While Sukuna may be able to live on as a spectator inside Yuji, if he has no agency then I don't really think then the act of merely existing will be enough to change his worldview, "teach him about love". I do think Sukuna is living on in Yuji. Why else would there by a cut away instead of him turning to dust? Also there's something interesting in his 'final' words to Yuji 'I congratulate you on taking the farce this far' or something like that. The farce being Yuji showing Sukuna compassion/understanding. I'm really not sure why Gege keeps hyping Sukuna needing understanding or compassion because narratively he's done nothing to deserve it (the opposite in fact) and also clearly doesn't want it. He seems like the textbook case of a sociopath - he feels no connection with anyone or anything and no need for that. But also I think one of the key inspirations of the series is the creepypasta story of the conjoined twins so maybe this is Gege's spin on redemption of that urban legend. I wish he had laid the foundations for Sukuna wanted/needed Yuji's compassion or Yuji being a balance to him in some way. If it was Geto and Gojo then that would make a lot more sense as he's laid the foundation for that.
