JK axles in a Jeep WJ AXLE SWAP!

I go over the reasons I selected the JK Dana 30 and Dana 44 for my Jeep WJ axle swap and also go over some pros and cons to this specific set up. In addition to that I go over some of the ways I’ll be upgrading these axles before I install them!

I have an opportunity to pick up ‘18 JLU axles for my 03 WJ, first quest is 2000 an excellent price for the D44 with 3.45 gears for rear and the Dana 30 up front.

That’s an awful price for not even rubi axles. There’s a reason people swap them out for bigger and better axles I’d recommend grabbing jk rubi axles or saving for tons

Only reason I considered this swap was because I had the jk axles laying around since my jk is now on Currie axles. I wouldn’t buy these and I’d sell them for like $750

If you didnt have the jk axles would you have felt comfortable with stockers up to 35s? Debating that for my own wj

I would have built both axles with correct gears, trusses, gussets and chromoly or RCV shafts just to be safe. Most people say you can’t run over a 35 on a d30 but I ran 37s on these jk axles until I got my Currie axles on the JKU so I’m very confident in the set up that’s going under it.
