I’ve been studying your swing for two months and yesterday it clicked in. I had the best day golfing and it really came down to staying still and not thinking about anything. I love this swing.

Omg I've been going to the park for the last 2 weeks working on the swing and just couldn't get it right Occasionally hit some good shots. But I was having problems with that little draw, I couldn't get it then I went Sunday and play 9 holes shot a 42 couldn't get no distance 7 iron about a 100 yd and that's me swinging 80 percent as hard as I can. I'm 61 and I think my swing speed is about 90 to 92 or so, bu iI watched your little 9 hole video. You play 9 holes with the swing.speed of 87, so This Morning.I've got a at 7am went to the par And decided I was just going to swing nice and easy.And then it clicked, oh my gosh.I was hitting it pure.Can't wait to try it out at the corse.Thanks

I have tried this on and off for a long time, but always struggled and felt that I did not fix the pivot correctly - I have looked at Jim who seems to have a little bent lead knee after pivoting. I'd do the same and felt that I have 'hung' over my lead toe in this. Then the other day I took from an other instructor and used my heal - pivot into my lead heal AND that made ALL the difference ! By this pivot I get a sensation more of 'sitting down' and the club more in front of my and very easy to swing the arms and club on and inside/out path/channel and stay still ! til I am being drawn into a finish...! Thanks Jim !

Hi Jim . I have not played golf in 18 years.. stumbled on your channel and went to the range...wow! I hit 2 buckets of balls all straight down the middle. Amazing! Thank you!

Jim - very glad to see you uploading content again. I use your complete method and I'm hitting the ball very well. I'm 56 and still out drive and outplay my sons and pretty much everybody I play with. So many of them are over the top, or flip-cast with right hand and just can't grasp an inside path and quiet body.

I'm glad I came across your channel. I accidentally found a version of your set up due to a bad hip and back that restricted my turn. Just went out this morning and hit 40 balls concentrating on staying still and ot sounded like I was hitting the ball crisper. Better news is my back isn't sore

I'm having trouble with that moment at 2:19 in my traditional swing. You can really screw up if you try to extend your elbow early. I've been watching David Duval vids...Your release is ultra clean like his.

Been at th😊is method for a few months and doing great with my irons. But my driver is still a crap shoot…hit some great and hit some absolutely terrible, i.e., dribble several to the right at 45 degree angle no higher than three feet off the ground. How do I fix driver using this swing?

A couple thoughts regarding stillness and closed path. Part of the reason stillness creates power is because you are rooting yourself to the ground (so to speak). Boxers, pitchers and batters, soccer players, quarterbacks, tennis players, hockey players etc. create power by rooting themselves to the ground where they create and store energy. Obviously a weight transfer occurs as these athletes execute their movements but ground contact remains essential to storing and releasing power. A classic example we see every weekend in the fall is when a quarterback is forced to leave his feet to make a throw or has to throw across his body (esp. running left and throwing right for a right handed QB). As soon as they are unrooted, they lose a tremendous amount of power. Additionally, the reason that Thrower is more difficult than running right and throwing right it’s because the quarterback is among other things, using the full motion of his body. If you think about it, a well executed throw comes from closing your body to your target and then releasing the ball at the target. Some examples to highlight in part how your principles make sense and relate to other athletic activities.

With stillness are you concentrating-then on your hands in front of the ball on contact ?
@jimvenetosgolf5 жыл бұрын
John Vitalli no sir, that happens because of the set up.

Jim Venetos Golf Academy Jim I just shot 7 irons your way draws baby draws and it seems way easier to keep the ball in play a missed shot is slightly to the right but still in the fairway actually it is straight instead of a baby draw and more power 5 yards right , keeping your body still is way less stress on the back ..

Jim Venetos Golf Academy I have a question on the Driver swing your head is behind the ball right? Due that it is played by your left foot? I know on the iron swing your head is a head of the ball

On every swing, your right side delivers the power while your left is there to keep things in order and in sequence. These are two very important-and different-roles that you should train independently to create a smooth, consistent overall motion. To work on your trail-side move, grab a mid-iron using only your right hand and take a swing like I’m doing below. You don’t need to hit a ball for this drill, but you can if you’d like to. This is a quote from a ‘ Top 100 instructor.’ I don’t agree with any of it.

I notice that you shift weight forward in the downswing. That increases weight on your left side prior to impact, and also changes where you will make contact with the ball. (center has moved forward) Contradicts the keeping still philosophy. Could you please address that? Btw, I am changing my swing from conventional to still, good results so far.

Sounds like you’re not clear on what I refer to as stillness and what exactly stays still. All explained in my school.

@@jimvenetosgolf people don't seem to understand your body can move or how else would you swing the club your weight needs to be still on your lead side not your entire body when you keep your weight still on the lead side tour body hips move the way there supposed too i recommend they join the school to truly understand
