PART 1. Finding the sweet spot for new gear ratios in my Jimny jb74is not an easy task. Because it sits on 35" tires makes it even harder to find the right recipe. But all will be well in time👍😄

Amazing, I want to run 235/75/15 tires. If the remap and gear ratios help with 35s, I expect them to have much better impact on the much smaller dimension I am planning to go with.

Heĺlo. Love your upgrades. When do we get to see part 2 after the diff gear changes. Keep it còmming

Well the reason is simple, just haven’t got around to it yet and also I am working on another power upgrade to see the difference👍💪

You could also do an engine swap. Check out suzukis k14c engine. It is turbocharged and was installed in the swift sport and vitara. Plenty of torque and tunability. Maybe a swap is not as hard to dom also the engine is cheaper than the supercharger kit. The k15b in the jimny is a lackluster poor performing engine with no room to improve. A small diesel would have been the best choice for this car.

From my experience i will not put gears anymore in the tcase , i will do it Only in the axles....i will go for for 4.3 or 4.5 and after that i will try to find any option to increase the power of the engine!:)

Trust me ....it is all about hp....i have 3.9 in axles and 4.16 in tcase... (160hp at the moment) i m cruising in 5th gear at ~3300 and 120km/h on gps easily....

Yes, great !!... but where is the result "after new gear installation" and "after supercharger installation" that you said ? Did you forget to do it ??

added weight from mods has also affected performance, consumption and of course range

I have been following your channel from the begining . Love the mods you've done to your car . Have you finally put the supercharger kit ? I put 31' tyres in my zuk which has a G13bb 1.3 litre mpfi and it drove terrible on the highway . I then installed a 4.16 reduction gear in my TC and that matched my tire size The high range reduced 12 % n the low range 84 % . I am loving the low range as there is so much more torque when I need it . You are planning to change your final drive ratio. Either ways you will get better accrleration but top speed will come down . A company called protrack have launched 3 sets of JB74 reduction gears for the TC n I think the -17 High and -87 Low will be perfect for your ride with 35 ' tyres . All the best ...drive safe👍👍

Yes, finally installed the Supercharger kit. But in order to make it work i had to go through hell with more modifications, and still i am not happy with the performance. First of all Bullet is not selling a plug and play solution for the Jimny and if i would have known that before i would never done this mod. Would not recommend shopping with this company. I had to remove the original car computer and have another one custom made here in Iceland. After much calibrating and finding the right fuel injectors we managed to get the Supercharger working properly and now the Jimny has about 180hp under the bonnet. Then the big moment came to find out if the power and torque was enough to move the 35" tires? We drove it on tarmac to the desired speed, which is 90km per hour, and preferably you would want the RPM to be around 2,5 and hope that the engine would have the torque to hold that speed in head wind, but it didn´t. Don´t get me wrong, it was much better, but not enough, so i was very disappointed with the results because the engine was revving back and fourth from 2,5 to 3,5 all the time except when driving down hills or wind in the back. Would love to have a solution in the T- case for the automatic, but i think it wouldn´t work either. Probably should put in a manual transmission or maybe it is better to run 33" tires or go with a 1,6 or 2L engine upgrade😄😄 working on the final video for this channel. 😪😪

The HKS charger kit seems a good opton too. I've tried to reach the Japan office but no answer. I maybe will try to get a word from HKS USA, but it will probably more expensive. A shop in Brazil has some videos of a couple of Jb74 they have supercharged to around 182HP's.

Part of the trouble with the new Jimny at the moment is a lack of performance parts for the drivetrain and engine, l am waiting for some lower low range transfer gears but leave high range as is because l don't intend to fit taller tires, 4 to 1 would be a sensible minimum giving it low 1st of 72.36 to 1 and low 5th of 16.36 to 1 (manual), this would help low speed driving and also give better downhill engine breaking, a weak point with the standard Jimny, using the brakes on some of the downhill tracks l have to drive would certainly result in loss of control, something that was never a problem in my Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

The engine and transmission is total crap

Should have dropped an older VW TDI 2 litre diesel and gearbox into it. Could of picked up one up from a donor car for a fraction of the price.

Hi, well that’s one way to go. There are so many options to upgrade the power, but I wanted to keep it as much Suzuki as possible 😄 maybe I will end up doing a engine swap👍 I recently heard about someone putting in a V8😆 who knows I might even do that!
@sillyoldbastard32803 жыл бұрын
@@thenewjimnychannel361 Nah. You don't want too much weight up front. Just missing that low down torque you need with the bigger wheels. It's disappointing they didn't thrown in a small diesel option as it would have covered a huge hole in the market particularly here downunder.

Electronically reprogram the gear ratios. - What? The author obviously lacks technical background.
@thenewjimnychannel3613 жыл бұрын
Hi Wacosh, I think there is a misunderstanding here. What I meant was that you can reprogram shifting points in the Ecu in American cars. Companies such as HPTuners offer this options in most US Cars. Here is a good article about the subject 👍 www.txchange.com/transgo.htm
