Im always fascinated by how Roman is way too calm for what he's playing 😂😂...that guy is the chill❤
@candybanks87172 жыл бұрын
King of chill! Roman's tuning, tone, chord progressions, and note selection are always exactly what's right for the song. I love when he starts a riff, hands it off to Eugene and goes into a sequence of chords to start building the tension for the next section (like in the final section of Pisces). The way he and Eugene play together is as good as I've heard in the last 30 years. They make their instruments love each other! Then there's Vlad... Holy crap! They're getting ridiculous and better with each album. Throw in Super Girl and it's no surprise they always exceed expectations.

Guys... The reason the guitar isn't plugged in is that this a playthrough and not a cover. Playthroughs are simply to display how the song is played, which could actually help tab writers or people looking to cover.

Jazz school applied to metal. Great idea. I love it so much. Many unuasual chords, like add2, and diminished and m7b5. A new kind of rock. Very creative and brilliant.

new kind of rock? jazz fusion metal bands are like 30 years old, Cynic is the one them, Atheist, Exivious and more, and those bands has A LOT more interesting riffs and music. but I do like Jinjer so I'm not going to argue who is better

I think Roman's style, technical skills, sound and approach and his approach to composition is unique. He's actually created a style of playing. At this time I'm calling it Speed Riffing. Nothing to do with "shredding". In effect, his style eliminates any kind of "shred" element. Makes it redundant. He's combined amazing rhythmic timing with the speed element found in shredding into one unique thing. I do not think many other guutarists could cover these parts. It boarders on grid accuracy. Maybe it actually is way down to the 32nd note level on agrid. Anyway. It took me a while to perceive what is is doing. In sum: Astonishing. Has to be the most underrated guitarist of the last 10 years. Plus his Zen demeanor is refreshing. No need for funny faces. Roman's Empire. He rules.
@rayblaisure25092 жыл бұрын
The playthroughs that this band provides are amazing in every way. Wow
@crazyredneck72445 жыл бұрын
Most of the time, for me, really technical guitarists have a tendency to be technical for the sake of being technical, and while it has the wow factor, really doesn't lend anything to the music other than that wow factor. Not true in this case. Roman's technical ability really complements Jinjer's music. He's definitely a guitar god, but without the pretentiousness. Roman has inspired me to learn guitar at my old age.
@infernapeDLS5 жыл бұрын
How old is old tho, you seem like ur 40 plus. Its never too old to learn a instrument !!
@crazyredneck72445 жыл бұрын
50. And it's going slowly. LOL I think had I taken the opportunity to learn as a kid, it would have been easier. That's why I'm starting out my kids who are interested in music at a young age.
@skullduggery16165 жыл бұрын
Very well spoken! I just started listening to these guitar play-throughs of Roman's and I gotta say - once you hear one, you realize how much of their wound is him, yet, like you say; it's integral to the song, and cleverly just takes it's place with the other three members efforts. Once of the many things I love about this band - it's always about the song.
@skullduggery16165 жыл бұрын
Ooops: wound - supposed to be sound. Geeesh....

Stunning guitar works without the need of long boring neck burning solos. The riffs already burn it. I like how metal evolved.
@d00mnoodle4 жыл бұрын
Respectfully disagree, solos like mr crowley or beyond the realms of death are what made Metal what it is. While it's true that the riff is the spine of the song and thus makes or breaks it. A trully superb solo makes a song from good to legendary!
@neilpatrickhairless2 жыл бұрын
@@d00mnoodle I agree that Beyond the Realms has a fucking killer solo. David Gilmour must have thought so too because the next year after Beyond came out, Floyd did Comfortably Numb which features a very familiar sounding lead guitar tone and feel

Guitar people... I’m an OLD metalhead, got into the heavy stuff in 83, etc. I’m embarrassed to say that I only caught onto Jinjer this year. Can someone tell me about Roman’s use of chords? Does he tend to have his go to chords (obviously the dissonant stuff), and he uses them creatively over their catalog? Or is he one of those fucking Jedi’s (probably) who uses so many different chords to do what he does? In most cases, one can learn 20% of what is needed, and it’s good enough to understand 80% of what’s going on. the ole, 80-20 rule? Wow, this guy is a master. Never have play through vid’s like this been interesting. This guy plays with such focus, intensity and clarity. In my 40 years of listening to metal, never seen a player truly like him. Props to this band, this guitarist; I hope it brings them all the success AND happiness they could have wanted.
