I really like wood pens. They have a nice tactile feel in the hand. Love the grain on this pen. I never heard of the mini 100. Why Jinhao did not offer a full sized version is unknown. I will have to look for it. That many of the Jinhao parts can be interchanged is a definite plus. Great review, Chris.

Thank you for the review, Chris. Two new beautiful pens. I like the wooden / black one. Very classy. I have a Jinhao 100 Centennial in orange. Very happy with it. Pleasant pen.

I have the mini in black wood....the nib was not pleasant... So, I took the nib from a Kaco Edge and now it is really a nice little pen.

Hi Chris! Very interesting and documented review; very important to give the various price indications according to the suppliers. Another interesting variant of the excellent Jinhao production, with already well-tested nibs. Thanks for all!

I guess I’m not tinkerer. I don’t enjoy trying to adjust the nib or feed, although it is satisfying when I’m able to improve the writing experience. The problem is I tend to overdo the procedure and in most cases I end up destroying the nib. 5:24

I always tinker. Yes, sometimes I break it but then there is the times it gets better.

I have a 100 Mini, thanks to Doug of Inquiring Minds, and it is a wonderful pen. It is a wood one, however at a casual glance it's not obvious. The stain is almost as dark as the cap and end of the body. Has a nice writing nib. It does feel like a quality pen and looks classy.

@@chrisrap52 After I watched your video, I went and grabbed my 100 mini to try it out. It had been o. Its side, Inked up, unused, for a little over a month. It was a little hard starting, but with a tiny bit of pressure it worked well. I've had more expensive pens that have been more problematic.

Hi Chris, I have a question. It's not about the pen you presented in this video, but about the Moonman 80. I bought the pen some 4 years ago. In the beginning, I was very satisfied with the pen. However, lately the pen seems dry out quite rapidly. I think the problem is that the ink is not flowing well from the converter into the feed. Whenever the pen dries up, what I did is turn the 'screw' of the converter a tiny bit, until I see ink almost dripping from the nib. The pen will then write quite well for a couple of pages before I have to repeat the process. What do you think is happening with my pen, and what should I do to solve the problem? I've used a different converter, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. I hope I described the problem well enough. I'm not really familiar with terminologies used in the fountain pen world, so I might be using confusing or incorrect terms. Also, I'm not a native English speaker. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Pen needs to be completely cleaned out. Flush with warm soapy water. Clean until water flows out clear.

If you allow me, you don't need to change converters. The problem in the first hypothesis is in the feed. Well as Chris writes cleaning with warm soapy water, preferably dish soap. They have more surfactants. But it may not be enough. It is necessary to disassemble the nib assembly and examine every millimeter of the channel with a magnifying glass of at least 40X. Same exam for the feed flaps. The question is much more complex, but in the meantime you can try these actions.

Thanks, guys. I will try to clean the feed more thoroughly.
