This Jinjer song is quite deep. I love that Jinjer is unpredictable, and you never know what to expect.

Lyrically, "Kafka" is incredibly literate & a heavy lift for sure, drawing heavily upon the writings of Franz Kafka and existentialist philosophers like Heidegger among others. I take it as a meditation on the absurdity, alienation, and existential struggles of life, all through the perspective Tatiana derived from her experience as an artist. Gregor and Josef: In Kafka’s novella "The Metamorphosis", Gregor Samsa awakens to find himself transformed into a monstrous insect, leading to his alienation from his family and society. The song’s lines: "Whom to wake up in the morning? A Gregor or a Josef will it be?" directly evoke Gregor’s plight and the theme of transformation. The question reflects a fluid and fragmented sense of identity, underscoring the disconnection from self and others that is central to Kafka’s work. The main character in Kafka’s novel "The Trial" is Josef K., who faces a mysterious and unwarranted trial. This story resonates with the song’s depiction of judgment and existential helplessness: "One appeared in front of the jury / Face uncovered against the wind." The imagery of standing exposed before a jury recalls Josef K.’s vulnerability and the incomprehensibility of the systems judging him. Both the song and the novel explore the futility of seeking justice or understanding in a chaotic, indifferent world. "The void will bleed, das Nichts!" I love that part! "Das Nicht" translates as "The Nothing" or "The Void", and is a German term made famous among philosophers by Martin Heidegger's 1929 book, "What Is Metaphysics?" Heidegger explores how the encounter with nothingness - a confrontation with the absence of meaning - reveals our fundamental relationship with Being (Sein). For Heidegger, das Nichts is not just an absence but a force that allows us to question existence and grapple with the essence of Being itself. The line "The void will bleed das Nichts!" reflects this confrontation with the void as a creative force. The "bleeding" could symbolize the existential act of creating meaning (through ink and art) despite - or perhaps because of - the void. This is reminiscent of Heidegger's idea that we create meaning through our authentic engagement with existence in the face of das Nichts.

Nobody likes every Led Zeppelin tune. Beatles as well. I'm a die hard Jinjer fan. I hear this tune as a bridge song in a story unfolded in a complete album theme. Concept record if you will. Which we don't yet know. Should not have been released as a single IMO.
