In this tool restoration video, watch me fully restore three old rusty Estwing hammers, by bringing them right back to life.
My DiResta GIANT Razors… Now LIVE HERE: imakeny.com/pr...
For this restoration project, I went to the local flea market and snagged three hammers that I got for only $1 each.
To really make this restoration video one that you will truly appreciate, I used scrap leather (sold by the pound) from Weaver Leather… Get Some!

No matter the subject of the video; it’s always a pleasure to go along for the ride . Thanks again Jimmy for a very satisfying experience . Few years ago just after retiring , I helped my son in law restore his great grandfathers garden and work tools over the course of the year.. as he gardened with these tools he very much appreciated the new life we gave them. Also we bonded too. I’ve since then restored old tool chests for repurposing ( blanket chests and toy boxes ) . Most of this stuff was one step away from being trashed …. Very rewarding .

The stacked leather on those hammers looks great. My coworker recommended this channel to me and he was right on. This is the kind of stuff I do. I even restored a similar Craftsman hammer a few years ago. Coool. I need to film more of my builds.

I love the way he marries tools and techniques across disciplines like metalwork, woodwork and leather crafts. I particularly like the use of the bandsaw on the third hammer to gracefully carve the profiles into the leather handle wrap. Always fun to watch and always something to learn.

I have owned a sheet metal hammer with the same type of handle for 40 years,if it does start to come apart I know where to send it. I love watching any tool being brought back to life,it's even better when the restoration looks as good as the factory quality. Great job as always, I envy your patience, it would have took me 10 pots of coffee to cut all those leather pieces.
