I had idiopathic frozen shoulder (female, non-dominant arm 5 years ago), and I can honestly say it was the most excruciatingly painful thing I've ever had. It's constant stabbing pains that rarely subsided from my shoulder to elbow and radiating to my wrist. I would just sit and cry. NSAIDs did nothing to help with the pain. Nothing at all. I went to therapy, but after thawing, I never regained full motion. It is now starting to recur, but I am doing all the exercises I learned from my first battle and hasn't gotten anywhere near as bad!

Hydrodilatation - literally saved my life and mental state. All therapies were making my condition worse and the pain was excruciating. I am grateful I finally found a really good consultant. I was physically super fit and rapid decline of my ROM was concerning. While having the procedure I felt the release immediately in the other surrounding tissues, my neck, biceps, trapezius etc as the capsule was essentially torn apart. I walked out of that procedure a completely different person from two years of pain everyday, the thought of giving up my job & just not being able to participate in favourite actives ...... to then literally running down the hospital corridor singing and dancing .... it is SO important to find the right Doctor.

Thank you so much for this information. I am looking for relief from a less painful form but daily I almost collapse in pain.

I had secondary adhesive capsulitis. I was involved in a motorcycle accident in 2009, that resulted in 10 broken ribs, broken collar bone and a shattered scapula in my left shoulder. The left shoulder was immobilized for months due to pain management. No surgery was performed to put the broken bones back together, they were just left to heal. CAT scans of my shoulder still show all the healed fractures but I'm living with it OK. My scapula looks particularly bad as it was broken into 7 pieces, and one can see some of the damage to my scapula visually by just looking at my back. After over a year of much physical therapy and pain management, arthroscopic surgery was required on my left shoulder. I now have about 90% of full motion in my left should with little to no pain.

I also suffered from frozen shoulder due to accident 2 years ago. After therapy, my shoulder still in pain and never went back to normal range of motion. Can I ask, what type of surgery (what was done) you had on your shoulder that helped with this condition ?

I had calcific tendinitis for a year and a half. Excruciating pain, especially when you're trying to sleep. Hanging on a pull up bar fixed it.

could serrapeptase not help to break down fibrin around the addesion ?

I tried Serrapeptase and it helped with alot of things but taking it apart from food was very important. I think Serrapeptase can work indirectly by breaking down inflammation in the lungs and as a result of breathing better it helps move the shoulder around. But I’m not a doctor, I took it, am taking it on and off for 3 months planning to go six months and there was significant more movement in my body

I've had two frozen shoulders. Once on each side, so many years apart I couldn't remember which side it was on first, when I had the second. The first incident occurred due to injury. I didn't seek treatment because I had recovered from a similar injury without aid previously. But this time it got progressively worse over many months, limiting motion to about 35%-40% range, painful only when trying to extend motion beyond. This shoulder was treated with Physical Therapy twice a week for 8 weeks. This was expensive and in the end yielded only slight improvement. Next I received a cortisone injection, which returned of 80% of motion within minutes and probably 90% within a day, eventually 100% weeks later. Don't know what caused the incident, in the second shoulder, years later, but I skipped the PT and went straight for the shot. The immediate relief again was about 80% but this time with some pain and the overall recovery was slower, taking many months to get 100% pain free range. So maybe the prior PT had been helpful in the first incident. From my experience I recommend the cortisone injection. They will hold you in a vice like grip administering the shot because the needle is long and goes deep into the shoulder joint. For most people the shot is very painful, but the relief from the frozen shoulder is well worth it.
