Having the machines take your order in McDonalds(not the drive-thru ones, they suck) is actually much better. A lot of times people will complain due to having their order misheard, but if they are the ones putting it into the system it will be the customers' fault for placing the order wrong. The only way the order could be messed up is if it's read incorrectly. QuikTrip already has machines to take your order and it's fantastic.

About the automated McDonald's: I'd say it's a bad thing because it's taking away jobs without creating new ones to fill the place of the old ones, meaning that now people who would have been able to be cashiers are thrown back into the job hunt where it's hard to find a job because everything is being automated, I think under capitalism we shouldn't strive for automation because people need those jobs to pay their bills and buy food, if everyone had their needs met and didn't have to worry about being able to feed themselves then maybe automation could work
