@@almabayomi8065 HI, sorry for the late response. For some reason your comment wasn't visible until now. Have you tried other inputs? If they don't work either, do other items work like a DVD for example? Cable box... etc? If it's a Roku stick a universal remote won't work with it. The Roku stick requires either the original remote or one that sends out an RF signal. This remote is IR only.

So I used this remote and your video to set up my Emerson DVD/VHS Combo player. The remote only works on for DVD side though. Any way to fix this? I used the code that came with the RCA remote.

I believe you might have to set those combo units up as two different units.. Try setting up an Emerson TV, and an Emerson DVD as if they're two devices and see if that helps

I was able to program this remote to my phillips tv, however it would only turn the tv on and off when I press the tv button. Is there a way to de-program the remote to start over? The tv wont turn on and off with the power button on the remote, only the tv button. 😮

I think if you download the manual if you don't already have it, there's a factory reset procedure.. but you shouldn't have to do that, you should just be able to put a new code right on top of the old one and it'll erase it... but yea, you probably hit on a code that only partially works.. if that doesn't work, thy the auto code search.

Some of those Bose systems use an RF remote. If yours has an RF remote you can’t use a universal remote since it uses IR signals. Does yours have this? Also does this remote have an audio device button? I think this is one of the ones that doesn’t. If not, this remote doesn’t control an audio system anyway.

If that Roku stick is behind the Tv, which I suspect it is, since it has to plug into the HDMI port.. This remote only works with IR.. It's probably not reaching around to the back of the TV.

HI, the remote doesn't actually "connect" to the TV.. It only sends out signals that your TV will recognize when they are the right ones... Did you try all the codes? The auto code search?

I don't think there's any dedicated way to access the smartcast with this remote. I could be wrong. If you push all the buttons to see what they do, maybe one of them will access it. I don't have a TV like that here to experiment with.

It might not have that option. You should be able to access the TV menu and change the screen size from in there. It's a pretty basic remote, but it might still work.

Are you doing an auto code search? So every time you press the play button, the remote should send out 10 codes. So did your TV cut off during all 3 batches you pressed play? Not sure, I need more info. If your TV turns off during one of the batches of 10 codes, you press reverse to back up until you find the code (up to 10 times) When your TV responds, press the stop button to store the code.

So for some reason Roku doesn't accept commands from HDMI-CEC. The Amazon Fire-Stick can do this. If you're using a Roku stick or a Roku device that uses an RF remote then it's not going to work, unfortunately.

Please use the method in the video and substitute the device for the DVD-Blueray button. You'll have to get the code from the book that it came with, or you can google codes for this RCA remote.
