbs).

@freshlycharged 8 ай бұрын
These are all very good points. We were able to get the scooter up to 45 mph after messing with the settings, so we didn't focus on why our first speed runs didn't hit the 44 mph top speed. There are definitely a lot of other options out there for those looking for speed and longer range, but there are few scooters with the same type of design and features. The Segway GT2 is probably the closest in design and build quality, but also falls short on top speeds and battery size. The RS5 looks like a nice scooter but we will not support Roadrunner due to them threatening to sue us for stating in our LS7+ review that it was marketed as the fastest non racing scooter, even though it was on their website. We have also had other issues with Roadrunner but it could end up being a novel if we wanted to air it all out. The biggest issue we have is they are faking positive reviews by having family members and content creators make them to counter their negative reviews. They pick and choose who they want to help and it is solely based on the owner, Dale, and if he likes how you approach him.
@Patriot36
@Patriot36 5 ай бұрын
@@freshlycharged Yes, understood, Dale sounds like a real piece of work. The idea wasn't to sidetrack the main thought by highlighting any particular scooter. Since I own some nice riding, dual motor scooters, like the RS5 Max, Klima, Mantis King GT, VSett10+ the point was simply to say that as nice as the V7 is from a quality standpoint, it's 50-80% more expensive than some scooters that clock it from a performance standpoint, acceleration, braking, range, etc, as well as some areas like suspension sophistication. The V7's suspension just isn't in the same arena as the Klima or it's larger brothers, the Mantis King GT, or even a GoTrax GX3 with quadruple KKE adjustable rebound dampeners. Regarding the brakes, it's not just that they aren't discs... by their very nature, they're not even hydraulic. So the braking performance isn't very impressive and the braking feel is that of any other cable actuated system out there. It is what it is. Again, had this model come in at a $3k price point, it would be a lot easier to stomach. Glad to hear you sorted out the speed test... might be worth annotating in your video. It's possible I missed it if you had.

@Patriot36 5 ай бұрын
@@OhGawdHesGotAGun Nice to know that it will actually go 44-45mph. That's a big plus! I see that Freshly Charged mentioned this in a comment below. 1 point back to the Pro. The Klima has a stated weight of 79lbs. Just weighed it on a bathroom scale and electronic shipping scale 83.2lbs and 83.8lbs. ESG scooters weighed it at 84lbs. The Apollo Pro has an ESG tested weight of 95.2lbs. All that to say that the actual difference is about 12lbs, not 3lbs. You basically made my point about hydraulic discs being appropriate on the Pro at this price point, with the inclusion of regenerative braking. Just like your Phantom, you'll hardly ever use the discs because of regen YET they're there for the sheer and in some cases, life saving performance when necessary. Also, it's not just the stopping performance but the brake feel on a premium scooter is important unless you turn a blind eye. The cable actuated drums of the Pro have about the same brake 'feel' as my Emove Cruiser S.... without the benefit and stopping performance of the discs. I find this inexplicable on a scooter of the Pro's price point. The UL certification is nice but other scooter manufactures are joining. The GX3 for example, a $1700 is UL certified so even companies like GoTrax are doing this. The same goes if the IP66 rating which is even available on the lowly Punk Riders now. In any case, the idea behind my post isn't to say the Pro is bad and recognize that you enjoy yours. I personally just find it lack luster at it's price point. I like a nice looking scooter, but I'm not willing to give up so many areas of performance to have it. If the Pro carried a $3000 price tag, I'd have a lot more trouble putting up an argument against it.

@@Patriot36 I was just having this conversation today - my brother has a Phantom as well, and it's just a creaking mess that loses like 20% of their 50psi every two days. I look after mine better, always tightening bolts, spraying white lithium grease on the suspension & hubs & stem joints, topping off the tires every day, etc... I've got 3200 kms on mine & I've never had a flat tire - but the tires are its weakest point. We're both considering upgrades, and we have to do our own soul searching for top speed & acceleration, but my priority for brakes has shifted - I don't want to touch non-regen brakes unless I need to. Dedicated regen is perfect for me as a primary. I don't want to wear down brake pads unless I need instant stopping. I use my hydraulics once every 10 rides or so except for a test stop. Everyone I spoke with who owns the Pro, tells me the drum brakes are a completely different experience when they're broken in. I also don't believe they can compete with hydraulics, but the maintenance-free approach is warranted. I rely on my hydraulics so little, I can't make the drum brakes a negative priority. No question, hydraulics are ideal - I'm like 200lbs so being a 300lb missile is not very drum brake'ish. I want to be able to fold the scooter up & lift it into my car if I want. I can handle lifting any of these, but heavier than that could be a problem. I know the real-world weight is heavier for some reason, but this is just to compare their *claimed* weights with each other. Phantom: 77lbs. Klima: 80lbs Pro: 93lbs. Burn-E2 Max: 103lbs Segway GT2: 115lbs Wolf King GT Pro: 115lbs The Klima seems to be, pound-for-pound, the best all-rounder....but the stuff I like about the Pro, I don't want to do without - dedicated regen, 12" tires, UL certification, vertical throttle lever, IP66 so it's safe in a downpour. But for $4k CDN, the Pro should have a wee bit better top end. I don't think scooters are safe at speeds over ~60km/h unless conditions are ideal, but that doesn't mean I don't want another 10km/h. My favorite scooter right now is the Nami Burn-E2 Max - but it needs to evolve. It hasn't changed enough in the last two years. It'll cost me $1500 more for the BurnE2 Max than the Pro. Lack of UL cert isn't a prob now, but it could be, on my landlord's whim. Still, though - 100km/h? Yes please! Safe or not, need or not, that's some serious performance! It's also the best looking by far. I find the Pro to look a little Stalin-esque, like tacky 1980s furniture. Too chunky.

For scooters in this price range (over $3,000), it would be reasonable to expect at least four dedicated buttons on the handlebar for selecting riding modes, Cruise, and so on. I'm referring to a mere $5 control pad here! The Pro comes with a high-end battery, but does it offer battery charging limits? Unfortunately, it does not. Does it provide information on Wattage output? Such data can be useful for diagnosing issues such as brakes friction, under-inflated tires, and more. One issue that seems to be prevalent in these KZbin reviews is a lack of critical analysis. It’s time to raise the bar, folks!

Anyone who's owned the Pro for at least 6 months have any comments on what their routine maintenance is? I've got 3500kms on my '23 Apollo Phantom & if I don't tighten several bolts every week or less, it ends up squeaking & creaking. The bolts holding the silver rings around the wheels always come loose, as well as the lug nuts that hold the axles on the scooter. Not to mention the handlebars. I top up the tires every day before I ride to ensure the 10", tubed tires are at 50psi. They'll lose about 6-8 psi daily, with a 195lb rider & often heavy knapsack. I have to spray the hubs, suspension and stem joint with White Lithium Grease every couple of weeks. All this is pretty easy, but I've been close to disaster a few times by not tightening every possible bolt I can reach once in a while. My Phantom's been reliable, but I doubt most people would be aware of the constant upkeep a healthy scooter requires. I'm expecting the Pro to be free of squeaks/creaks - I'd like to know if it does stay quiet, and if it doesn't, how easy is it to tighten or lubricate the sources of the noise? Anything coming loose? How would yours compare to, say, a Nami Klima or Burn-E2 Max? I also heard the drum brakes get sharper over time, is this true? I use dedicated regen brakes on my Phantom almost exclusively, but use the Nutt Hydraulics I installed on it rarely for emergency/instant stops. Are the drum brakes on the Pro good enough for emergency stops?

I think it was a weight thing. Not that they can't keep it < 100lbs with a 60v system, but I think they're holding back on top speed in favor of reliability/longevity. I contemplated the Nami Burn-E2 Max & I do respect 100km/h, I find on 11" tires, that's over the top. I would expect at least 80km/h, though. Not sure why the guys in this channel couldn't hit the top speed, I've always been able to get about 10km/h faster than top speed on mine, without using LUDO mode. LUDO isn't a big deal, but if you're riding with a lower battery (~30%), it comes in handy to give you the torque you need.

@@Asghaad i'm talking about drum brakes, there are no pads. I have such scooters and they typically require zero maintenance during their lifetime. Driving disc brakes too, for almost a decade, and i replaced pads 0 times for the reason of being worn out. I did it only to decrease noise. Rotor maintenance and flat tire is way more frequent and super frustrating. The endless warping, and terrible noise. Forget 10 minutes, not going to happen, ever. You need to disassemble the wheel each time, and apply the correct torque when done, then recenter the pads. You're biased here, it's YOUR scooter that has correct cabling, it's YOUR scooter that has a plug. Most simply don't!
