Dunno about Oasis, but The Beatles' name was famously inspired by The Crickets and the fact that they were a beat group. From '75 to '79 ELO never put a foot wrong! Jo K. Is OK. ;)

For an artist who railed against all the crap prcatices of the legal/music industry, Zappa's estate is so mired in legal issues that when Dweezil toured 'Zappa by Zappa' he was hit by a cease-and-desist lawsuit by his dad's estate - which is controlled by his own brother Ahmet and sister Moon! I believe it's mostly down to Zappa's widow Gail who put such stringent conditions on the use & performance of Frank's catalogue, that even his own children cannot perform his work live.

Oasis is about as bland a band as you can find, so the name had a logic. Thug Rock. I'd forgotten about Dead can Dance, what a disaster !.Gong for a few years in the early 70's, genius. These chats take you back, enjoyed.
