Thanks alot sir for sharing this valuable information.what tyre pressure should we maintain in 215 tyres? Tia
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 21 күн бұрын
Dear Rakesh ji, ideally tyre manufacturer should tell this based on rubber they have used and stock recommended tyre pressure. But let me try to answer it for you: I see in your other comment where you mentioned 90% of time you do offroad or drive in offroad conditions so it is advisable to drive with little lesser tire pressure (may be 1 or 2 point). When you drive on the highways, drive with stock recommendations. If you feel with least loads, it is bit stiffer on highways with stock pressure then reduce it with one point to make it bit comfortable. But if you are running with loads then you may increase it with 1-2 higher (not more than that). Do not increase the tire pressure in rainy, snowy and slippery conditions at all. In those conditions irrespective of loads reduce tire pressure by 3-4 points for safety perspective. Hope, this helps. 👍

Great video sir 👍 Learnt many new aspects. I have done Gombor ronjan - Shinkula late season in stock /Brezza tyres and completely agree it's quite a challenge . Luckily we survived even with a FWD car. Also Manali - Kunzum la pass is basically a river bed road. Tyres are really tested there. At the end , I am quite convinced even stock tyres are very good 👍 Adding to the discussion with 215 ; I may add there is slightly more struggle with Jimny steering as well. The car tends to drift more along the natural slope of the road with the heavier/ wider tyre. Hoping that companies in India start making more of the 195/80 with more agressive tread. I do think MRF has one but didn't get to see many reviews with that one
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
My Friend, I am glad you found some new or additional information. :-) It is kind of nightmare to incline from Gonbo Rangjan to Shinku La specially in winters with snow. Otherwise also it is not an easier task. It challenges vehicle and human both. Good thing about Brezza is the NA engine (Hopefully petrol) and NA engines designed for less oxygen to operate with. No external pump like turbo needed. I soon publish a video on this subject as well. I drive many times along with ChandraBhaga in Lahul Valley after crossing Kunzum La. This 80Kms patch may take even 8-10 hours as well. For more habitual, may be just 6 hours. One of the toughest patch in India like Zansker, Such pass and many other similar patches which are there from years challenging travelers. Well, thicker tires in such situation struggles more because offer more friction and many people start blaming the engine which is not good. I am also on the way to make a video who is real culprit. :-) I am enjoying stock tyres and very cheap because people sell them and I buy them. :-D I am with you on tyres, I do not think the companies will manufacture 195/80 R15 for offroad vehicles, they will only manufacture LT tyres only. Hope for the best. I am enjoyed and enjoying stock tyres. In heavy snow, it hardly matter AT or H/L, one have to have snow chains. MT may change the drive in heavy snow but at last those also need snow chains. So better to use snow chains in stock tyres :-) Isn't it? A valueable comment, thanks mate!

What should be the correct pressure of 215/75/15 upgraded Yokohoma AT tyre in Jimny?
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Just one point extra at max e.g. 27 if 26 was recommended. Ideally, the tyre manufacturer should say this based on rubber they have used and recommend tyre pressure of the stock tyres. Please do not inflate much because AT tyres have a bit harder rubber normally than the stock so it become stiffer for the suspension and ride quality both. Hope, this helps!

How you avoid traction control popping on uneven road, it makes annoying abs noise particularly in left front wheel
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 19 күн бұрын
If it is really traction control popping then you may switch it off during off-road whenever not required so there will be no braking on wheels during TC works. Sometimes we do not need to stop revving the wheels. The front left tire looks weird to me except the abs module mounted at left. If you are more elaborate this then I will jump in with more facts with greater proximity mate. BTW, this looks interesting 😊👍

@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Thanks my friend! :-) Well, this is more a question for tyre manufacturer based on few factors, e.g. existing recommendation in stock, rubber type of new tire, and definitely size etc. Just to answer your question 1 point extra should work but not more than that because ATs normally have harder rubber than the H/L. Hope, this answer your question.

My friend, Geo Thailand is a really good tyre with very aggressive treads, it must have bluish white letters embossed. It surely gives friction on highspeeds and a bit less avg. Good to hear you are enjoying the performance. I personally do not like half carrier because you can't distribute the weight all over. Otherwise, it is good, the main thing is the fitting. Working snorkeling is a good option, it will help a little not very significantly also you need to care at the car wash nobody is pushing water into. Hope, this helps! ☺️ Feel free to ask more questions! 👍

Sir, another great video. Thorough analyzing of the issue from multiple view points. Can u explain us sprung and unsprung weight?(weight above and below suspension). I suppose a small increase in the unsprung weight ( tyres) will increase the over all load on the vehicle drastically. What is the maximum permissible weight of the tyre with out creating unwanted strain on multiple vehicle components? Also if possible something that does not cancel warranty on multiple components. Once having fixed the maximum permissible weight of the tyre, then we can consider the available options, whether AT or MT.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Thank you! Well, unsprung weight of heavier or bigger tyre as I explained in the video is more on the engine who provide the torque and the suspension well and spring struts are also part of that. As a thumb rule if 3% increase the tire size is the safest bid and it will not put much pressure on the suspension and engine because things are designed for that much of tolerance. MT vs AT is more a usage parameters than the maximum permissible weights.
@vishkum2ru
@vishkum2ru Ай бұрын
Great sir. I assume you mean 3% increase in tyre weight and not size.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Well, personally I experienced up to 5% won't give issues in most cases. But the recommended safest bid is within 3% because it is a high and high ground clearance vehicle.
@vishkum2ru
@vishkum2ru Ай бұрын
Ok sir. Stock tyre weight is 9.5 kgs. 3 to 5 % weight increase means, we can go for a tyre that is maximum 10 kg. You said to keep the profile height the same in this video. What AT or MT tyre options (brands and size) will be available in that 10 kg range? How about AT and MT tyre options in 195 or 205 width?
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
3% is size, you can't do much with weight when you do an upsize. You probably will not see AT tire in 205 in India. There may be very few if at all available so the 195 next is only 215 with some constraints I talk about in video. Thanks 👍

Hi sir Very informative video ..Ian.from Kerala ,using. stock.tyres..Need to do snow ride on February for the mountaingoat..is the stock tyres enough..
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Thanks Mathew! This is a bit complex to answer straigtforwardly. But let me try it at my best. Well, there are many aspects of snow rides. Snow is a bit we commonly refer to all kind of snow terrains but you will see many different varities and situations and hilly terrains add on to this. If it is lots of slush with snow then these skinny shoes give you a grip but also how you drive is main thing. It is not just shoes, vehicle but most of the cases who drive it. I am not saying tyres won't play a role here. But please keep in mind if you go for one of best snow tire still you may need snow chains. At steep gradiants with icy snow, it is very difficult for any tire go smoothly up or down. Never every apply brakes while you are down hill with Icy snow (fresh snow is different). In fresh snow, there is no issues up to 1 foot if you can handle this decently. You experience matters, it hardly matter if you have 215/75 R15 tyres to deal with unless you don't know how to use either of these. Hope, you understand this. But discussion does not end here, please ask a specific question so I will answer it more firmly. Short Answer: Yes, you can handle snow conditions with these tires decently, I did many times little more than a feet snow (but hill gradiants make a lots of difference). Simple rule is, harder the tire lesser is the grip and go slow and steady to win the race in snow. If you are serious about snow and planning few times then buying snow chains is a good option (never use snow chains in rocky or on tarmac conditions). Also, never think that bigger tyres won't need snow chains. Hope, this answers to some extent. Feel free to ask as many as questions you like to, I will be glad to answer all of them. I am waiting for winters to shoot a videos to answers similar questions in snow condition. Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting! :-)

One thing learned from engineers NA can run higher compression ratio than FI Turbo, but GDI Turbo can run higher & are very costly. I am glad Suzuki kept NA engine for Jimny. Also thanks for saving money on tires, will buy Red Jimny Alpha AT in Nov, will use stock tyre for few thousand kms before upgrading to 215s. I hope Suzuki keep selling Jimny by then. Obviously higher pricing of Thar Roxx has given Suzuki opportunity to not offer discount, Jimny have been Unique only 5door 4x4 AT Petrol currently

I love your sensible comment but few things to add here: NA's are more reliable. FI Turbos are good but outperform in many situations. GDI Turbos are better but missused in India, companies saving money putting that against 3 cylinder engine which is waste of money including 3XO. How this companies making fool of people selling 13-14 lakhs vehicle with 3 cylinder, very bad. Best to buy NA, error free, proven and no complexity - straight forward. I am working on this topic and video will be out soon. Most welcome about tyres, test stock tyres, these will not disappoint you and best Highway rides among all - my tried and tested experience. Well, I like Thar but I never compare it with Jimny, both different vehicles in more than 90% of things. And specially ROXX, it is now totally a different segment. Jimny is not going anywhere, take my words. Lastly, a question: Any specific reason to buy AT?
