It isn't good in some other scenarios, which is what I was used to (When you want to delay LL, Yukong tuning) So use Technique in most cases, especially with Tingyun, my bad! Jing yuan main here, I pulled his lightcone because I loved his design, now he his my main damage dealer since 1.0, I've used him so much I can't imagine myself playing the game without him, I even pulled topaz just to use him even more, I also have imbibitor lunae with his lightcone but I like jing yuan even more than him even though he is weaker

He has always been a top DPS since Day 1 and he's better than ever now because most of his weakness has been nullified. He was the only limited DPS who couldn't use Bronya to buff his main source of damage, now Topaz does that job and with Huo Huo energy regen added with Asta's speed boost or Ruan Mei boosting both speed and his already hideous break potential, makes him part of the fastest team in MoC

bunnysuit jingyuan for the win, amazing work guoba. there are 2 things i wished were added to this video. 1) damage distribution between his skill + ULT and his follow up talent percentage wise, in terms of ST and AOE scenarios:- this might help people not sleep on his non follow up dmg. 2) just a little bit more clarification on why the technique isn't recommended:- i've tried all the jingyuan playstyles, be it 8 stack lightning lord or 10 stack lightning lord, the results were you will only get 1 lightning lord per cycle, regardless if you optimize AV or not. which is why you always want to 10 stack it by JY moving twice. other than those 2 minor details that are entirely really not fundamental, i think you did JY justice😙

Been clearing content just fine with him since I got him day 1. LL can be annoying to play around at times but have you ever watched a 10 stack fully buffed LL just drop Celestia Nails onto the enemy? Incredibly satisfying. All Hail The Jing! That said, I really wish you went slightly more in depth on Lynx since her cleanse is on demand too and you basically have it up whenever you need it to cleanse JY since he isn't always guaranteed to be stunned and after LL in initiative. She provides skill points and can hold all of the great support sets

Managed to get full star clears about 2 months in with just Jing + Sushang/welt main dps (using breakfast LC). I have to admit that it was hard to call him good, but it was always enough if you knew what you were doing (you won't get speedrun clears most of the time but it works). Had friends confused why they couldn't even with more meta chars. Unlike Genshin, most of the chars here are very viable which is pretty cool

Jing Yuan is my first 5 star character and main. Seeing him getting indirectly buffed by released characters and relics makes me hyped. With Fu Xuan, Ting yun, and Huohuo in the team I think he will perform at his best in any given situations he encounters. I'm not saying Jing Yuan's now better than any 5 star but i'm just generally happy for my boy and still cope at the corner everytime he's powercreeped. (I'm a happy coping Jing Yuan main, I skip banners to pull buffers.)

@homudark I dunno man, I've been using him since day 1 with less investment than you and he has never struggled to do his part in MoC, even with Daniel on the other side. Maybe his team will take a couple cycles more, but I have never once thought he underperformed to a degree that felt like it was hurting my progress. And this was all before all the recent buffs like Topaz and Huohuo and the new set. I've tried plenty of other characters, because I like playing around with different teams, but the Jing Yuan/Topaz comp has easily become my favorite/most fun now. My Daniel team is strong, but it is more boring, because it's all about funneling everything in to Dan to ECB3. Hypercarry comps just are never as fun, and I'm glad they are becoming less the only real option.

@homudark If you think Topaz is mid then we're never going to agree on anything. She is fantastic and absolutely my favorite character to play in the game. She completely reinvigorated my enjoyment of the game when it was becoming pretty routine. If you enjoy being an extreme meta slave to the point you can only accept being able to 0 cycle MoC10 then that's your business. But you live in a very niche part of the community. There are 0 advantages to that accomplishment, so if you're not having fun and pulling characters you think are boring I would rethink how you approach the game.

my jing yuan is pretty much built with 141 speed around 90% crit rate with fuxuan, and 180 crit damage on the new set but i'm really excited about what teams new characters like hanya open up!i might make a second build with attack boots to try her out. anyway this guide is really good, i feel like a lot of people don't know that 134 speed is very workable with just e1 tingyun as a sole buffer and you usually consistently get 10 stacks really consistently

About technique - if you run with TY you want to always use it, because it perfectly synergises with TY's ult at the start of the fight, allowing to get 10 stacks LL and then resets the rotation.

But, now I can clear MoC pretty high (hit or miss on stage 10) consistently, and I have been playing with Himeko, who I also disliked gameplay wise but now I found myself to be enjoying her gameplay quite a bit. This was great. I have been looking for an updated Jing Yuan guide for a while now. He is still the most effortlessly cool general but a lot has changed from the early days, so it’s great to get up to date advice. Surprised to hear one shouldn’t get those LL stacks before the battle. I’ve been doing that every time. Not sure my brain is functional enough for the more optimal speed building (I usually just run him with E2 Bronya, E6 Tingyun and now swapped Bailu for HuoHuo.) Needing to update character guides kind of proves that HSR is a good game. They care for the older units too, giving them new ways to get better or be played differently. I lost the 25/75 last time and didn’t have enough jades saved to pull more. But when he returns definitely going for the LC with a vengeance.

LL loses priority after 2+ targets at 3 targets and later JY himself deals more of his dmg actually. we found he is generally superior with atk boots on every way unless u run him with topaz at duo dps set up or at solo dps calculations. I mained him back in 1.0. I spent 180 pulls to pull his e0 which has pretty low chances (which is around 1 in 196 trillion chance) to happen. U really are the top dog of this community man. Ure loved at least by myself.Take care of yourself and deliver those bangers.

The 25% CDMG is for LLord not the rest, unless you have proof otherwise? Cause testing showed its just for LLord. ATK% boots is worse DMG and less stacks until you get SPD / advance buffers from testing and calcs, but since we got so many they turn out great :) Thanks for the nice comment

It used to show that extra 25 percent crit dmg after 6 stats at main stats menu back in 1.1-1.2 now it doesnt my bad again(It was most likely a bug or a secret nerf :) ). And atk boots is with support units of course i dont think anyone would run him without supports unless u run him with the clearly superior BREAK build. There are more than just 140 speed threshold for him. It is also 170 and 200 threshold which you can achieve by having Bronya (virtual speed) or Asta on hackerspace. 140 speed allow 2 turns before LL with the pattern of E E-Ulti for 10 stacks. 170 speed which is achieve by having speed boots and TY asta allow the attack pattern of E-Ulti (Or Ulti-E) E for 10 stack. This will speed up the LL quite a bit and fits well with the tech opening of JY as his first turn will be Ulti-E leaving him at 35 energy. Then he clear the wave/kill enemy, TY buffing him ultimate again and he get to his turn using skill and get enough energy for another ultimate rightaway, it will be the E-Ulti. And with the speed buff from asta and TY he will get to the threshold and E again before the LL move and this also make him at 35 once again ready for another TY round if she is fast enough. And she should be fast with wind set so she get 2 turns in cycle 0 wave 1 before the LL move and generate 1 more skill point, get 1 more turn for her to channel the ultimate. 200 speed requires specific setup to get. It requires 135 speed JY, lvl 12 Asta hackerspace and TY buff to get. To do this you need to use JY ulti right after the LL move or at the wave starts, then with all these buff, his effective speed will be 200 for that one turn allow him to get another E before LL. The pattern is now Ulti (after LL move or wave start) then E and E. However, this is usually very bad because all of the speed buff will run out and he will not be able to get 2 turns before LL in the next cycle (but it worth a try in 0 cycle attemp I guess). So reaching over 135 speed for JY is not recommended. Rather him not reaching that speed he will move shortly after the max speed LL and speed up the LL next cycle while being able to move again before it move for another 2 skill. With how many way to manipulate the "average LL speed" there are many way to speed tune the support around him to maximize the value. Like setting up the Past and Future LC into LL and JY right after for huge bonus damage in YK JY team. Different in the timing of JY ulti affects how fast the LL is heavily so there are ton of way to circumvent his limitation int your benefits. Like as mentioned above with TY, even with tech opening you can get TY (and other support like asta) to move before the LL move in the first wave which generate more skill point and energy for themselves. And JY doesn't need the 2nd turn to clear the first wave will benefits himself a lots for the 2nd wave as the TY buff has yet to run out so TY can have another free turn to attack before having to buff JY energy again and his buff up time will be better overall (Asta speed buff or Bronya ulti buff is still there at 2 turn for example). Those are things he rarely get talked about. 2 turns ulti JY should be the standard for calculation and measurement I think if he is TY team. It is totally not hard to get it for him considering how easy it is to abuse TY wave 1 stuff to get extra hit/turn and the basic team with 0 speed JY and Asta TY can achieve that quite consistently. There is a very huge different in the rotation damage between 10 stack LL and 8 stacks or 7 stacks and it is even more important in 0 cycle meta. If not in TY team he can be in HH team for 3 turns ulti. Beside that team the next top is probably JY TP Asta/Hanya/Bronya/Mei and hh for 3 turns ulti. If you use TP for JY, may as well going for AOE buffer to get the best out of both carriers. HH will allow everyone to get 3 turns ulti cycle which is very good and consistent. Oddly enough as people think JY is TY dependant, he manage to break out of the TY team comfortably now with topaz

Thanks for all the content, Guoba! It's always a joy to watch, and super informative too! 💕 Jing Yuan is the only event DPS I play; along with Clara, Qingque, and well-built supports, he's helped me steamroll all the content in the game. I got taken in by the "JY powercrept, can't clear without whale level investment" stuff early on (which I now would argue bordered on straight-up misinformation) and felt a bit bummed, because he's my favourite character tied with Tingyun, but after fully investing in my guy and getting used to his playstyle, I can't help but be satisfied. Not only is he clearly fluffier than any other character, which is a meta consideration many people forget to take into account, he's made a voiced appearance in every single story update to date, as well as getting indirect buffs with every patch in the form of new teammates and relics. He seems to be quite beloved by the devs, and certainly by me as well. I'm f2p so I instinctively skipped his weapon on release, but will definitely be saving up to get it on his rerun, or maybe even multiple copies for Qingque and Himeko too. I get that there are some aspects of his kit that are a little clunky, but the backloaded damage is actually quite satisfying, and the design feels super deliberate. You use his true AOE skill+ult to wipe out mobs/adds, allowing for LL to focus on any remaining bosses or elites. It feels satisfying to tee up those big hits, and gives him a surprising amount of flexibility for an AOE-focused character. The only time it doesn't feel as good to play him is if I get a simulated universe run going with a lot of speed and action-advance blessings, because you'll just watch him take 20 turns in a row while LL waits politely in the wings. If his LL could take action immediately upon reaching 10 stacks that would be seriously amazing… but maybe too imbalanced, haha!

I played alot when the game came out and built up a lot of tickets for him to be my first 5* banner nab and was thrilled when I did. But i fell off with other games and am only now returning. This is great to help guide me on who to get with him especially because i missed out on a lot of other characters.

I pulled Jing Yuen when he came out and I regret nothing! I pulled his E1 and his weapon to boot. I struggled getting him happy artifacts but that's at peace now. Oddly enough I run him with Gepard/Blade/Luocha and they can just maul anything to death. I went on the journey to get Asta and Tigyun in tip top shape for him.

Thanks for this video, especially the tips on speed. JY is my favorite character and go to guy in MoC and SU so it's nice to see him get some appreciation again. I think the whole thing about LL's random hits is a little overblown. It's not something I've ever had a real problem with. My biggest problem in the past was crowd control, but any DPS can have that happen and it's always annoying. Fu Xuan has pretty much solved that problem for me and I also have Luocha if i need to switch up my sustain units in teams. I just made my Luocha faster so hopefully he'll be even better at cleansing debuffs.

I loved Jing Yuan when he first released and I've been using him regularly because I like an Elation team for my weekly SU clears. I was very excited for this patch, but relic farming has been nothing but pain so far. Oh well, just a matter of time, I will get a good follow-up relic set eventually. I also picked up Huo Huo after failing to get FX and have been super happy with her. It feels like she super-charged my teams, since I didn't have Luocha either.

I run JY, Silver Wolf, Pela, and Du Xuan and they are pretty good for Jing Yuan since their debuff duration is tied to the enemy's turns, which means being able to take multiple turns against an enemy allows for consistent debuff uptime (especially for Pela). That helps with the skill point usage too from my experience

Can we have an honorable mention for Blade as a valuable teammate for Jing Yuan? He fills a similar spot to Topaz's in Jing Yuan's teams, taking care weaker enemies so that Lighting Lord's bounce mechanis aren't too erratic. He was literally a lifesaver during the Imbibitor Lunae trotter blessing that messed up Lightning Lord, and ever since then I've been using them together for certain MoC content. They work really well together.

Hello, I want to have some clarification at 8:08. If Asta wants 3 turns each 2 Jing Yuan turns, it's actually 195 SPD. The faster Jing Yuan goes (which is typically some Hackerspaces, Tingyun E1, some SPD subs), leads to a 215-240 SPD requirements. Even if you soften the requirements a bit (giving Asta some leading buffer room), you will still need around 200 SPD for a typical speed stacking setup. If you pay some SP, the speed requirement of Asta will drastically goes down. EE AAA is 165-178 SPD. EE EE AAA is around 140-150.

Im not a pure Jing Yuan main but he at E0S1 has carried me in my earlier stages in HSR, also I usually run him with my Bronya(134 spd and 198 CD) while my Jing Yuan is at 101 spd and yet my Bronya is SP neutral and my Jingyuan consistently gets 7 stacks on LL.

I run my Jing Yuan on Tingyun, Huohuo and Fu Xuan (because my sustains are still weak to sustain alone) and he randomly did 300k+ with LL when I was farming Phantylia. My supports have the most randoms relics ever so I'm pretty happy with that. King Yuan indeed.

Tbh I pulled for him because when I started playing during Seele's banner, while she had the reset mechanic I still wanted an AoE unit. However I knew that in most games, AoE was just good in clearing multiple mobs but suck against single target. But JY isn't like that at all, yeah he's Erudition but his LL still hits like a truck against single target enemies, essentially removing the problem I had mentioned above, he's Erudition with a bit of a Hunt on the side. So I pulled for him. Outside of gameplay factors, pulled for him cause he hot xD
