"I can't relax... but I'm relaxed while I'm not..." I don't know if I've ever heard such a raw and succinct description of how good metal just physically feels good. So often I'll hear people who don't listen to metal talk about how someone must be in a pretty bad place to me listening to heavy stuff like that but they truly don't get that once you can appreciate the heavy parts the flow between them feels amazing and the energy of the whole experience just feels freeing. Forever wishing more people could truly appreciate that.

One of my favorite songs and your reaction is perfection!
@texasnewt Жыл бұрын
Yep, and the comparison of Tatiana's vocal capabilities like that of a non-binary, quantum state potential ... wow, great analogy. Yes, she can belt out lower register metal death growl or hit the higher registers like the voice of an angel. Amazing talent!

Thank you for your reaction, my favorite Jinjer song!

I was waiting for this reaction. The video is awesomely done and the band range as well as Tatiyana's range is exemplary here. Great song, great reaction.

Damn... i thought it was going to be speed metal and screaming. Well i was fking WRONG! This band can change gears with the best of them ( metalica... master of puppets or One) my favorite is the heavy music with the angel voice... oh ... your review was good too...

That’s a long pause at the end, right? Haha. I think this is my favorite Jinjer song, combined with the video….off the scale! I’ve been looking for some words to describe their music but you hit it dead on: controlled chaos. Great reaction!
@texasnewt2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting your reaction ... I, too, share your admiration for the progressive metal Jinjer consistently conjures. This particular music video was produced earlier than Pisces, and you'll notice the drummer is not Vlad -- but, he is awesome just the same. In fact, this video really showcases, not only the drumming, but the bass and lead guitar as they take us into a very cool groove. They're all at the top of their game, no slouches in this band. Tatiana's vocals do not disappoint, nor does her several different alluring appearances. After the faux fini, when the track resumes to the outro or finale, Tatiana stretches forth her hand to a star-generating galaxy and stunningly belts out her plea as if channeling a goddess. A grand performance befitting I Speak Astronomy's cosmic theme. Bravo and kudos!!!

So much talent. Thanks for choosing this. It really challenges the listener. It’s hard work in a sense but it expands your ability to hear. Birds of Fire by John McGloughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra did that for me in the early 1970s. Try that one. An under appreciated master from that same time you might share is John Mayall Room to Move is a fun intro to his work.

Well, I kind of knew that you would love that song and that video. Why? Well, it`s another rollercoaster and you only have two choices: Be swept away by song, awkward rhythm, Tatiana and musicianship - or being completely overwhelmed, stranded, left behind and scared away. 🤣 You know you really sound silly being so lovestruck, and that`s OK because who is not? The thing is, you always get back to really deep insights that suddenly make real sense: Quantummechanics?! Well, yeah, makes sense and I think Tatiana as such an introverted person is also in between somehow - never decided, procrastinating, trying to put things together that don`t match but suddenly do in a weird sense... Great comments, great insights! 😁👍

Crazy how when I first heard this song as well as Pisces, I hated it. Years later and it has become my favorite album by them and they have become one of my favorite metal bands. Don't know what I was thinking back then, but sometimes you just gotta come back to things for it to be seen in a different light.

As you are already tracking Jinjer, may I introduce you to another two singers you might instantly fall in love with? 😄 One is Alyssa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy with their song "Handshake with Hell". 👍 And the other one would be Lena Scissorhands from Infected Rain. She is also featuring in Seas on the Moon`s "Bad Omens" (although "Opium" or "Another" would work better to get you in love - but I like "Bad Omens" better...👀) And of course Infected Rain`s "Earth Mantra" also works - if you also like insects.... 😆🤘

Fanboying over Tati is definitely allowed. Strangely I've never been one to drool over her looks (which are nice, no doubt) - for me it's that voice. Gives me chills, top to toe, every time. I have noticed some reactors are strongly drawn to Eugene. Great to have a band of four masterful musical talents AND two charismatic performers.

Yeah....🙂 At 7:32 you would think it's the end.... BUT... Give it six beats more.... And..voila!...The most emotionally charged part in Tatiana's singing on this song is coming up... For this part, i also suggest any of her live performances if this song...It has an added encore to that final verse...

Funny you mention how graceful she is because there’s a behind-the-scenes video for this where she talks about how awkward it was for her. Another great Jinjer reaction! Also…I know it’s been a while, but I REALLY think you should check out Lorna Shore’s new video “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames”. It’s _different_ for them. Very emotional. Even if you don’t pull up the lyrics (which you should), you’ll still understand what is going on.

Liking how you’ve come to enjoy metal. Some more extreme but insanely talented musicianship comes from the band Slaughter to Prevail or Maximum the Hormone. For Slaughter (Russian band) I recommend “Demolisher” and for Maximum (Japanese band) I recommend “Yoshu Fukushu”. If looking for another female fronted metal band I recommend Spiritbox
