What about upgraded injectors? Are stock injector fine with upgraded turbo?
@iannorton446317 сағат бұрын
I'm a mechanic from England. By the looks of it it is either sucking a little air into the fuel or the injection system is worn-out/clean injectors. I usually put a gallon of petrol in a full tank of diesel. Turbo could be worn but the smoke would be worse and white....✌️👍🇬🇧

Incase you don’t know yet, the e-brake doesn’t connect to the brakes. It locks the transfer case. So be careful when you jack up the truck because it could roll off the jack.
@andrewbrinton15317 сағат бұрын
K this may be a dumb question and im totally spacing something obvious. But how would it roll off the jack any differently? If the tcase is locked the wheels wont turn, if brakes are locked wheels won't turn, but either way jacked up the tires are off the ground.. what am I missing? Lol
@frankoae864 сағат бұрын
@ a regular handbrake locks each wheel separately with its own caliper. A transfer case brake locks the driveline. If you only lock the drive line and you jack up one side of the car, the open differential allows the wheels to turn independently of each other unless the axle locker is engaged. The only reason the transfer case brake works is because all wheels are on the ground at the same time. Once you lift any wheel off the ground, the opposite wheel on the axle is free to move independently and roll off the Jack.

3-4 inch lift, 35 inch tires, delete some stuff, bigger injectors, go a little bit of a bigger turbo, diesel's are like rotary's when picking a turbo and remember to stay in the rpm efficiency range which will probably be around 1200 and up
@EXZACHTPERFORMANCE11 сағат бұрын
Ive got 35" tyres on my 4x4, I would recommend not running them full time. They ruin the handling of the vehicle on road, Rob literally more than 25% of your engine power and will increase your fuel consumption by about 30%. The ONLY benefits are you can drive over rocks/logs that are about 5cm bigger diameter than 33s" and you can handle slightly more mud. Unfortunately these aren't huge like the yank trucks so they don't accept huge wheels, need to remember that a 35 inch tyre is getting close to 1m tall

Hey Jim, do yourself a favour and check the injector loom and make sure it hasn’t filled up with oil as it makes its way back to the ecu and shags it, also make sure the little coolant pipe under the exhaust manifold isn’t swollen up like a balloon. Those are the most common faults with the td5’s
@Muz_199115 сағат бұрын
Feel like Jimmy's is really underestimating the towing and offroad ability of the landy 😂
@gmula19874 сағат бұрын
Why would you say that? I highly doubt he’s underestimating it’s off-road ability considering he’s taken it off-roading already and it took everything they threw at it with ease like a champ.
@nightrider199214 сағат бұрын
Td5s actually run below the temp being in the middle so that normal. My nanocom reads 86C when it’s sitting just below middle so that’s normal. Check out td5inside for more power and vgt turbo, you will need a bigger inter cooler. Talk to Luke at Lof clutches for a new clutch and flywheel because that tune will smoke your clutch. I’ve got two Td5s, one here in the states and the other Germany waiting to become legal.

start by draining and replacing the fuel completely, if it's not that it's likely something clogged in the fuel system like a clogged fuel filter, or low pressure in the fuel pump, maybe even air in the fuel, injectors could also cause this, injection timing might also be the issue, there are worse things it could also be, low cylinder compression is a possibility, so you might want to check that out.
@bart9117816 сағат бұрын
In my opinion the td5 is one of the best Land Rover engines after the 200tdi. Some of the common issues. Injector seals (only use genuine) Injector harness Red plug on the ecu fills with oil due to a capillary action from the injector harness don’t know why it just does. Fuel filter head can cause a load of problems with starting always replace the return and bleed valve with a genuine one. Crank sensor can cause some starting issues The 10p td5 which is what yours should be fitted with has plastic dowel studs on the head which can cause the head to move slightly if overheated. It was sorted on the later 15p with metal studs. If you do ever have to do a head on it and get it skimmed you will loose power they just don’t run as good. So I’d recommend upgrading to a AMC cylinder head. In my opinion remove the egr fit a decat and get it remapped it completely transforms them. the 10p msb ecu cant be flashed and has to be chipped where the nnn ecu fitted to the later 15p can be flashed. Pretty much live and breath land rovers had a 2006 defender for 4 years put just shy of 45k on it and currently have a discovery 2 and put 36k on it in 2 and a half year both td5s and absolute workhorses. Serviced ever 6-8k with good filters and good oil and every 10-15k gearbox and diffs they just about go for ever. Good to see it arrived safely and excited to see what you do with it Just don’t lower it and stick 20s on it with low pro tyres that would absolutely ruin it 😂😂
