My wife did this before we were married. It was small numbers, but I found out she had $3k in savings and a $2k cash advance on a card from like 5 years before. I basically had to hold her hand and talk to the teller to get that handled. She told me she was told back in the day to have savings. It took a *lot* of convincing to get her to understand that she was paying credit card interest for the benefit of avoiding needing to use a card if anything comes up.

Oh I learned the never loan money to anyone that’s not your spouse hard. I ended up financing a car that I sat in once. And I had to pay it because it was in my name and a repo would tank what little I had. Now I’m way behind on everything because I didn’t take care of myself and myself only. Now I’m trying to play catch up on everything. Retirement and savings. I already know I won’t ever have enough money to even put down a down payment on a house let alone all the other hidden costs after buying like repairs and maintenance and taxes that come with it.

I used to work as an investment advisor. The advice presented in the video is excellent and holds true for the average American. While it's a fact that money can't directly buy genuine happiness, it does provide the means to access experiences that can lead to happiness. However, for individuals with a substantial portfolio, say around $5 million, if you observe closely, you'll find that most people in their 70s are still quite active (I live in LA), but by the time they reach 80, their activity levels tend to decline. So, it's essential to enjoy life at some point before it's too late. That enjoyable vacation might well be the experience that brings comfort in your later years. It's important to distinguish between spending money wisely and squandering it. Be prudent in your value-conscious spending.

I completely agree; I am 60 years old, recently retired, and have approximately over 2million dollars in external retirement funds. Be careful! Not filing taxes is a federal crime in the US, whether you owe or have a refund. Its just that they take forever to figure it out, and most people get it corrected before any action can be taken. Even if you owe a ton that you cannot pay, always file. The funny thing is that not paying your taxes is not a crime as long as you have filed in good faith and on time. They can garish wages, freeze bank accounts, and try to take your stuff, but can't prosecute you criminally.

I agree, I've been in constant touch with an Investment advisor for approximately 17 months. These days, it's really easy to buy into trending stocks, but the task is determining when to sell or hold. That's where my advisor comes in, to help me with entry and exit points , I've accrued over $337k from an initially stagnant reserve of $148K all within 18 months...

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

You should have a serious financial conversation before you commit to a serious relationship. How much you got, how much debt, financial goals, do they want kids, religion? You are wasting your time if any of these red lines are crossed.

a month of emergency fund is stupid. save 3 months MINIMUM and THEN tackle the debt. The debts people have is so crazy that they're going to take forever to pay them off. And during that whole time they have a week ass one month emergency fund. That's dangerous.

Alemio’s tokenomics are what impressed me the most. The balance between development and community incentives is spot on.

I think we all know someone who’s made bad financial decisions… I’m guilty of a few myself! 🤦♂ What’s the worst financial mistake you’ve made?

Most costly…selling off shares of Amazon in 2001 as it started to decline in order to get my principal back. Has turned into a $200k opportunity loss. I still believed the company would do well but listened to the chatter instead of staying the course.

That's not the best shirt to wear for a video, it causes a strong and distracting moiree effect
