I've done this like five times and it's fun every time. Scythes are always my favorite weapons in both fromsoft games and souls likes, and the burial blade has to be my favorite.

Laurence is harder for me because I lack of patience. He has killed me the most due to not being able to parry a giant beast. Also, took me a while to learn his second phase attack pattern, but in my first run, died the most to orphan, indeed.

Recently I've become quite fond of long two handed weapons. My funnest playthrough of Bloodborne was Hunter's Axe which I primarily used the halberd form. Burial Blade also scratched the same itch of long sweeping weapon.

BSB was my personal nightmare on my first run, because I had no idea that resistances scaled with HP, and I was used to level damage first from the other souls games. The poison ticks with almost no vit are NO JOKE. I died to it the most of all bosses (including DLC) I think.

I remember it being one of my favorite weapons BUT it had a lack of damage for my build AND the attacks had a sort of end lag that got me hit a few times. I found myself however running a beast build with some claws I found in a challice dungeon.(before they were on the wiki or any video so was a nice surprise)

@JKLeeds can you beat Lords of the fallen 2023 with just a stick? It's an item that you can get pretty early on but it's after the first actual boss (a player can actually get summoned in and drop the stick for you before you face the tutorial boss, that way you won't "invalidate the run") it can be upgraded to +10. And once you get a certain armor set towards the middle to late game, it will have a percentage chance to apply a status effect, depending on how many times you've pet a dog.

@JKLeeds the game itself isn't too terribly long. And it has a NG+0 feature so the enemies and such don't get harder if you want to just familiarize yourself with it, using a leveled up character. I know you probably have a ton of runs lined up, but I thought I'd suggest one just in case. Regardless I love your content and puns!

Tbh, I already know the Burial Blade rocks. It's been my comfort weapon since the end of my first playthrough because the dodge attacks and rally are Great One tier, and it limb breaks fairly well for a skill weapon. I just wanted to see how you'd make it wild. Keep up the good work. 😂

It's kind of a nice incentive for NG+ to put such a cool weapon right at the end, but I never really enjoyed Bloodborne's NG+ experience. So when I've done a new run and wanted to use the scythe, I've gotten the three 1/3 umbilical cords and then left the moon presence fight after Gehrman and bought the scythe. I had then saved the DLC and kept most or all optional bosses alive. That way there's stil a lot of bosses/content to use the weapon on. I always thought you needed the original weapon before you could get the chalice dungeon versions, but maybe I was wrong about that.

But what about the Amygdala in the chalices (The cursed one with reduced HP). That took me more than 40 tries. Please tell me I'm not the only one who suffered so much with that boss. Also, Lawrence becomes hard if you are not patient I believe... Nothing a trip to Yosefka's Clinic won't fix, ey. But, in all honesty, very well done. Amazing performance for a first playthrough of Bloodbone, and for dealing with the Chalices as well.
