This is the album that was the catalyst for me into Christian Speed Metal. I listened to the first 2 songs and I bought the cassette, played it for all my friends and they all thought it was the best. And your 15 year old lyrics still hold up. Being only 15 does not mean God did not bless you with those lyrics. Jeremiah, Samuel, David, Daniel, Timothy all come to mind as people God called while they were young. God has used this album in so many ways and still does as people get introduced to the speed metal of the Big D... awesome

My introduction to the BIG D at the tender young age of 17. Also my first metal concert when Deliverance shared the stage with Martyr. Good times and good memories! Timeless album indeed.

Hi Jimmy. Greetings from Costa Rica. Huge Deliverance band here. I love the self titled. I think I have 3 copies in CD and one in vinyl. I cant say how much the music of D has meant to me. In dark and sad times it has been the hope I needed. My favorite all time D song is "No time". Those lyrics made me a D fan and they totally got me into D. My favorite version is the one in the Intense Live series. It is so heavy and powerful. Thank you so much for some of the best music of the world. I have never seen you live nut my D collection is huge and I am proud of it. Thank you for making these story videos. I enjoy watching you very much. This album is one I have heard since my teen days and every time I listen to it, I am blown away!!! Greetings!!!

That was great, love hearing the background story! I believe God has richly blessed this album. The straight unfiltered message is so needed even today. Its encouraging to hear it, when very few out there today speak so boldly.

Been a fan since 89. This was very enjoyable! My favs were Blood of the Covenant, The Call and If you will... I can't get into the lyrics of No Time or Awake anymore as I grew out of that 'turn or burn' lyrical style after early 20s..but understand how black and white our thinking can be in late teens and it makes sense for young metal heads who can be attracted to the energy of that intensity.

Amazing we had such a fun time back then. Making up the band and those songs in your room.Yhrn in my garage. You, Chris, Alan, me and the couple of guitar players, because I couldn't get my shit together and get a decent guitar rig. Later I became good. But to be honest I never would have been the lead guitarist you needed. Plus you were going more in a hardcore direction than I was into at the time. I am so proud that you kept it going and those songs survive. As much as Chris and me use to fight, I miss him and wish he was around. He was passionate and came from a good heart. No Time is still a favorite. Your right Hold On Tightly wasn't right for this album. But it was still a great song. Your right about back in the day. A lot of the other "Christian" bands and even churches would judge and not support us. Even though we did for them. Can't to see you guys play again. Hope you can come home and and play in our So.California home. Final days of my open heart/lung surgery. Nightmare that I have been living with for the last 3+years is over. Probably been dealing with it for many more that I don't want to know. I miss you my friend. Hope to get out to Vegas soon to visit you and Helen. So glad you stuck to your guns and made the band you envisioned. Also so great you branched out to other music you love. Not to many other metal kids (besides you, me and Scott Stewart) listened Bowie, when we were that young. Love you brother, And Hurry Up Before The Glue Dries!

When I was a 13 year old kid in Oregon listening to this cassette over and over while doing yardwork in the Summer or playing air guitar in my bedroom I would have paid good money to have the access and the privilege to hear these details from the artists themselves. Now I’m pushing 50 and although I miss the mystery of the whole thing (I thought you guys were “scary”, not just a bunch of kids who were a few years older than me), it’s fantastic to hear these stories and commentary. This album is really, really great, and I’ll never tire of it.

Back in early 1990 a buddy had the debut taped off. I then taped it off off of his copy. i was hooked from the first riff of Victory. I played it over and over. I ended up buying Deliverance and Weapons cassettes in the summer of 1991 and What a Joke cassette a few months later in the fall of 1991. Prior to this the heaviest Christian Metal I had in my collection were bands like Barren Cross, Bloodgood and Saint. These bands sort of touched on speed and thrash with a couple of songs like Black Snake but Deliverance dove right into it all the way. Not to compare Deliverance to Metallica and Slayer, but I was glad there was a Christian band that was at the same level and talent as bands like these. I always though the musicianship was just insane! I was into Vengeance briefly shortly afterwards and had the first cassette Human Sacrifice but they never stuck until I bough Once Dead a few years ago which to me was a better albumthant their first one. Roger's vocals kind of cracks me up from time to time. It's almost like cookie monster trying to sing about a serious subject matter. The funny thing is I have very little Speed and Thrash in my collection to this day except Vengeance Once Dead, Ultimatum Into the Pit, The Moshketeers and Join the Dead I listen to Mostly Old School Melodic Christian Hard Rock and Metal ranging from John Elefante to Saint (I show case my collection on my channel Soldier777) but for some reason the thrashy/speed side of Deliverance as well as some of the more slowed down/melodic side like Stay of Execution resonated with me.

The silly thing is, there's no such a thing as "no time" - as God doesn't exist or is bound by time. This song's implication that you'll even run out of time - past God's grace and love, is also unbiblical. Love the music tho! :)
