As people have already commented Sean, the drummer in this video is Dmitry Kim, he was the drummer on their King of Everything album. If you do the official videos for "Words of Wisdom", or "Just Another", or "Sit Stay Rollover" you'll see him in those videos as well. The guy is also a phenomenal drummer, he would have been the permanent drummer but he couldn't commit to Jinjers' insane touring schedule, so he chose to be just a "fill in" drummer until they could find a permanent replacement, which ended up being Vlad in 2016. Quick thing, he was a "fill in" drummer because Jinjers' previous drummer Eugene Mantulin had a horrific accident after falling off a balcony and shattering his spine. Yeah Jinjer has had it's share of drummers, not all by choice, just because of circumstances. The cool thing is Dmitry is still involved with Jinjer in the sound engineering side of them. Peace and stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

This drummers name is Dmitriy Kim. Their former drummer broke his spine and he jumped in as a substitude, but could not keep up with their insane amount of touring. He still does a lot of the bands mixing, including the entire Alive in Melbourne album (including the live music videos they dripple out to KZbin, but there's a unlisted full show which shows him in the credits at the end). I think this song was also still originally written with their second guitarist (Dmitriy Oksen) in mind, who left in 2015 for an acting career. At the time Tati thought the band was falling apart, which was also when she cut off her dreads. I believe this is the shortest hair in all their official videos, but there are some lower quality live shows on YT with even shorter hair, and you can kinda see that she's not quite vibing with her usual stage energy in those. Then in 2016 Vlad officially joined the band (and is now their longest lasting drummer), they did the re-recording of Pisces, and the rest is history. You can also find both of those former members in the background in the video for the Prophecy. The bassist is the same though, the three of them are pretty much part of the band since 2011. My favorite part of this live one is her kicking it off and throwing her hair around at 11:42 though. I think her body language and stage presence is pretty rad. Edit: Oh, and Who Is Gonna Be The One live does not have an official video, just an official studio recording, but the live one is sooooo much better.
@jen.g.
@jen.g. 3 жыл бұрын
Their old music had no rules either. This song is just a little different. I think “Sit Stay Rollover” is a must just for the experience. Because it’s before this...when she had dreads. 😊 Her outfit for the live is the same as from the official...she just cut it up and modified it. Because the woman is great at everything she does. And yes, the same bassist.

Sit Stay Roll Over would be another great double-feature with the live in Melbourne one - the official also has Dmitry Kim on drums and is probably the last video or one of the last ever shot while Tati had dreds since Dmitry Kim is on drums and Dmitry Oksen is no longer doing guitar. :D I love the music video for Cloud Factory - imo the official live doesn't capture the power of her growls, and the official video is really well put together.

Same bassist (and has always been) - Eugene, however the drummer (kid, lol) on the older video of I Speak Astronomy is Dmitry Kim, not Vlad the current drummer. One drummer of Jinjer (previous to both of them) Yevhen Mantulin had fallen asleep on a third story window sill, fell out, and broke his spine around 2014. I believe their original drummer was Oleksandr Koziychuk. Just a little Jinjer drummer history,

Fun reaction. I'm hoping we get an live from Melbourne soon (and even more, Home Back, but that's another rant), though I wish we'd gotten one from Wacken in 2019. This is a love song Tati wrote as a "call to the universe" to find someone she's mentally and spiritually compatible with, and her belting in the end had an extra edge of desperate loneliness before she started dating Alex Lopez. Not that I'm complaining, whatever makes our goddess' time on this earth better is a good thing in my book. ;) Jinjer's lineup has been same lead guitar since late 2009 = Roman. Same bass since 2011 = Eugene. Same singer since late 2009 = Tati. They have been through more drummers than spinal tap though. The official video here is Dmitry Kim whose primary profession is sound engineer, but who is also a great drummer but didn't want the life constantly on the road that was Jinjer, so he filled in after their prior drummer was severely injured in a fall until they could find a permanent (hopefully!) replacement in Vlad. Since, Dmitry has also mixed a couple of their videos (Ape at Mystic Festival and Judgement & Punishment in Melbourne) and is drumming for a series of classic metal covers by Sershen & Zaritskaya which are fire. Confusingly, they also had a blond rhythm guitarist named Dmitry Oksen in some of their older videos. Cheers!

Jinjer has been around more than a decade and they've had ten members (six have left) so you'll see other people from time to time. In fact, none of these four are founding members. In the official "Outlander" video there are two guitar players onstage (three if you include Eugene and his bass). And, HUGE shock, Tatiana isn't the original singer. She replaced Maksym Fatullaiev.

@@SeanStaxxMusic Yes, but it's an enjoyable journey. Their style changes quite a bit over the albums, they are definitely becoming more progressive (a la 'The Prophecy') and complex as they evolve and Tatiana's voice gets stronger. The drummer in this video is Dmitriy, their 4th drummer. The drummer you know, Vlad, is their 5th and current drummer. This is definitely one of their more melodic/atmospheric songs. Eugene is the only bassist that has been in the band. Some quick facts about this song: -This is Jinjer's cleanest song (vocally) that still contains growls, about 86% of the vocals are clean. This doesn't reflect the trend at this time, rather it's an anomaly, most of their songs fall in the 60-40% range and on this album there are some of their least clean songs like Dip a Sail, Under the Dome, Words of Wisdom, Sit Stay Roll Over and Just Another with 18, 24, 30, 32 and 34% clean vocals respectively. This album in general is one of those "wall of sound" type albums with a few exceptions. -The song may sound more mainstream, but structurally it's another complex one. For the bulk of the song there is an alternating time signature of 3/4-7/8-3/4. The intro is played in 5/8 and reappears later. There are also sections in 4/4, 6/8 and a 2/4 transition. During the interlude there is another alternating time signature of 4/4-4/4-3/4-4/4. -This is actually a love song, one of the few, if not the only written by Tatiana for Jinjer. -The outfit Tatiana wore at the live show is the same one that was in the music video, she just reconstructed it. As for their older stuff, I would argue it is even more aggressive than their newer stuff. Their newer stuff is much more complex and maybe more chaotic, but the older stuff is pure unbridled rage. The album before this one, Cloud Factory is punishing, especially songs like A Plus or a Minus, Cloud Factory or Желаю Значит Получу. All of those songs I would recommend reacting to at some point, btw. For Who is Gonna Be the One there are a lot of live videos, but I believe there is only one official live, that should be the one everyone wants. There is no music video for it, but it might be worth reacting to the studio version anyway as there's a lot of differences. The studio version is in a different key and has two guitarists. Tatiana also does a tunnel throat growl which she almost never does live. There are a couple videos where she does it live, but they are fan cams, so the audio isn't great.

5:55 - If you take Bad Water - the only Jinjer song with clean vocals only - out of the "equation", I Speak Astronomy is their song with the least amount of harsh vocals, that's why it feels "tamer". It's supposed to be a romantic song, you know. ; ) If you're into the visuals, they have a "behind the scenes" video of the making of of this videoclip. Kim is definitely an amazing drummer but his drumming on this record feels robotic, mechanical and almost soulless because of the grid alignement and sample replacement (why do you think they decided to re-record Pisces with Vlad?). It's a shame really but everyone in the Metal scene was doing it at the time and he went the same "easy" route. Fortunately for us music lovers, Vlad is the complete opposite: he's not afraid to let people hear his real drum sound, to the point that after only 2 records he managed to create a very identifiable sound.

Vlad is the 5th drummer (& hopefully final). I have seen 3 so far, and they have all been great. I think most, if not all would agree Vlad is the best yet. His meter, diversity, dynamic control, and taste are nearly impeccable! Eugene has been the bass the whole time, Roman on lead. They have had another lead/rhythm guitarist for a while too. Now E & R pick up the rhythm parts in between them. You will frequently see E finger tapping rhythm parts with his right hand on the higher pitch strings/frets while simultaneously playin his parts in the lower range. Damn impressive... That wasn't the end on the last video... Bad sound engineering...
