Yes I did watch your video and I did some light groups on my dmx 2.0 but I couldn't chose different kind of lights

Alex nitro you just hold ctrl and left click on each fixture you want in the group and in the order you want them to be in and then click that plus button in the builder. That will add that group to whatever number that becomes active.

That is in no way gaurenteed that a new mydmx product will come out at ldi. Just saying, if it were that's where we'd debut it. Lol.

with the fanning effect, can a scene be created? if so, how would you save a fanning effect scene?

You just save the scene, fanning is not an effect, its just an easy way to fan out moving heads or color mixing.

Great videos, can you sound a little more excited in you vids?How can you slow down your scenes in the live window to keep in time with the music. Also how do you do a blackout, do you have a button to press or need to make a special scene with no lights on.

bladderpaste I did a scene with no lights on.. basically all virtual faders in down position and named that scene BLACKOUT....

jaime alquisira it should come installed with the program. If it is greyed out. Your buddy license is not high enough to use the 3D.

jaime alquisira yes. If the buddy also has the license for the 3D. But the rest of the features shown should work no problem on the buddy.

I really wish easyview was actually that effective at showing the lights. half of the fixtures in my show do not even register a light when the DMX field is active... they just sit and turn on and off nonstop regardless of what I have programed in my scene. it's actually rather frustrating

Which lights exactly? The 3D is still a beta, and being worked on, even i did some tweaking to some profiles to get a few to work for this video. email me, jamesk at american dj dot com and i can maybe help.

Chavet's: Kintax, Circus, Oceana Omni System's: RetroScanGPro Shnip's Laser System: DL-55C AMERICAN DJ's: UltraHex Bar 6, XS400 None of these even register as an active light, just a fixture... the first three do show a beam, but they just cycle between on and off. I understand what you are saying by, this program is just a "BETA"... but come on... seriously... this program has been out and on the active market for well over 3-4 years. And it is being sold and marketed with a dongle and program that could be only used with itself and that program is still a buggy "BETA" as well, after years of being marketed and sold. Honestly guys... this is why most people who bought this have moved on to other far more stable, user friendly and functional programs and dongles... you NEVER made sure that the program (which is why people would buy it in the first place) was ever at a truly mass marketable function level. In fact I just saw on your website that you have a new MyDMX out... which is really upsetting as I still don't have a fully functional MyDMX here, and now I will be expected to buy a NEW ONE!?! Your opinion on that please?

Well the lights you named were never promised to fully work in the 3d, and some probably are a bit tricky to even get light output. The 3D was never intended to be used for those types of lights, the 4 headed scanner, the oceana or anything with dots or not a single beam. Basically the 3D is best for moving heads, scanners, par cans, washes etc. I could maybe get the Retro scan to work, but i'll have to look at the profile. Also the LEd bar fixtures are tricky, but can work. Like i said we are working on 3D fixture objects. the 3D has been a huge undertaking, there are many issues when doing a 3D for mac and windows, but we are determined to keep at it. In Fact the MyDMX 2.1 software has a update coming soon with a very nice and re-done 3D with enhanced light rendering. the new interface you see is the 2.1. It is replacing the 2.0 as we stopped making that hardware earlier this year, so we could update the chips and add some more functionality. The new 2.1 software is exactly the same and can be used on the 2.0 box just the same as before, it's really a name change to help reflect which interface can work with it. you don't need to buy anything.
