I spoke with all of them, last week in Zurich (14/06/2023). They are precious human beings with huge hearts, that have been through a lot and that, fortunately, due to necessity, survival skills, hard work and pure raw music talent, managed to escape their hard lives in Ukraine, but always helping those in need in their homeland, and never forgeting where they came from. I asked Eugene: I imagine that playing for you guys is cathartic and the best way to deal with the unfairness and hardships that life throws at you sometimes... He replied to me: Yes, and also, it is all that we know how to do (thankfully for us fans) and HAD TO KEEP ON DOING TO SURVIVE... For me, the humblest and more talented musical LEGENDS one can meet in this lifetime...

This song and video just hit so hard. As someone who has been in war zones and now has the privilege to go to bed and awake every day in safety and comfort, I can’t imagine how long much more emotional this song is for people who live this reality. What an incredible artistic accomplishment to make us feel some more of the pain and frustration they surely do.

"Which one is your favorite Jinjer song?" "Yes." I intentionally did not recommended this song because we knew we would get a video for it eventually (all Macro songs get one, Pausing Death is the last one I think). This song is obviously about the war in their home region in eastern Ukraine, the band fled further west in order to continue to make music and then was almost the entire time on tour until covid hit. They have another "heavy" song, No Hoard of Value, which has an excellent lyric video and is about the coal mining industry in their home region, which is one of the most hazardous working environments in the world and also one of the biggest coal mining industries in the world too.

some heavy jinjer song recommendations: have you listened to Ape? dude that track throws one's brain though like a corridor of crazy ad hoc riffs while maintaining an incredible flow and packing a heavy groove. captures chaotic aggression of mother nature. Ape is dual to The Prophecy similar to how Retrospection is dual to Dreadful Moments, which is a song heavy due to not only sound, but lyrical content as well, and emotion it is being delivered with. KoE album has this death metal flavor thrown into it, and contains some extremely brutal songs Sit Stay Roll Over (which is a jinjer classic), Dip a Sail, Under the Dome, that rather put your brain through a meat grinder. Also, Cloud Factory album has some heavy songs for sure, No Hoard Of Value is one

I have to admit that there's parts of this song I'm not a fan of, but it's reactions like these that make me see them in a different light. Great reaction! Btw, the heaviest Jinjer song has to be 'Under The Dome'. 'Sit, Stay, Roll Over' might also be in the conversation, but Under The Dome is just so dark. There's barely any cleans.

Favorites is hard. I feel like this is one of the most important. Certainly if I could go back in time and find my old rightwinger self and clockwork orange my ass, this would be high on my list of songs and videos. P.s. the video for the jazzy part makes me feel like the folks who made the video were influenced by Pan's Labyrinth. Nothing concrete I can point to, just something about the vibe.
@glebivanov63234 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you could be right. It looks like a Mad Tea Party by Guillermo del Toro. I'm not Tati so I can't be sure about the lyrics in that scene. But I have a feeling that I understand it and the reference to Mad Tea Party. I actually live not far from her native town. It seems we (me and Tati) faced at the time not the same but similar circumstances. As I know in Gorlovka they were harsher then in my town. But I can understand the "tea party" with the flavor of madness. It's like when everything seems usual, and you can sit in you home, eat your supper, drink you tea, watch the movie and go to bed. Everything except the fact that you hear the cannonade from your window, continiously. And sometimes you can feel the walls and floor shaking. All you can do about it - it's just abstract away from it and make a slightly mad "tea party" with your relatives or friends. And everybody are like "isolated bodies in a boudoir of helplessness" at that parties.
