Hello fellow Drum Nerds, hope you're well. Today we explore Jinjer - Pisces live in studio - Drummer Reacts.
As many have suggested, I have dove deeper into the world and rabbit hole that is Jinjer and Vlad himself. It must be said, this is and has been a real treat and honour to be shown more and more about this incredible band! The way Vlad is able to manipulate time, subdivide, be so accurate and dynamic is just a testimony to his absolute drumming genius.
Please keep other bands and other Jinjer songs coming my way, it's a true delight to learn more and more.

That is all Tatiana. You should react to "Who is Gonna be the One" (Live, Napalm Records) to see how Vlad controls the constantly switching tempo and why Tatiana is one of the best frontwomen in the business.

Crazy to think that only started drumming because one of his former bands needed a drummer, so he switched from guitar & taught himself. He's a classically trained pianist too. Super talented musician.

First off, Jinjer is a phenomenal band, all of the members are super tented, Tatiana (vocals), Eugene (bass), Roman (guitar) and of course Vlad (drums). Yes that is Tati's actual voice, there are no sound effects on it other than some post production on this video. Lastly since your reactions are drum related and you were impressed by Vlad, I have two reaction suggestions that I'm sure you'll enjoy, one is Mediator by Jinjer, (Drum playthrough by Vlad) and the other is Vortex by Jinjer (Drum playthrough by Vlad) both are live performances and have a drum cam focused on Vlad.

Enjoyed this reaction. It’s always good to see Vlad get some love. In addition to Vlad’s playthroughs, consider checking out Vlad in The Prophecy, Mediator, Pit of Conciousness live in Kiev, and Who is Gonna Be The One live. He’s an absolute monster. You won’t be disappointed. Lastly, good luck up there and let freedom ring! 🤘🍻

Nice! I've been waiting to see more Jinjer from you. You DEFINITELY need to check out his drum playthroughs of "Under the Dome" and "Mediator". Also check out "Pit of Consciousness" and "On the Top" both live in Kiev. He's got some killer 👻 notes going on in their official video for "Retrospection", that venue is definitely haunted now because of all the ghost notes he unleashed in there! MANY more songs from them you need to check out after these. Can't wait to see you react to them!

Ok instant sub because 1. You're a drummer, 2. You're Canadian, 3. You're doing Jinjer! I love your kind, friendly, chill Canadian vibe my brother from the Great White North. Totally agree with you on the nondivisive comments. We have so much more in common than that which divides us. Leave it to a Canuck to to be reasonable, logical, civil and friendly. I can't wait to see further Jinjer reactions! I can also see you've been a good Canadian drummer and done some Rush reactions. My favorite band and drummer. Saw them 36x live. Vlad brings that level of precision, power, passion and artistry to the drums. Bonus: his style seems so ergonomic with the uncrossed thing, the flat low drums for less necessary motion, and the way he seems to isolate the limb doing the hit without putting his whole body into it, I can see him doing this for decades to come, without the extreme wear and tear so common among rock drummers. Neil Peart had to finally retire because of the extreme repetitive motion stress and resulting cumulative injuries. I mean, how many times did Neil hit something full force during the course of one show? Half a million? A million? Try to count the hits in one song! And watch when Neil hits his snare--his head jerks to the side almost every time. He's putting his whole body into it. Vlad, less so I think. And that makes me optimistic about his future. He's a monster!

I'm a bit surprised that you didn't comment on the changing time signatures that Vlad sails through without a hint of difficulty - the song has parts in 7/4, 3/4, and an 8/4 section subdivided as 3-3-2 - and that's just the ones off the top of my head - I think there are a few others, as well! Nicely done reaction, though - keep it up!

Nope that's all her. She isn't using her vocal cords there she's using what are called "false vocal folds" which is a very difficult technique. She can go lower than that. A good Jinjer song list to try out would be Sit Stay roll Over (different drummer for the studio version same for the live in Melborn version) Perennial Live at Wacken open air Judgement and Punishment (one take vocal) Teacher Teacher (official video) Vortex Mediator There is also a drum playthough of Mediato0r which is quite good. That's not all the good songs but it's a good start for listening even if you don't react to all of them. I'm a drummer too and appreciate all these tunes.

I've long thought that someone with a simpler kit like this (snare, 3 toms, handful of cymbals) and all the things he can do with it is a true sign of talent, versus some 20+ piece kit. But then huge kits come with their own complexity. Your thoughts on simpler sets versus huge sets AND the talent it takes for either?

From their cover of Enter Sandman in 2014 when she was 13. The Warning has 2 eps and 2 albums out not a bad song from them. Wait 'til you check them out live. The whole band is super talented, and Vlad plays the drums in a very percussive manner. Similar (but different) to Danney Carey of Tool. I just saw them live with two other bands, and the other drummers were flailing wildly, but sounded so boring. Vlad is more laid back, but keeps such an awesome groove.

Their song "Disclosure" is a biting criticism of cancel culture. "Home Back" is a song about the war in their home country of Ukraine. "Sit, Stay, Rollover" is an angry song aimed at the Neo Nazis the W and Obama administrations used to overthrow the Ukrainian government twice. Her growls are all her. In live video of Who Is Gonna Be the One? you can hear some feedback from the PA system at times when she growls.

The problem is as a Healthcare professional who's worked in the front lines of this thing, people that refuse to listen to professionals about the vaccine are directly making or jobs harder and putting us at increased risk. I 100% support vaccine mandates as not only does the science support the efficacy and safety of the vaccines, but it's a public health issue not a private one. I'm tired of unvaccinated patients refusing to trust modern medicine until they're dying and then it becomes my problem.

Thank you for your opinion and insight. My issue with everything is as individuals we do have choice over our bodies and my big issue is with Trudeau himself, he has for too long made poor choice after poor choice (so bad you actually think he's trying to mess up on purpose) If we allow or encourage a government to do all the thinking and choice making for us - somewhere along the lines exploitation and corruption are likely to follow (and with malevolence) Be well.
@2FlyCaptain
@2FlyCaptain 2 жыл бұрын
@@DRUMNERD I totally get that, and I agree in some respects. However vaccine mandates as public health protect the public as a whole. A person does have the right to body autonomy, but when it conflicts with someone else's right to safety there Becomes an issue. This whole politicization of what I see as a scientific and medical issue has me on the edge of not wanting to be a nurse anymore. I literally get accused by patients families of killing their loved ones because they believe the pandemic to be fake. Patients use their last words to call out a hoax as we stick breathing tubes in them. It's hard to go to work every day knowing that if everyone just got vaccinated we'd be well beyond this pandemic already.

I don't know or really care what your position is. Your words remind me of the kind of thing I'd have said once upon a time though. So here's a word of caution. I'm not a marketing guy, but I work for a marketing company. And they don't always close the doors when they have meetings, and I can see how the ideas they talk about to manipulate behavior work in the everyday world and it makes me want to vomit. If nothing else, research the nephew of Sigman Freud who pioneered the use of psychology in marketing and do some research on the subject. Unfortunately, our ideals are extremely easy for those with wealth and power to manipulate. Worse, because ideals are tied to morals, and morals are always a constraint on our individual self interest, ostensibly for the "greater good", manipulating our ideals allows the rich and powerful to trick us into working against our own self interest, to advance their objectives. It isn't even politics to them. Spending millions on propaganda to enable themselves to build even more billions is just a business calculation. Building tribes that bind their identities to "the right to our opinion" instead of objective facts let's them twist reality any way they want to.

Freedom is, & has always been, limited in liberal democracies by the rules, boundaries, & limitations, set forth in the rule of law. Freedumb is what the #TruckerConvoy is advocating, an untenable level of freedom, that doesn't serve the interests of civil society, & what leads to the obnoxious behaviour & chaos witnessed in Ottawa. People who fall for this kind of short sighted populism are useful idiots for the real people behind the campaign, America's Super Rich, who are interfering in the domestic politics of the US and America's allies. If the Freedumb fighters ever got their way, they would quickly learn that all the limited freedoms they have now would quickly disappear altogether when a dictator takes advantage of the chaos they would unleash. Democracy isn't optional, the agreement is that people vote, & the majority rules. Speech is free, the constitution guarantees that. But it makes no guarantee that people must respect or even listen to your opinions. The intent of freedom of speech was to guarantee the the truth could always be heard, not for lies to drown it out. Public debate determines the results. Those who cling to their opinions, in the face of overwhelming opinion to the contrary are demonstrating a willful ignorance & functional stupidity that isn't helpful in establishing & maintaining a free (limited) & fair society. They are simply pursuing their own selfish goals, at the expense of others.
