I hate the motion sensor lights under the bedside table! We went on the Caribbean Princess in January and our cabin had those. It was very annoying. Every night we took pillows and put one on the floor in front of each table. That solved it. There was also a motion sensor ceiling light directly in front of the bathroom door, which meant anytime one of us got up for the bathroom during the night, that light went on. My sister had the bright idea to take a piece of sticky paper from my lint roller and put it over the sendor every night. We'd take it off in the morning and stick it on the inside of the closet door. Thank god for older sisters and their clever ideas! :)

Hey Guys! I love your video's! I was recently on the Caribbean Princess in a balcony cabin. They had those annoying motion sensor lights also. A quick and easy fix for me was to place the decorative pillow from the bed, on the floor, in front of the bedside tables. Worked like a charm! I'm booked on the Sun Princess for January '25 and I'm very much looking forward to enjoying those amazing cocktails that you featured! Cheers!

A big negative for me is the crew serve buffet. I like to get my own food. I have found on HAL where all buffets are crew serve, the lines are longer and by the time you get the food you want, it is cold. If you forget something like a Pat of butter, it is a major production to be able to get it.

Hey Jordan and Jared. We were on the same Sun Princess cruise with you guys out of Barcelona. We saw you in the Crown Grill and around the ship. We also ran into Don when we were at the Dome and spoke with hime for a few. Agreed that Sun Princess is awesome. We missed the production shows but we think that Princess did a good job entertaining the guest with the singers, magicians, and comedians in the Arena. We did like the automatic nighlights on the nighstands. They are sensitive but make it a lot easier to get to the bathroom and back without injuries. We agree, the service was probably the best we have had on any cruise. The Sun Princess crew were amazing!

Just learned that as of October no one can buy their way in to The Sanctuary. You must pay for Sanctuary Club Class…all inclusive but double the price for the cabins. An absolute turn off for us in spite of being devoted Princess Cruisers.

I was on this exact cruise, the entertainment was excellent, the eatery was ok but was expecting something better than Panda Express Asian food. Be sure to book your dining times weeks in advance or else you will be stuck there. The service was top notch! Get the upgraded drink package.

I like the motion sensor light switch by the bed, but maybe they could fit a switch so you can choose whether or not it’s on. Celebrity have a night light in the bathroom so you don’t blind yourself at night which is great. This was sadly lacking on our Princess bathroom. The best thing is that Princess have discovered (20 years after everyone else!) that you can have glass shower doors instead of shower curtains!

I HAVE booked the Sun Princess as my first cruise; I'll be sailing in 2025 so hopefully, everything will be up and running by that time. As a writer, I'm interested in all types of art and was looking forward to attending an art auction (so I hope they decide to put that on the ship)! I'm a bit concerned about the venue for theatre and other performances but I'm hoping to arrive to the shows early and use my Princess Premier package to get a good seat because (again), I'm an artist and enjoy all types of artistic endeavors. I'm extremely excited about their food venues, especially The Butcher Block, The Catch, and a few other specialty and casual dining experiences. Also, I'm hoping to do Spellbound. However, with the possibility of 4,000+ cruisers sailing (and only allowing 90 people in per day , and not even being a daily occurrence), it would almost seem like winning the lottery to get a ticket for this experience. Plus, for those who can't pay the full cruise upfront (like me), it reduces our chance to experience Spellbound (since I believe you have to have your entire cruise paid off before you can even book any specialty dining) making booking Spellbound akin to a "class" issue (even though each person would have paid for a cruise, sometimes even more money for their cruise) than a person who paid in full. The spa seems a bit expensive but I might go all out (since it's my first cruise). I will definitely be hitting up that beautiful casino!!! QUESTIONS: (1) Is there a library on the ship that can be used as a quiet area to complete work and/or do some reading in (instead of being in your cabin)? (2) Did the Sun Princess have any activities designed strictly for solo cruisers? Thx for the video. I'm a newer subscriber and I've really enjoyed your honest and unique perspectives!!! There's no library or game room on Sun Princess, like the others. Also, there are solo gatherings each day but one thing you can also do is just ask for a sharing table at the main dining room and sit with others who are into being social for dinner, It's always a nice time. You find yourself spending a long time at dinner but very enjoyable, in fact possibly one of the most enjoyable parts of cruising!

The light under the night stand drives me nuts as well. I usually get an extra pillow and use it to cover the motion sensor. That usually does the trick.

You guys are so great1 I love your detailed reviews. It does look very bland, probably my issue as i was just looking at icon and Utopia lol. Without seeing the area on deck 19 its hard to judge what the kids would do. I did see that PC announced in July 2024 that it would not be outfitting the ship with the Ropes Course and Coastal Climb or Sea Breeze rolliglider. So it would be had to book without knowing. I would like to ask what the entertainment was like in terms of languages. MSC was everything announced in 5 languages around Europe. What were the nationalities on the ship like for you guys? Glad you had a blast, sorry about the shows!

Were doing our first Princess Cruise in may 2026, just a 2 night one on the crown Princess in an interior cabin, but i have purchased us both the Princess premier package, which I'm very excited about :) but the crown is so so old in the decor compared to the sun Princess. The sun is a beautiful modern cruise ship, photos look a bit like the celebrity edges photos. I'd be very happy to cruise on either ship, they both look stunning :) they're my types of ship hehe

I am so excited for my fall cruise on the Sun Princess. I am kinda bummed about the 15 drink per day policy. I get why that is a thing on Carnival, but Princess never has or never will be know as a rowdy, booze cruise. The limit makes no sense on a premium line. If it is a cost thing, I would have no problem paying for drinks over 15 (not saying I will actually drink 15), but I hear it is a hard cutoff, regardless of tolerance.

We did all the bookings ourselves.. and upon reading about what documents to bring, we are not sure about the vaccines we need and is it mandatory. We are fully vaccinated for Covid.. but the others like Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A and B, etc… are those mandatory in order to board the ship? Please tell us. Thanks in advance ❤

Yes! This ship is extremely friendly to the access community! From lifts for most pools and hot tubs as well as the best elevators, we really believe this to be one of the better ships for accessibility. 🙌🏽👏🏽

David, when I booked my cabin, I could not locate ANY midship. On every cruise I have done, I have been able to find a great cabin aroundabout the middle. Not this ship! For some reason they moved all of the disabled cabins to the ends of the ship. I'm so far toward the bow, it's unbelievable. I use a scooter to get around the ship so it won't be too difficult for me, but those pushing a wheelchair or using a walker will be exhausted trying to get around this huge ship.

I have been a loyal customer of Celebrity Edge class but I'm looking for a similar or better experience, where do you think I could get this similar experience? NCL Prima/Viva or Sun Princess? Keep in mind that I'm big fan of Theater/Night Shows (like the ones on Celebrity) for me this is a must have!

Just came back from Celebrity Ascent , the decor and special touches doesn’t compare , the Ascent is superior . Noticed right away too plain of a decor . The specialty restaurants were gorgeous . Also the main dining rooms . And no smoking in the casino . We stayed in the retreat which is the only way to go . Don’t like that others can buy a pass to get into the Sanctuary on Sun princess . This seems too casual for us . If Star princess mirrors this exactly - I think we will pass on Princess . More children will be onboard here too .

Just back from a 10 day sail. Biggest disappointment is needing to stand in line for an hour to see a show. I won't do that on vacation, so we rarely got into the arena productions, nor did we get to see the Circuque show which only accommodates 200. The arena is not large enough for so many guests on board and no place to set a drink either. We also tried to see comedians in the Princess Live area, but that also filled up an hour prior to the show.

I've yet to understand why anyone would order room service onboard a cruise ship unless they have taken ill. But seeing what they delivered you, apparently Princess views room service as an after thought. What chef would willingly place either of those sandwiches onto a plate? Barely toasted white bread with non-melted American cheese, that's not even something one would serve themself in their own home kitchen.

Room service is great for a romantic meal on your balcony. I wouldn't choose the sandwich, but we love hanging on our balcony. Why spend all that money on a deluxe balcony if you don't spend some time there? I even pack a white tablecloth to make it special.

Not on our sailing, the sailing before did have some credits given but the Arena wasn’t even available on that sailing whereas on our sailing we had headliners in the Arena throughout our cruise and day performers in the Dome. Just no production shows. 😌

Love the buffet being served by crew.. last cruise , easily less than 10% of people were washing their hands as they entered the buffet 🤮

We're on the Princess Discovery right now and we placed a small box in front of the bed side floor sensor to prevent it from coming on at night. It was very annoying the first night. Obviously it only comes on when it's dim/dark but there's no way to turn it off otherwise.

Ive avoided the buffet at all costs when on ships. This is such a wonderful change. I always try and eat in the MDR for all 3 meals but on early excursion days when we have to eat before they start serving in the MDR the buffet was the only choice.

You guys are just so smiley and enthusiastic, it makes me automatically smile, too. I'll be on the Sun for a B2B starting Nov. 9. The first week is being dedicated to Magic. I didn't know that when I first booked it. Not really a magic fan but it looks like I'll be able to escape it if it gets too be too much. SO excited to go! One drawback that I don't like is that I could not find a disabled cabin midship like ALL the other Princess ships. Why they moved all of the handi cabins to the far ends of the ship I'll never understand. Not good Princess!!! I'll be all the way up front doing my best Titanic "flying" impression off of my balcony! lol!

im going on board the sun princess in july, im as excited as i was for my first cruise 10 years ago. ive only ever cruised with princess because you know youll get amazing service and luxury

Great review and love your honesty! For me, the decor looks super bland and disappointing especially compared to NCL Prima and Viva and Celebrity Edge class ships which are bold, super innovative, colourful and exciting. This decor frankly looked somewhat of a mess, the piazza already looks dated and cramped, the speciality restaurants aren't nearly as exciting looking as NCL's even your balcony cabin looked super bland and dated compared to say those on NCL Viva and Prima, with elements like a bed skirt?! Certainly didn't draw me in and I'll take a pass on this ship for now. Thank you Gents!

One clarification - from one Travel Professional to another - Only category C1 & C2 Reserve Collection Cabana Mini Suites located on Deck 9 get access to the Cabana Deck(s)

We were told different when we were on the Sun, by officers onboard. Since then Princess has contacted us giving us the same info you are sharing above! Thank you for helping spread the corrected information!

You are correct, only Reserve Collection Cabana Mini’s on deck 9 have access to the cabana deck.

I prefer sailing HAL because the buffet there is crew served. This looks like an amazing ship, did the crowd ever seem overwhelming, and what are the solo cruiser options?

That motion sensor light in the side table may be a complete deal breaker for me if there is no way to bypass it. I'm very sensitive to light when sleeping and the motion sensor ceiling lights on Enchanted Princess were a bad enough experience even though it was around the corner behind the closet.

I unplugged the sensor lights in our cabin on Crown. Then plugged back in before we disembarked

Hot tubs on a cruise ship = human soup. I've seen how unhygienic people are in the buffet. I can only imagine what their personal hygiene is. No thanks.
