Pretty job overall. You did good by removing the oil filter while the oil was still draining, to get more dirty oil to drain. I use the new oil filter box folded lengthwise to place under the filter housing lip so it drains into my container. Always clean oil filter mounting surface with a paper towel (or similar) to ensure a good seal. Oil drain is plastic on plastic with an O-ring seal, so easy does it! Good habits are a nice practice, and it's fun! Also Home Depot and Lowes's have these kits now as does my Kubota dealer. Thanks...

Well done. I will say that once you start sucking the oil out with an extractor you won't go back to draining. I suck it out and when I'm finished I open the drain petcock and barely get a dribble of oil. Quick, and a lot less clean up.

If the warranty is done just get a Fram. I’ve used the orange one for 15 years. I used Mobil 1, 10W-30. The air filter and spark plugs go OEM. I gave that mower to my sister. Doesn’t burn oil either. I got the Toro Vtwin motor on my Toro. Seems fine so far. Ironically now toro is putting on Koehler and Kawasaki and much less of the Toro V twin. The Toro I have wouldn’t get build up of grass like you showed in the video. Apparently the air blows out debris so it doesn’t pile up.

You're never supposed to tighten and oil filter with an oil wrench. Always hand tighten. Oil filters don't need to be that.😁

Is that a 13/16th deep socket for the spark plug change out? What is the Gap? Would it be best to make sure that the gas filter isn't coming into contact with any of the metal parts there? Vibrations could potentially wear a hole into the gas filter. Before installing the new air filter, I think it would best to blow the crap from under the old air filter before removing it. That way I would eliminate any chance of sending debris into the open air intake hose and on into the engine.

Don’t have an oil filter wrench? I have 3 different sizes with handles that fold to get in tight places. If a oil filter is put on with a wrench by a gorilla, you will never get it off by hand. I have had to use tin snips to cut teeth into the band that grips the filter. The worst removal was finally driving an old screwdriver through the body of the filter and turning it off. Or the gorilla that got hired to change oil at the Cadillac dealer. The customer’s first warranty oil change by him leaked. He put the filter on so tight, it cut the gasket. My new Caddy. This weekend I am dividing up all my tools to give my married homeowner 24 year old grandson after using my dad’s and mine for the last 60 years.

You should always check gap on the plugs before installing. You also over tightened the hell out of the plugs..Never use an oil filter wrench to install a filter. Hand tight plus a 1/4 or so turn.

Mate, if you blew the air filter everytime you operate the machine, there is no need to replace it at 160hrs. The state of yours looks as if you have never cleaned it since you bought the mower.

you never tighten a oil filter with a wrench. Hand tight and then snug it 1/2 to 3/4 turn by hand is fine. same for a car/truck. Also when draining the oil you don't unscrew the nut all the way out or you get a mess like you had. simple knowledge really.

The Spark Plugs Can Outlast The Last The Mower, If They Fire And The Machine Runs Perfect You Don't Need To Change Them! My 1970's John Deere With One Plug Ran Perfect Until 2022 With The Original Plug! The Engine Started Using Oil And Blue Smoke From Mowing Crazy Huge Lawns All It's Life. I Bought One Of These Cub Cadet Mowers With This Engine And Change The Oil & Filter Every 100 Hours And It Looks Clean Still, The Air Filter I Just Blow Out With Compressed Air And The Fuel Filter I Never Changed For 5 Years Still Filtering And Never Clogged Up. I Always Add TufOil To Every Oil Change And My Engines Last Forever And Never Use Oil From Engine Wear Unless The Engine Has 50 Years Of Abuse. I Have All The Parts To Change Them When Needed But Changing Them Every 200 Hours Is Not Necessary! Your Airbox Was Filthy Too! I Never Have Any Crap In Mine! Just Blow The Filter Out From The Inside Out And That Puppy Is Clean.
