@@JimmyTheMower Yes, after watching the video I was able to change the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, oil+filter and not only does it still work (haha), it cranks and runs even better than before! Sadly that was my first ever time doing any of those things but now I feel more capable thanks to you. One thing I didn’t expect was the amount of oil that spilled out when I removed the old filter. (Yes, the oil was all drained at that point). Made quite a mess but nothing some shop towels couldn’t clean up. Thanks again!

Great Video Jimmy ! In America the clamps on the air intake hose are "Worm drive" or "worm screw" hose clamps
@JimmyTheMower2 жыл бұрын
Do they have a thumb screw on those to make them easier to undo ?
@863092 жыл бұрын
@@JimmyTheMower No sir, as they are usually in tight spots, its a hex head with a slot for a flatblade screwdriver(which never works very good) so I always try to get a socket on them.

Actually I just checked the air filter on My Gravely ZTXL 52" and the top clamp by the filter has a plastic T handle on it , but the lower one by the intake does not.

That's the same as mine. Lots of people take the top clip off and bend the pipe which causes it to crack.

You have to be so careful with these engines lately. Fuel contamination is a big thing, so changing the fuel filter is a very cheap way of maintaining the performance 👌

Thanks for this great tutorial! Inherited a SCAG mower with FR691V engine...780hrs... Has bit of oil buildup in the intake...what could cause? Looking to get the mower back in tip top shape. Thanks again and hope your doing well!
@JimmyTheMower Жыл бұрын
They are great engines and the one you have should run for many more hours. With regards to oil build up on the intake its hard to diagnose over the Internet. Clean all associated pipework to clear any blockages and clean everything with carb cleaner and run some injection cleaner fluid through the fuel tank / lines. This makes combustion a little bit hotter and the solvents loosen any stubborn gunk and should burn off any excess. If the problem persists then you need to dive a bit deeper. Best of luck 👍

Great video! What was the gap on the spark plugs?
@JimmyTheMower6 ай бұрын

You didn't measure/re-gap the new spark plugs. The spec for this engine is 0.75mm. The BPR4ES is 0.8mm out of the box, so it needs to be closed up 0.05mm to meet spec.

Any idea why my fr651v on my Ariens Edge never needs choked to start even when it's been sitting for days? Why is this and what does this mean?

Either it's running exactly how it should be or it is ruining a little rich on fuel. The same engine on mine hardly ever needs the choke unless it's very cold.
