Excellent video, Jim. I can’t believe the LACK of videos on KZbin showing how to change brakes/rotors with an EPB.

Great video Jim, I’m working on my CC right now! And I found another video which shows you can retract the position with a 12V battery and a couple of wiring directed towards the motor connector assembly!

I also saw people do that on KZbin and I would not recommend doing that. That caliper is very expensive.You can get the right tool and they are not too expensive. Where are you located? Many of the big box store lend out tools if you buy the parts from them.

I dont know if any type of scanner will work coz I have tiguan 2019 and stop working on rear brakes because of piston standing in the way. If you have time please let me know what type of scanner did you use. Thanks and God bless

Hey Jim, I was wondering if you could recommend any video/links/etc. on how to replace the rear calipers with epb on my Volkswagen CC 2009. I am also unsure where to get the calipers but I'm assuming they come with the parts that are advertised on Rockauto, AutoZone, etc.

The “torx” for the mount is a Triple Square 14mm. Can be found at O’Reilly for about $15. (Comes with 14mm,16mm,18mm)

Can someone please tell me which wires should be power or ground to retrofit these 2007 D2 A8L calipers to another car? Which of the smaller wires are signal/trigger wires to activate the electromagnetic solenoid and clamp the rotor? Thank you

My bags bolt won’t fit in the hole in the top of the hose to connect it to the caliper. Everywhere I went they said it’s the right hose

Couldn’t you side step needing the tool if you didn’t apply the parking brake when getting brakes serviced on a VW CC?
@Classic_Re-creation2 жыл бұрын
No because when you press the button in the car to release the handbrake it only releases so far leaving about 1mm between the pads and the disk, to fit new pads you need to wind it back about 20mm to make room for the new friction material. If the caliper wound all the way out when you press the button it would take a few seconds to wind back in when applying the handbrake allowing the car to momentarily roll forward as the handbrake is trying to engage

Absolute rubbish, I've had my handbrake motor off 3 times to wind back the electric handbrake and water has never got in the electrics never got damaged, and btw the motors are £10 on eBay so it wouldn't matter if you did damage it, it's a serviceable part at that price.

As a backyard mechanic you can take chances but for any professional mechanic you open yourself up a law suit doing half as_ work. Thanks for your opinion.
