Your channel is evolving so much. There is more much tactical / shooting instruction now with your move to long range than there was before. I LOVE the gear videos and they are really necessary, but these application videos of shooting principles using the gear you previously discussed is SO IMPORTANT. WOW. Thank you!

I prefer the previous set angle. Also, the audio mix is a little different in this one-kind of dull and bassy. Not sure if the set change is related. Otherwise, I love all the content. Thanks for the perspective you’re sharing with our community. I’m learning a lot-especially how much I have left to learn.

I know this is an older video but I noticed on your ipsc you have scope height measured as 1.54". That is the height of the mount over the rail. What you want for collecting accurate dope is the distance from centerline of bore to centerline of optic, which will be slightly higher than 1.54" causing your dope errors to be more exagerated the farther out you go.
@allthecommonsense

What did you use to record the visuals from your optic? Didn't see anything in the description.

So heres what I do. My 18” SPR rifle is rocking a 1-8x PA PLX Griffin Mil. I have my holds confirmed from 0 to 600 to a waterline. I shoot a bunch of PRS so I’m comfortable with dope and reticle holds. The struggle is usually with distance but I think that’s because in PRS events it’s always given.

@@rich1958 I have an 18-inch Proof Research stainless barrel in an Aero upper. It hammers, during load development the largest group was 1 MOA. I’m running 23.8gr of IMR 4064 with 77gr SMK in Lapua brass for 2,650 fps. That said, I’m pretty happy with it

Bear in mind that MBPR was developed by hunters decades ago so they could just hold center on whatever animal they were aiming at. It was realistically intended for shots out to 300ish yards.

For your maximum point blank range zero are you slipping the turrets to your regular zero and then dialing up one mil, or is dialing up one mil your slipped zero?

Target size in mm/ mils is king for milling. A 500 mm target 1 mil wide is 500 meters away. If it´s half that size it´s 1000 meters away. If it´s 2 mils it´s 250 meters away. 500mm/5 mils is 100m away. This is the best flash milling formula. In the past decade US snipers have finally started to use meters in order to simplify the milling formulas. So I assume that in the next 10-15 years you will move to this way.

Pretty sure your sight height is wrong. I think you are missing bore axis to the top of the reciever... Then add your scope height.

@@jimmybrodriguez I just got a brand new stainless rifle length 18” upper from a friend, ordered a Mk5 with some my refund… This entire series is gold my friend, great tips & tricks from people whose been there and done that. My thought was to try PRS/NRL with a 6 ARC barrel, do you think I could do it with the 556/223?
@jimmybrodriguez
@jimmybrodriguez Жыл бұрын
I’m doing it with my 556. My goal was not to get caught up in the gear race and focus on developing the skill. 6 arc will provide some benefits especially in wind but it’s dependent on your long term goal
