Bought an EUC because someone stole my onewheel plus about a month ago- never looking back. I honestly loved onewheeling more than anything I ever had pev related, BUT the safe feeling of the euc plus the ability to look forward while riding- allows me to turn my head left or right and see the view- opposed to OWing where I am either looking straight at the view or facing totally away from it. EUC honestly changed my life in ways I can not explain, but I believe it changed how I see errands like a trip to the store- due to the faster speed than the onewheel, plus it plays music and has the trolley handle where it basically becomes a little pet youre walking

Someone stole my baby Tesla v1 last week.😢 I loved her so much. I ended up getting her older brother, Nikola, and boy what an upgrade. Sherman arrives in a month and I can't wait. Maybe Onewheels are fun, but once you go EUC, you never go back. I've heard so many people sell their OWs to buy an EUC; never the other way around. That should tell you something. 😊👍 Imma ride 'til I die. EUC4LIFE, baby 👌😎

Thanks for your thoughts. This and your V11 review has prompted me to put down a deposit for a V11. I have a Onewheel XR which I LOVE and it's a blast to ride but I'm not comfortable using it as a city commuter (my original intention). I'm a big guy and I worry about the XR being able to take me safely over big sidewalk cracks, chunky curbs, and rough roads - I have to watch every bit of the road in front of me. Granted, both vehicles are dangerous but I feel that a EUC is much more forgiving. I'm excited to compare the two - 750W/324Wh vs 2200W/1500Wh, that's a HUGE difference in power and energy, especially for nearly the same price. It's currently a minimum two month wait but I'm actually glad about that as I'm sure that the first few production batches (the guinea pig stage) are going through a lot of manufacturer's fine-tuning. BTW, I used your affiliate link. I see that a cookie was set with a ShareASale ID, so hopefully that'll get passed to you. Cheers.

Awesome video, Jimmy! You did the most definitive summary between the 2 wheels. Coming from an EUC community, you really hit the nail on the head on why I prefer the EUC more. Range, speed and that exhilarating feeling I get at 30 mph hands free is amazing! I have tried the OneWheel and it is also a great feeling to ride. Sure the side stance seems cooler. I do prefer snowboarding to skiing also and I always thought snowboarders were way cooler than the skiers. Lol. However, I have done more rollerblading in my life than snowboarding and skiing and feel quite comfortable and natural at the forward stance. In addition, I discovered the EUC first and had never heard of the OneWheel in 2015. Things might have been different if I had been introduced to the OneWheel first also. Anyway different strokes for different folks. Let’s all just appreciate the fact that whichever wheel we ride, it gets our endorphins up and we get to enjoy life better. Happy wheeling!

I snowboard a ton, so I bought a Pint as my first device and have been pretty happy so far. Just plain fun. I def wish it could go faster (30mph) and had added safety (reserve battery for balance to prevent nosedives). I also think FM could create a type of "walk the dog" setting on the OW to help with dragging it around. I'll buy a new OW if the next gen has more speed/safety/range, otherwise my next purcahse will be an EUC as it seems more practical.

Hi, thanks for all your videos. The decision to go with an euc, over one wheel and escooter was about 30 KZbin videos in research. I went on ebay and purchased the cheapest usable used euc as a starter euc. Less than $500🥳. I wanted to see if it was for me with a cheaper smaller wheel before i go for the Sherman/Gotway/Abram, as considerations etc as in investment of $3-4k. Your subscription on KZbin is my favorite. Just wanted to say thank you from a 56yo who still hasn’t grown up. I am not sure if riding motorcycles everyday, E bicycles, or skateboards and bmx bicycles so many decades ago will help. This video literally couldn't have come at a better time. I just got the 'okay' from the S.O. to purchase another toy earlier today. EUC vs Onewheel is where I landed, as I already have a bunch of eboards, a scoot, and an ebike. Even with all the advantages of the EUC, I think I'd still have more fun on the Onewheel. Been skating for more than half my life. I don't need max speed, even on my eboards I usually settle in at 16mph. When I need to go far or fast, I jump on my ebike that can go over 100 miles distance or 30+mph if a put in some effort. The only true downside of the EUC vs Onewheel, for me, is that portability thing. Fingers crossed for a good black Friday sale from future motion. Think I'm set. Thanks for the video!

Thanks Jimmy got an answer already just after 2 days, I also own exway X1 pro :) and some other electric skateboards. In between OW & EUC, group riders who rode both prefer EUC so I wanted to see what's your opinion. To me I tested all those off road machine OW, EUC & E-MTB on the same trail on & off roading, the 8" tires E-MTB & 14" tire EUC that I had are much easier stay balance on rough terrain with a higher speed VS OW, after rode all of them on the same surfaces back and forward, I found out that E-MTB and EUC not just can go faster on those surface, they're also can absorbs bumps and cracks better than OW, they're all feel very different, OW have the self balance like a EUC but ride more like a electric skateboard with some floating feeling to it, it really comes down to personal preference :)

Hey look I showed up in a JC video playing air guitar on my OW. It was great to meat you that day Jimmy. To reinforce a few of your points I had battery issues that day due to improper charging cycles I was apparently doing for my OW. I don't know if the EUCs have the same issue but I unfortunately learned the hard way how these batteries need to be left on a charger for extended periods of time which is a huge drawback of electric power. The EUC at least can be easily carried but the OW is an out of the box 28lb or so device not to mention the 3lb I probably have in mods. I too broke my collar bone like like too many of us old dudes have and I still love that damn thing. The EUC has me super intrigued. The range alone would be game changer. Honestly It just looks like it would feel too dorky to ride facing forward. I think its my sk-8 or die attitude we had against rollerbladers makes feel that way about EUCs. You make a strong case here Jimmy. Remember to hit up the Front Range Floaters on Facebook when ever you come down to Colorado Springs. Hopefully when you do I'll my board back from Future Motion with a new battery or whatever that damn thing needs.

@Jimmy Chang, @Adam U Thank you for posting this comparison. I have 4+ years OW experience and much of what you write resonates strongly, even though I have not tried the EUC yet. That is about to change in the next few days though. But just yesterday I had kind of an epiphany about what could give the EUC riding experience more magic (in line with that of the OW): find a way to have *the feet stand further apart*, like on the OW. On the EUC the feet are positioned closer to one another than on the OW. And that is important. Why? The key/killer feature on the OW, in my opinion, is that it essentially simulates a *see-saw*, a riding one at that :). And thus the left-right motion of the hip is activated more (often): more than on the EUC, also more than a regular skateboard, and more than a regular bike but perhaps not more than on a regular unicycle (which is more complicated to ride, I agree; way more difficult to master than OW; 5+ year experience). If there's ever going to be an EUC on which the experience feels as cool as that of the OW, it's when that left-right motion in the hip is activated/engaged more. I am thinking / brainstorming out loud now -- without thinking about feasibility -- but that device would have a stance of the feet very similar to that on the OW. But you get propelled forward (only) when you move your feet up & down like if you were to stand as one person on a seesaw (OW). That way your core automatically gets activitated (more than when you accelerate on EUC, and even more than when you accelerate on OW..). Then you'd get some kind of a fish-type motion of the entire body. Again, I don't *see* yet how that would work mechanically, but from the body perspective that is what you'd want to get. Another thing I think that could improve the experience on the EUC is if the feet are positioned higher than they are now -- more risky, I know -- perhaps right in the middle of the wheel (as with OW). Right now, the feet are positioned below the midpoint level of the wheel. And thus you get less of a seesaw motion.. I'd be curious to hear from you guys from the EUC community (@Adum U & @Jimmy Chang), even if you feel like the EUC experience is magic enough already as is.. ;) ;) 🙏🏼😇👊🏽

@@urgarb9718 because your wheel is running at like half the voltage with 1/10th the pack that ours are. We can do things off-road that are impossible for you, even the shape, riding forwards is better for off-road, because your pads stick out on the axis your moving forwards, meaning you can't lean nearly as hard, not that the OW could even take it. For crazy banks off-road this is key. Uni's tend to be almost as weather proof as well. I owned both. The one weakness are 45 degree sideways tilt shutoffs.

I have viewed about a dozen of your videos now and I am quite impressed. You have already gotten kudos on your video production quality and editing skills but I wish to complement you on your scripting and narration. Yes, you already have self-deprecatingly mentioned your "monotonal" delivery but I would rather describe it as low-key and moderated as compared to the hyperenergetic expostulations accompanied with gyrating gestulations while wearing costumes using colors not found in nature as seen on many, many, waaay too many, other KZbin presentations. I cannot maintain a caffeine high that long. My heart gets jumpy and I start to twitch. Cogent content is your forte' not flashy, emotional, presentation and in this you are quite successful. Nevertheless, your video editing keeps the eyes active and engaged with pleasant content while not distracting from the narrative. That's a hard balance to achieve and yet you consistently succeed. Your narratives have, in every instance I have viewed them, been balanced, rational, and concisely to the point. Even your use of analogies was effective - especially here in your treatment of the question of One Wheel vs. EUC. You effectively explained the difference and separated the fact based criteria from the emotionally based factors and yet did not exclude, deprecate, or weight either "side" of the issue. I bet you did well on essay questions in school. In short, Good on ya! BTW, I hope your kids appreciate their really cool dad.

the squarewheel speedwobble on 1 wheel is why people go back to traditional skateboards more than nosedives or anything else (uphill nosedives are terrible too on the 1wheel)...but really in this video you can see the guy having square wheel speed wobble. Exway x1 Pro FTW!!!

I don't understand why people compare the one wheel to snowboarding but nobody ever compares EUC's to skiing. Every comparison you made about snowboarding applies to me with skiing. Instead of a gliding hover board from BTTF, I have a magic carpet from Aladdin. Instead of skate boarding it is roller blading. I would also say there is one major factor you missed between OW and EUC, the stance and how tiring it is. As much fun as it is to carve sideways, it is more ergonomic to ride a unicycle. Facing forward is just less work at the end of the day.

Got a question - will any EUC shut down when the rider jumps off? I ask because I bought an EUC (V8F) and, after 22 miles, I sold it. Reason - while riding in an empty playground, I got unbalanced and stepped off. Happened many times before and many times I could even grab the handle of the unit and keep it from falling over. BUT - this time when I hopped off, the forces applied just balanced the wheel and it kept going. I mean it REALLY kept going - straight towards an incline and I thought it would run into the wall it was heading for, but instead it leaned left and made a BEAUTIFUL 180 degree turn and accelerated back down, went another 20 yards and finally fell. Embarrassing that it looked like it rode more smoothly by itself than with me on it. That was it for me. Not the embarrassment but the liability of something like that happening while riding near others and running into a kid or someone on a bike, or someones Tesla, was just more liability than I could accept. At least the OneWheel shuts off when you lift a toe or heel or both off of the front footpad. So - is this common to all EUCs?????? Do any have a sensor to detect when it becomes unloaded?

Well inform it very objective thank you Jimmy, You’re absolutely right for hate need it, end of the day is personal choice. I came from a long lines of e scooters, I had two EUC friend would not get off me how much better EUC is, eventually I gave in, I’m so glad I did, EUC took me to a whole other level of ev enjoyment, though I still can appreciate scooters, I can’t ever go back, I find the risk was worth the rewards when it comes with EUC. Thank you again for putting it so eloquently of how it all comes down to personal choice vs specs and data.

Another major safety feature of the EUC is that the stance is inherently safer. If there is a power failure or loss of balance at less than 15 mph there's a good chance you'll be able to run off the board without eating it. Its pretty much guaranteed you're gonna be eating pavement on the one wheel because it's very difficult to orient yourself into a running position while falling off of a sideways board.

I just bought a OW XR, it will arrive soon and I can't wait. I saw an ad for it and it spoke to me. It may be the "middle-aged man" thing, idk. I saw the EUC on this video and other videos and chuckle because it looks so weird, while the OW looks so fun. I've never done anything like either one of them before, so maybe the OW is the better option because it doesn't go as fast or far, since I'm a beginner.

Hey Jimmy, my first Onewheel is arriving today (got a great black friday deal!) But I'm kind of having second thoughts. I too live in CO and I commute around 4 miles to downtown Denver. I built an E-bike last year and put over 600 miles on it in 2019. My problem is the bike is too easy. There isn't any challenge while riding. I can tune out and essentially coast to work and home but I'm not having as much fun as I could be. I have never ridden a skateboard/surfboard but I have mastered hoverboards. I am torn between getting an EUC for safety reasons or keeping the Onewheel. If you had to choose one for commuting on a daily basis would you choose an EUC or a Onewheel?

I watch these videos as I'm thrilled with the variations in electric mobility. I started out shopping for a potential ebike. Living in Maine local dealerships was a NO. So the only way to do any kind of informed decision making was videos like yours... it's literally the Wild West out there with claims vs actual performance. I'm currently looking at scooters as the cost per features dynamics seem at least now to favor the scooter. Still I'm fascinated by all the devices currently on the market and just around the corner. Just imagine doubling your one wheels range with solid state battery tech and an upgrade that allows sensors to allow your one wheel to follow you at you walking pace to reduce the need to carry it at least on flat surfaces. Stairs would still be a trick:)

As for stance difference, you missed the most important. People feel safer and more in control with one foot forward and one back. Anyone who has ever played a sport, taken martial arts, danced or something similar will know instinctively that a side-by-side stance on a moving board is inherently a scarier position. Also, it seems that the One-wheel gives you more flexibility in how you ride. If you look at your own videos, those on the one-wheel seem to be more relaxed, have more a more bent-knee position, are able to move their legs and feet without their hips (sort of like skiing). Again, I think this is more intuitive and comfortable position. I don't own or ride either of these, but thought I'd give my "subjective" opinion on what I see in your video. Nicely done. You all seem to be having a blast.

Hi Jimmy Chang! I love your video. The visuals, and in-depth comparison is awesome! 🤩 FYI, subjective data can have a good level of objectivity. For example: ask a sample population of the US to say what the best State is. Out of the 52% that voted Colorado, you then ask them to explain why they said that and you'll find 72% is because of the living conditions (completely invented). But such data is interesting to help you find objective measures of why certain people like a state over another ;)

Great video as always! Im a onewheel guy for sure! Despite all the facts that you mentioned, It's that stance that means everything to me personally. Im 45 now but i was a die hard skateboarder and a novice surfer when i was way younger lol. So the feel of the onewheel at any speed gives me that feeling from my younger shinanigans! I'll take less speed, less milage, less portability, less everything just for that feeling i get. There's something about how everyone looks on those euc's that is just so weird for me. Just my opinion of course, but locked in that forward facing stance.. no thanks!

any tips on how to fall correctly from Onewheel / EUC to prevent-mitgate from twisting knee's specifically!? 1 accident I had on my onewheel landed wrong and twisted my right knee because i was compensating for the foot still on the board due to a failed bail out. Then today was my first day learning the ks 16s , 2 weeks after that onewheel incident, started practicing mounting on it , i lost balance, left foot was still on the pedal and the device still engage to go foward. My right leg pivoted (at the knee) on the ground as i was falling but not in the direction of the fall but towards the opposite end, twisting my knee up again. Are you suppose to jump off the euc? how do you bail from a euc if you need to suddenly ? Someway somehow my foot does not come off the pedals or boards to makes these devices go and i either end up going at a split when i need to bail or twisting at the knee. Thanks for the videos , you are one reason i got a onewheel and KS 16S.

I will agree that every one's opinions are that, their opinions and are not necessarily facts. I love my OneWheel XR and I know I'm going to love my GT I just ordered. I'm not into going 45mph in a straight line or go more than 32 miles a run, I love to cruise, carve, and enjoy the float. I bought my OW, because I love snowboarding and I wanted to have that feeling all year long. Plus, I wanted to keep my core and leg muscles strong when I wasn't on the slopes. When I go back to snowboarding, it's like I never took a break, my first runs use to make my legs, feet, and arches hurt. Now I just ly down my first couple runs with ease. I see why people love, want or enjoy EUC's, but it's just not my thing. Unfortunately the only gripe I have about EUC's, is that because of their speed and the way some people where I live ride them, my local trails are staring to vote on banning electric riding devices on the trails. The only way we as a group here in New Hampshire have stopped/delayed them from doing this, is that we point out how fast and dangerous some of the "Tour De France" want a bes bicyclist are on the trails.

Dude all of this! (well except for Colorado being even remotely acceptable as a state!) I started with the OneWheel, then due to "Range pain" I switched to an eskate... But unfortunately Eskate is not great with the off road/trails and such. So I spent a couple of weekends with some of the EUC guys here in DC (also not the best state) and learned to ride well enough to decide to spend the cash on an MSX after about 2 hours. The MSX is perfect! it checks all the boxes. If I wana hang with the OneWheel folks, No Problem!. If I want to scream down DC streets with the DC Esk8 folks, eazy peazy. And if I want to spend a day riding with the EUC guys on a 70-100 mile round trip to some small far off town down an interstate bike trail I'm totally able to do that. The MSX is just unstoppable ( i'm still quite stoppable but it rocks) I always get tired long before I run out of range, and I no longer have any fear of exploring and coming to a place where I can't charge, or the board just won't make it. I loved my OneWheel. I loved every eskate I ever owned. But I am absolutely blown away by how awesome my EUC is.
