Scott is an excellent instructor. Improved my shooting by light years. I took a weekend class and I'll be working through everything I learned for a long time to come. Sign up for one of his, or his instructors' classes. Good luck, because they fill up very fast.

Love these, Thank you for putting out great videos. Just a little tip, (with the utmost respect)- I know you mentioned you only carry the holster with the extra magazine when you go into “sketchy” areas. Remember your not only carrying for the extra round count, but carrying an extra magazine in case of a malfunction, if it drops, etc. which can occur in any environment. Just my piece of advice. Love your stuff man!
@jimmybrodriguez2 жыл бұрын
Trade offs. We make trade offs with all our decisions. Carrying the extra mag makes it harder to conceal so I have to be even more conscious about what I’m wearing and carrying.

Excellent video, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. @11:47 I'm finding that limiting shoulder movement to be a huge task at the moment. I can mimic "arms no shoulder" draw but as soon as I do it with holster/pistol on it just falls apart. Please keep us posted on how you progress with this aspect of the draw. Thank you :D

It sounds dumb but I have no problem carrying a striker fired gun without a safety and even carry my M&P 2.0 with an apex flat faced trigger with about a 2.5lb pull but for some reason the thought of carrying a staccato appendix makes me nervous. Mainly the fact it's single action.
@cedartop12 жыл бұрын
I realize you probably know this because you say it sounds dumb, but a 2011 with two safeties is going to be far safer than a fully cocked M&P with a 2.5 pound pull. Now either is just fine if using safe drawing and holstering practices.
@ayjmedia2 жыл бұрын
@@cedartop1 Exactly. Safe drawing, holstering practices and holster quality. Nothing against Apex but imo, I would never rely on a third party trigger for a carry gun. I came from Glock over to Staccato. The 2 safety features kinda bugged me at first but you get used to it and understand why you need it after feeling that trigger. There's even some people who disable the grip safety (which I wouldn't recommend).

I watch a lot of gun videos! Every "training" video I see, the "instructor" uses a AIWB. I have only seen one person, Ken Hawthorn, drawn from a 5 o' cock position. I have not been able to find AIWB comfortable no matter where I position it. So ask Scoot or A.J. move there gun to the side or use an instructor who wears his CCW on his side.
@TerminalM1932 жыл бұрын
Check out hidden hybrid holsters. They have amazing options for every point of carry. I had your exact same issue but hiddenhybridholsters completely changed everything for the better! It's a leather / kydex holster but on the back portion that touches your body is like a felt material that's softer than bunny fur. The kydex allows for a custom fit plus a retention system that allows you to set your own retention pressure on the fly while the backing leather allows for a nice, form fitting system to your body while the soft felt feels like a nice, soft and cool material on your skin. I've went through probably a dozen holsters for each of my main carry, "glock 19 & s&w M&P shield plus". I wish I found out about hidden hybrid holsters a long time ago. I wont go with another company ever again! Hope this helps!
