僕にとって、5番のほうは一番難しかった！外国人だからそういう会話を日本語で聞くのはなかなか珍しいですよね この練習を作ってくれてありがとうございました！4点できたのに、正解の答えを知っても会話の全部を聞き取れなかったところも多くだから、2回字幕と見直すのはとてもいい練習になりました！

Can someone explain the diagram in the first exercice ? Or how to interpret it ? It just makes no sense to me even with the answer given afterwards

This is a ridiculous question. I understood everything but I couldn't answer. It's more like a detective quiz.

They are talking at the company, girl says “There’s a new Italian restaurant” and guy says “Isn’t that the one just right in front?” Taking that into consideration which boxes face each other? Its number 2 and 4. Then guy says “What about the Japanese Restaurant beside it? (it here means the Italian restaurant)” meaning which boxes are near each other? Number 2 and 3 so it means Number 2 is the Italian Restaurant and Number 3 is the Japanese Restaurant. Number 4 which is just right in front is the company? or the guy’s place (which he said at the start) Afterwards, guy says “How about Burgers then?” Girl answers “Yeah but I don’t want to walk that far” meaning which box is far from their Company which is Number 4 means Number 1 is the Burger Place. Guy says in the end “Then I’ll take a Burger” so this says the answer is Number 1 😂

@@mnemonic8757 I completely agree with you. The first question is not a test of language ability. It's more like an IQ test. As if taking a language exam isn't stressful enough... Really makes me wonder about the mentality of the people that make these questions.

@@ssgg7078 Duolingo is straight garbage. I reccomend everyone avoids that app like the plague. I tried using it after having one course in Japanese in college and dropped it hafter 15 minutes.

Still have a lot to learn I see, thanks for this video!! I understood most of what was said but was caught out by the correct answers having to be inferred rather than explicitly stated. Missing a couple of key words was enough to throw me off of being confident about the answers. But still, even though I got most of them wrong, I understood most of it, so I don't feel too disappointed. I wasn't really sure what level I was working at at the moment anyway, so somewhere between N4 and N3 feels pretty good to me!

For the first question it was never stated that number 4 was the company so there was no way we could have answered it correctly. It was only revealed to be the company when you gave the answer.

Why was question 1 translated as "usually"? I thought they were asking, "Where will he eat?" The conversation doesn't say he usually eats hamburgers, just that he wants one today.

Funnily enough, my only miss was question 5. I caught neither in the city nor the workplace vocab, so I was completly lost. The laundry question was much easier, even if I dont know what sentaku is, I know that tbey said to do it before the rain starts, and then the rain has already started.

To any one worrying about question 1, don't. I understood all of the Japanese but was still unable to answer the question. I then showed it to 2 Japanese colleagues at work and they both got it wrong. What an absolutely ridiculous question.
