WHAT I SPEND ON FOOD IN A WEEK WHILE LIVING IN GHANA | HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU NEED TO LIVE IN GHANA?
A lot pf people are curious about the cost of living in Ghana. Ghana can be expensive or cheap depending on your life style. Money goes so fast here. I went out to do my weekly food shop and decided to bring you along so you get a rough idea on the cost of food in Ghana.

I have been trying to upload this video since 2am yesterday 😩I hope you find it useful. The price of everything in Ghana has gone so high within the last few months due to an increase in petrol prices in Ghana. Do you think what i spent on food is low in comparison to where you live? It's expensive if I compare it to my sister place but it's cheap if I compare them to where I was in Accra. But I will prefer the community.1 market. Can you please do a video of where they sell clothes at the market? I miss the place so much I used to sell with my mom there. But am in traveling now so I get happy when ever I see you pass there. Have a nice day 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Just came back from a trip to my country Nigeria and people over there are suffering .The lockdowns affected the economy but the government did not give any stimulus checks or unemployment or food aid nothing .The average person earns about $50/month when they can find work so people are eating once every two days! Meat is out of reach completely for most, even the scrap meat is expensive ! I am building in my village .The workers would work all day without eating, so we started cooking ogbonno soup with garri for them (common Nigerian meal) Also we bought sacks of garri , beans and rice and palm oil to share out in the village. How are things in Ghana?

8:29 “are the chillies hot?” “Yes”. Proceeds to buy a large container full. Which is filled by the lady then over filled, then more balanced on top, then struggles to put in the bag, then even more put into the bag!! Question: are you really going to eat so many very hot chillies in a week? Also : remind me what is the point of the measuring container again? Thanks for taking us along on your trip, enjoyed it. I also love the fact you get a tiny egg Sherpa for your tray of eggs.

Wow…for an average Ghanaian …food is really getting expensive and it isn’t the harmattan yet…you’ll have to spend this or more for a big family and wouldn’t last in a week for sure….meanwhile it’lI take a month to make close to or a little more than that amount ….think I’ll opt for growing my own veggies in the future then😽😽

I live in Rome and what you are spending in Ghana for a week is not that far from what we spend for a family of 6 in Rome. I think that it's just awful that in a developing country with power outages and infrastructure issues, roads etc...that the cost of living would be so poorly priced. My first apartment in Rome near the Vatican with 2 sunny big bedrooms, a huge kitchen overlooking a piazza with a balcony sitting area with flowers, a lovely bathtub and separate shower and rooftop area for dinning was €650!! The fact that they were asking you for $1000 for an apartment in Ghana, again with all of the issues of infrastructure I mentioned, is crazy. The citizens deserve better. I love West Africa, having travelled there many times Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Benin and Nigeria. The people are incredible and the culture is very much like my Afro Cuban Puerto Rican Caribbean culture. It saddens me to see so many African migrants who should be at home instead of drowning in the Mediterranean or sleeping in train stations in Rome, can't go home because they are being GAUGED by their governments. These greedy leaders don't do anything to make the life of their average citizens EASIER like the EU does for its citizens. This is the problem with Africa, the GREED of those at the top. It's so short sided, showing no love and respect for their own beautiful people. They thwart the very reachable possibility of an incredible continent. So many of us in the Diaspora want to come HOME. I'm an American from the Bronx who fled a sick wt supemacists country that literally kills and wounds our people by every metric. I came to Italy and married an Italian an had 4 babies. But my dream was to live in Africa. My life here has been good but nothing is like seeing your face everywhere. So many of us are tired of the West but when we see this is makes us even more tired. No disrespect to Ghana but the leaders MUST do BETTER by the people.

I am pleased that the ladies don't have their produce on the floor as I've seen in a lot of other videos of Diasporans on the continent.

The lady that you purchased the spring onions and things from looks like she could be your family member. Thanks for the efforts in reducing your practice usage. ❤️💚💛

It all depends on the kind of lifestyle you want to have here in 🇬🇭. Rent can range from 200ghs to 10,000 ghs and where you want to stay. Best advice is to visit first, prepare well & later decide for the move. Don't rush it.
