Yesssss!!!! Jess thank you! The last week or 2 I couldn’t figure out why I had so many heel strikes and thin shots….also fat shots lol been following stack and tilt since this summer. So many times I lose my swing with horrible shots not knowing what I’m doing wrong. Went to an indoor range with a trackman system and video footage. I noticed even though i think im keeping my hands in, but im not. And my club path is traveling upward instead of around in a plane. So my hands were being raised without realizing it, which would cause my club to come down too steep on a different plane. Tried hands in more with having the club come back lower to not raise the hands, already see a difference in strikes on my divot board. Gotta get out to hitting to see if I can stop with the bad strikes

Yes informative video, another required puzzle piece of the S&T golf swing. At the driving range yesterday I was trying to keep my hands in on the down swing. The feeling I was using was sort of an underhand, close to the side with my right arm skipping a stone, as I turn my upper body back to and through to the ball. Am I on the right path with this thought/feeling? Thanks,Dave

Jess, I have watch a lot of your videos, but have gone back to review this one as perhaps not keeping the hands in on the backswing as required. When you are swinging to half way back is there any independent swinging of the arms or simply a turn (and tilt) of the body providing the hands in effect?
@JessFrankGolfAcademyBocaRaton3 жыл бұрын
Yes there is tilt turn and the arms and hands trace the arc in on the backswing and follow through.

I’m left handed and I’m having a really tough time grasping the hands in concept I’ve been watching your videos and am a devout stack and tilt student but the hands in principle just makes me think of the alligator arm swing and seems to bind my swing up
@JessFrankGolfAcademyBocaRaton4 жыл бұрын
Hey Larry! Thanks for commenting but the hands in should be combined with keeping the arms straight. You could be over doing the hands and club in remember it always traces the arc.
@wenbray63964 жыл бұрын
Good basic reminder of how important it is not to roll hands in takeaway. As a better player at times I roll hands in on takeaway too and it is a killer for consistency. Unfortunately the concept is easy but doing it all the time is the hard part.

Hands in on the follow through is not easily seen as important. Your explanation indicates that keeping hands in both on backswing and downswing and follow through is Hogans instruction. But he didn’t emphasize the follow through. It was more about the backswing and downswing. So for me there was a blind spot in the attempt to learn the fundamentals. Thanks
