Wade in Miami was an appropriate facsimile of Kobe though. In everything but overall career-level success, the two struck me as some of the closest equals. The games between the three way triarchy of Wade, Kobe, and LeBron, where each could be the best in the league, and with them guarding each other, were just some of the most fun games I've ever seen.

They had D Wade, there wasn't much of a difference. Prime DWade is arguably on the same level of Kobe. People were too focused on the fact that Kobe's teammates (2004-2007) and LeBrons (2003-2010) weren't that good, that they missed that Wade's from 2007-2010 were just as bad on many occasions. Not many can claim to have led a team to a championship by being the best player on the team with the margin that D Wade was in 06 when he had a good supporting cast. Don't forget it was just his 3rd year in the league. Wade was probably in terms of skills and accomplishments the best guard to ever do it in his first years. He was a champion way quicker than Jordan, and way quicker a champion than Kobe as the undisputed man on his team. Just because Kobe (unfortunately) isn't with us anymore, doesn't mean other players weren't just as worthy as he was if doing great things. Dwyane Wade is the most underappreciated player ever.

I would argue its alot more then moderate discipline. The culture is based on discipline and responsibility. A moderate discipline would be be you show up to practice on time and ready to go. Heat discipline seems more like you show up 30 min before in heat provided uniform are warmed up and have already started practicing

We had to stick with Rio, Joel Anthony, have Bosh at the 5 sometimes, use whiteside (which i was never a fan of), traded for Lowry & so on. We’ve been depending on our forwards & shooting 3s but I believe if we had a true 5 then we could’ve matched up with Denver this past finals or the finals in 2020.

I think the reason miami did so bad the 2021 season was because them and the lakers had the shortest offseason in NBA history. They didn't have time to relax, let their bodies recover, train properly, get fit for the next season, and get their heads straight. In reality if they had a real offseason, that mental strain probably wouldnt have been so bad.

That's why Warriors prefer beating their opponent with huge lead, their style of free falling basketball sometimes causes them games in clutch moments..they can afford to when they have huge leads.. Miami on the other hand mostly has close games, they are more dangerous when it's close game in the clutch

Fascinating to hear him talk about the Warriors like that, their free-flowing style has brought them great success, and it’s pretty cool that their identity has been built on that despite those relative weaknesses (turnovers etc). If they played the way the Heat did, it would’ve probably not worked out for them anyway, Steph & Draymond need to be able to have that freedom, but maybe that speaks to their generational talent as well.

Different factors come into play with that, the warriors culture probably fits for players like Steph and Draymond to have thet freedom, as well as the young guys in the team so they don't feel that pressure that can stun their growth, and I think the player that fits that culture the most is by far Klay given his personality. Miami's culture is great and respected for so long and have given them success too, I don't think it's easy to say which culture is better, just depends on the fit based on players the two teams have. Warriors obviously had more success recently so it's easy to say they have better culture, but warriors talent specifically Steph is far greater than anyone in Miami's rn. But if Miami has that level of talent they can win more, like when they had lebron

Prior to DWade, the Heat were a regular season team that didn't hold up too well in the playoffs outside of one season and they still struggled going to the ECF. Prior to that, the Heat sucked.
