Jinjer usually does their best work at live performances. Something about being live in front of an audience allows this band to take any song to the next level.

being a guitarist like me, you should check out some of Roman's playthroughs. It's technically impressive. Dude is a machine

Roman is an awesome technical guitarist & riff monster who doesn't get nearly enough attention. Here are some excellent guitar playthroughs together with excellent official videos or live videos for possible double-features: Captain Clock guitar playthrough + Official Live (the official live has muddy guitar sound, but is a great showcase of Tati's chops as a frontperson) I Speak Astronomy guitar playthrough + Official Music Video Pit Of Consciousness guitar playthrough + Official Live (a tsunami of riffs!) A Plus or a Minus guitar playthrough + Official Lyric Video (this is a deeper cut, but I really enjoy the guitar composition).

@@hemlock399 his right hand is so economical. Left hand too, but it's his right hand that really impresses me. He makes it look effortless while playing very difficult parts.

@hemlock399 seriously insane. I'm a very advanced guitar player but he's got me beat with that right hand for sure. No shame here!
@ericpeterson75125 ай бұрын
Yeah that right hand is insane. The speed and precision! And his chord selection is like Allan Holdsworth, big stretchy chords. Almost never a section of straight barre chords. He's like Alex Lifeson on crack!

you are absolutely right, Jinjer is one of a kind band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! warm greeings from germany and from a german musician & thanx for your reaction and interest on this band..........

2:42 - It's funny that you say that because this was the last song of a +/- 30 minute set that took place at around 11 in the morning and many of those in the audience probably didn't even go to bed after the last concert of the previous "day" just to be there that early to see Jinjer. No wonder they looked tired. 😄

It's fine to say jazz. :) Eugene has floated the idea of a jazz album someday. Though that was during a time when Tati was having a bit of a love-hate relationship with her growls. Some of my favorite instrumental composition is the two that have reggae influence- Who Is Gonna Be The One live and Judgement & Punishment one take.

I never go first to vocalists. Jinjer's string and drum work immediately drew me in King Crimson vibes.

Jinjer - the once in a generation sensation
@badm0t0rf1nger5 ай бұрын
Roman's chewy chords in drop-A (standard baritone tuning with the thick B string dropped a whole step) like this are great. It helps that Eugene is one of the most musical bassists active today - Eugene's work is a blueprint for how to make a single-guitarist heavy band sound *HUGE* !! All 4 of them are excellent at what they do tho really. I have bought everything they have written since Vlad (the classically trained pianist) joined on drums- the composition since then has been *top-tier* imho. And it is super impressive that Tatiana creates the melodic vocal lines she does, on top of what is often already very technically challenging music from the lads. It is not surprising to me that Jinjer are appreciated beyond just "the metal scene" for their composition, technicality, & live performance. :)

This is all great deep information about the band. Yes, i do feel a complex composition rather than just being metal.

@@badm0t0rf1nger sorry I have ask...what is thru-composed...I don't care if I look stupid on youtube or tiktok or real life...I ask questions...
@badm0t0rf1nger5 ай бұрын
@@matchu.j There are no stupid questions. The term thru-composed in music means no use of verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge/breakdown-chorus etc formula. Instead a few short(ish) musical motifs are manipulated with different dynamics (loud/soft), different voicings, different counter-melodies etc. to compose a piece. It's much more common to see thru-composed pieces in classical music than more recent pop / rock music which tends to lean heavily on the formula I mentioned. For an example of a modern thru-composed piece, check out the Jinjer single "Vortex" I recommended here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5rEgIZ9j7mqqrs You'll notice there is no catchy chorus, no repeating verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure being used. I enjoy this as it keeps you interested from start to finish because you have no way of knowing what they are going to do next. ;)

80%-90% of all bands/groups do not sound as good as they do in studio... A smaller percentage sound better live then they do in studio. Jinjer is one of those bands.
