what a humble and honest dude talking about the discomfort of simply doing an interview. comes to show that now matter how badass an actor is to put theirself out there for their craft, they still have their insecurities. I find that more humanizing than tabloid bs.

This was one of the best interviews I have seen with Jim Parsons. Some of the interviewers are so into themselves that it takes away from their guest. Jim seems very comfortable with George and the repartee is smooth and guileless.

This was one of the greatest celebrity interviews I've ever seen. The host was trying to get us to see the core of Jim Parsons with the question about his favorite childhood memory and stuff like that. I really liked it, Jim just seems like a really sweet man and thats kinda comforting.

Excellent interview, very informative, made this little poem on the spur of the moment, but not about the interview. I heard this little ditty, one day on TV, I thought it kinda pretty, and it still has stuck with me. Hear it in my head, it's there all day long, Even when it's time for bed, I still hear that "KITTY" song. Thank you Sheldon Cooper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, he's nothing like his character on the Big Bang Theory. He has people skills, he's not a chronic germaphobe, and he has nothing to do with science. His degree is in theatre. I think the stage would frighten Dr Sheldon Cooper. I think being brutally honest with complete strangers would also disturb Sheldon who is inherently conservative & private.
@brunoais10 жыл бұрын
I still think he is a whole lot like Sheldon (he represents) except he has a quite different personality. Stage frightness and having people's skills has nothing to do with being an aspie or not. In this interview he shows a lot of characteristics related to being an aspie. Look at the variation (number) of his facial expressions, where he looks at when answering, the tone of voice used when talking, the hand movements used, eye contact, etc... Any of these alone are no signs but all together is a good sign of asperger's syndrome. I can tell that also because I know someone well that has been diagnosed.
@shanghainoon782910 жыл бұрын
brunoais the actor even admits that he has a lot in common with the character, but I doubt that Sheldon is someone that would enjoy theatre. The very idea of company outside of his circle of friends scares him. He's an introvert, and theatre is primarily for extroverts.
@brunoais10 жыл бұрын
Shanghai Noon Yep. That's what I mentioned. Different personality :).
@shanghainoon782910 жыл бұрын
brunoais and very different interests. Physics is a whole world away from the stage. He's also playing a heterosexual on the show.
@brunoais10 жыл бұрын
Shanghai Noon That's part of having a different personality :). P.S. I'm not shotting down what you are saying. I can find information that says that it is true. It's just that those are not things considerable for not consider him an aspie.

The host George is very good at what he does. He's very attentive, he asks some really great unique questions and never the bland, cliche, boring questions. And because of that, guests enjoy being interviewed because they get to open up their mind and be themselves. Parsons is a cool guy. Glad he's doing well.

Parsons on Sheldon: "he's tone deaf to the human voice". That isn't merely a metaphor: it is literal. Assuming Sheldon is Aspergers (which isn't necessary to assume), recent research into the neurobiology of emotion and communication has implicated the vagus nerve as the region which modulates social and parasympathetic experiences. The more recently evolved - and uniquely mammalian - ventral tract of the vagus, called the nucleus ambiguus, innervates supra-diaphragmatic regions, such as the facial nerves, as well as the nerves of the inner ear. This nerve complex - called the ventral vagal complex - facilitates social engagement. It literally includes everything we need to socialize: larynx, pharynx for vocalization; facial muscle to convey emotion; and the detached middle ear bone, which allows us to hear the distinct tonality of the human voice. In Aspergers, something in this brain area is not working right, which makes it very hard for aspergers people to discern meaningful information in facial changes, vocal changes (sarcasm) etc. So literally, Sheldon (if he were real) does not hear sarcasm.

Chelsa Simpson in the minds of most Americans, if it's Canadian, it's not as good as American, therefore they don't even bother. Best example I can give you is the Tragically Hip, a band that almost every Canadian knows, but cross the border and almost no one's ever heard of them. It's mind-boggling how xenophobic Americans are.

We have such amazing talent in Canada. I wish they'd recognize it. Neil Young is one of our greatest that has somehow managed to transcend being Canadian.
