My X3 Hax takes forever to have a GPS lock, i ON/OFF, did a compass calibrate a couple of times, nope, 0 satellite. But i found a better way to get em. Fly indoor altitude hold mode higher to get signals, then you will see the GPS satellite starting to appear. But by doing that, your RTH point will have changed. Its OK for me, i can fly it back after that. For calibration, pls read the manual, its actually easy and will make the flight better when you do it right. Horizontally, the camera has to face up. I thinkthe X3 is good flyer, can hold stable on higher winds when most of the non GPS Bugs are having a very hard time. Great for beginners. Since many people will maybe buy this drone as their first, i recommend everyone to practice controlling a drone play with some Phone Apps (like quadcopter fx) just to get basic of the control sticks. I seen too many beginners even crash at the start and really dunno what the controls is about. Anyway, another great review 101.

Another good video . The great thing about the drone hobby is you can find one in almost any budget. Not everyone can afford a DJI drone . I have 3 DJI drone's , I also have probably 20 toy grade quad's . Whenever you get drinking with your bud's and they say , can i fly one of your quad's ? You throw them the controller to the syma x8 , and say have at it. Love the shirt!!!

Dual GPS means that the drone and the controller have GPS units in them. THis allows "follow me" functionality and other related control abilities like the geo - fence mode. Hubsan 502S has similar set up and abilities.

I'm using a LeEco LeTV X520 phone with 802.11ac WiFi. And here are the issues covered in the above video: Cons - Requires 802.11ac 5G WiFi to use app. Not everyone has a phone with this capability. Verify first that your phone is 802.11ac WiFi capable before purchasing. - As of 12/15/2017, the Google Play version of the JJRC app has not yet been updated for this drone. Instead download the updated Android version of this app from its secondary China app site here www.pgyer.com/eWhl. The app is based on the JJRC toy WiFi FPV app, and only presents FPV video and recording status (no telemetry info is dispolayed via the app). - The GPS can take minutes to lock on. The GPS position hold can wander greatly. - Toilet bowl effect (TBE) wobble increased as the flight progresses. Compass calibration's to correct can also take a long time to complete. - Could not switch it back to GPS mode in flight after flying in altitude hold mode. Could be disastrous for beginner pilots.

i wonder if instead of rotating the quad by hand, you could just hold the quad level and rotate your body watching the lights till they change. Then hold it nose down or nose up, whichever it calls for, rotate your body watching for lights to respond. Then set it down and take off.

The alternate Chinese website that you speak of is NOT included in the instruction manual, but I was able to find it after some extensive research. It's still very confusing as to which mobile devices will work with 5G wifi, as I'm using a HTC M8 One, that's over six years old and it works fine! In my first review, I flew it without FPV, but thanks to your help, I now have the correct app. My follow-up review will post today! Thanks for sharing your results & tests of this quadcopter. The app link was included as a QR code. There were three rectangular QR code boxes in the instructions that would link directly with iTunes, the Chinese website, and Google Play to download the app. A good QR code scanner that I use is Lightning QRcode scanner, available on Play here goo.gl/Ph5qp7 As for your phone, it was well ahead of its time when released as it was one of the first to incorporate 802.11ac (5G) WiFi goo.gl/HkamZz And yes mine recorded to the microSD card. Most of the lower cost China quadcopters can't use 32GB or larger cards. Also it's important to remember to stop the video recording before shutting down the quadcopter.

You are confusing "5G'' with 5.8ghz Frequency. "5G" has NOTHING to do with FREQUENCY. 5G has to do with DATA RATE! This is in fact listed as a 'wi-fi' (2.4ghz) FPV flyer, using the 802.11AC (5G) protocol. VERY FEW Cell Phones are currently 5G capable. I think HTC makes a 5G model, as does Xiaomi, LG and ZTE. I don't think anything from Samsung is fully 5G capable. The reason there are so few 5G devices out there is because the service providers (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) will NOT have 5G implemented into their cell towers until 2019-2020! Thus, there is little advantage to have a 5G phone NOW, because no cell towers support them. Read more about 5G phones here: goo.gl/DiCuH5 . I understand from SOUL FORCE QUADs that there is a different App you can download from a Chinese site which allows you to use this with non-5G phones. Glad you were at least able to get it going. It drove DJ crazy, and, I suspect that many buying this without full understanding of what they are buying will also be driven crazy trying to get it to work with the current Google Play store App. Thanks for the review. Cheers. EDIT: Just watched the rest of the video. This appears to be another quad which has been released before it is fully ready for release. I think they just wanted to get in on the Christmas season. Eventually, with FW updates (if they can be done?) they might be able to make this thing fly decent. also claiming that your device has to have 802.11aac is incorrect. most devices have supported that for many years now. the issue is there are restricted channels in some countries and this copter transmits on one of those channels so the majority of devices wont pick up the hotspot..

I saw a video from a Malaysian user and I believe he said it was from Xiaomi but, pronounced "Show Me". As for the 5G issue, I believe it is in regards to the Wifi channels 802.11 A/B/G and N. Even industry standards have some confusion about this subject with 802.1/N, being backwards compatible to the earlier 802.11A standard. If I'm not mistaken, 802.11 B/G and N, are in the 5.8 gigahertz range. And, there is the confusion with the 5G or 5th Generation LTE networks, which will take at least til 2025 to fully implement. With all the talk and excitement of the 5G networks, most notably pushed by the industry giant, Qualcomm, I was ready to dump my current Android smartphone for an over priced 5G phone... Cheers..

My X3 had a flyaway.. Had 11 satellites lock when I took off, wasn't stable at all and continously moving forward. Within 10 second of me trying to decide whether to land or wait for it for get stable, it just stopped responding to transmittor, the FPV video shut off on its own and the drone just kept going going and gone. Still not sure what exactly went wrong.

Not sure either? Did you do the compass calibration before flight (as shown at 7:25 into the above video). Many a flyaway has been caused by a compass out of calibration. Finally, this has a 300 meter geofence set to on by default (hopefully to prevent it from flying any further than 300 meters from the takeoff point). Recommend focusing your search 300 meters down the last direction that you saw it. Use Google Maps to measure and determine your search location.

Both, I have made my peace with my unpleasant memorys of most things jjrc, but It's my personal findings of all the way's bugs 3 is not at all a reliable easy to repair durable brushless king of the heap. Sir I would love nothing more than to be able to order a stock replacement bugs 3 board, (evan a the lesser wanted version 2 bugs 3 board) and then take 4 or my many many esc's and and 4 of my many many motors and put together some more diy MJX flyers,, but the sad truth is , all of bugs 3 replacement parts from the motors, esc's boards'have only about a 2 in 10 chance of working once you put them together or try to make a repair. It is very disapointing for to have tried over and over with there replacement parts to get positve results and with no ssucess,, MJX pulled a major swich with there manufactuuer or they have a separate contract with and outfit that makes replacement parts and not completed aircraft, and there quality control is non existant or very very unproffesional. and substandard.. I have to act like its tripple bypass surgery just to take out a stock running bugs 3 and put it in an after market 250 frame,, it's like th movement alone can be enought to causse some kind of breach in the system resulting in one or more of the four motors failing to operate properly.. I have done the musical motor song and dance time and time again only to come out with less money, and no closer to flying most injured bugs 3.. It really sad. that a strong bird with so much promiss turned into such a hyped up paper tiger of a bird.. I think giving its current statuss with faulty replecment parts should WARENT THE COST OF THIS BIRD TO BE $75 WITH THE OPTION OF BUYIING BIRDS WITHOUT THE REMOTE.. bUT YOU KNOW THAT IS AN OBSURD NOTION WHEN IT COMES TO BIIRDS LIKE MJX AND OTHERS.. i ACTUALY CONVINCED JYU TO SELL ME BNF VERSIONS OF THERE GPS HORNET. BUT TO NO AVAIL BECAUSE HORNETS ARE EXTREMLY DIFFICULT TO BIND TO AND DIFFERENT BIRD.. i LOVE MJX, BUT i HATE MJX.. Yes, they will work, and would last up to 5 times longer than normal AA (even alkaline) batteries. But the transmission range of the transmitter might also be slightly reduced due to the lower voltage.

OK thanks. One more query, when I take off in altitude mode and land by pulling the left lever to the bottom (turns the motors off). If I want to take off again, the motors don't start. I have to turn off the transmitter and turn it on again in order to unlock the motors and turn off. Is this motor or am. I doing something wrong?

I just see this video to compare it with my bugs 2w. But bugs 2w wins hands down. Quick and precise gps lock. Better silent motor. And better video. But x3 was cheaper. Maybe I'll buy this and remove the fpv and add some firefly q6 cam with walkera g2d gimbal, as the cam in this is removable.

The Main reason for you to get the X3 Hax than the Bugs 2W is the cost. When doing online Purchase, do make many comparison of the items, some can be very expensive for the same thing. I just bought additional Batteries and Blades for the X3 Hax at less than half the price of the cheapest ones in another site. The Bugs 2W and the 501S should be better if you are willing to spend on it. But as with all products, there are some weaknesses to it. Some might say there are quality problems with such and such products, while other will say drone features cant be used at certain conditions, there is even luck involved. Well, end of the day, just enjoy what you have and after that, decide to shelf it, or upgrade into something better.

I think it's a real shame that folks like JJPRO or Hubsan have platforms that are DJI spark sized, GPS, FPV etc. all you need is a gimbal. Additionally 3DR open sourced their smartshot software. The tools are there for companies to make their own Spark like drone, not sure why they're not.

Just got mine a week ago, it refuses to calibrate at all, remote pairs just fine etc, but the lights do three flashes at the front and three at the back all the time no matter what i do (i have not put it into headless mode), has anybody else had this problem? I live in New Zealand and it took weeks to arrive from gear best and it will weeks and weeks to send back and wait for them to replace it. also it picks up between 11 to 14 satelites in gps mode.

I'm still waiting for my ultimate cheap GPS quad to come out but they are starting to come close with this one and bugs 2. But still waiting for a great alrounder for £120 That does 1080p 60fps or 2k 60fps with adjustable stabilized camera angle and GPS. If anyone has any ideas let me know please.😁
