Imagine what the result would have been, if the black community stop watching "Netflix" we are a huge audience, and our opinion does count. In the "Civil Rights" era the black community nearly put the bus companies out of business, when they boycott them for forcing us to sit on the "back of the bus" strength is in numbers! The producers never gave Foxworth hardly any lines nor never had a part of show designed around her. I love Everybody Hates Chris tv show because they gave all the main characters their spotlight on every show. But truthfully after season 5 Family Matters got boring and Jaleel White (Urkel) started doing dumb stuff for laughs like falling down the steps for no reason or putting his hand on a hot stove and knocking over all the furniture in the house. He became another John Ritter (Jack Tripper) and it got annoying hearing a grown man talking with a high pitch voice. When he first started, he was a cool and smooth-talking nerd.

Reboots usually suck because the nostalgia kick wears thin after maybe one or two episodes. Once you get over the novelty of seeing the characters once again, there is no reason to continue watching the show. Cobra Kai is the only “reboot” I liked, and I wouldn’t count it since it is based on a movie and not an episodic TV series. And really, do we really want to see a 45-year-old Urkel with a wife and kids? For how long could that keep us entertained? And Laura Winslow hasn’t exactly kept herself in TV shape.
@hunibuni Жыл бұрын
True reboots would be fine, but most of the time we get "reboots" merely for the sake of giving hollywierd the opportunity to interject updated propaganda to match the progress of their lotta letters agendas and it absolutely shows that their primary focus was on using nostalgia like a trojan horse, the writing is almost always horrendous and the main cast members are the propaganda itself.

I've never been a celebrity or extra, so I can't speak on how the business part works. But I can speak on what I know, and that's being a consumer or patron. If the success of hollywood films, corporations, politicians, and retailers depend on the support from the people, then I think it behooves them to give the people want they want....not serve us what they think we should have. In my observations surrounding "Judy", black folks missed her, and always speak about her. Infamous phrase in our community: "Judy went upstairs & never came down." And it almost brought tears to my eyes too, when Ms. Payton said the executives said "No one will notice." It's just a little too close to their sentiment of black folks for the last 400 years. The short-sighted caucacity of that statement, when Judy is always brought up when black folks discuss Family Matters. Always. It's time for black folks to be selfish when caping for one of our own. #B-1st #OnCode

Another thing about the Judy Winslow character was that she appeared till the end of season 4. That is about halfway through the series. Being that she was on the show for that length of time, it just made it more odd that they gave her exit no explanation at all. The character was also a part of the immediate family, not a friend or sidekick. The same thing happened to Chrissy Snow's character on Three's Company. They reduced her to the tag scenes and then she was gone. No explanation whatsoever. Of course we the viewers knew she had some behind the scenes drama about her wanting a hefty pay raise. I heard the producers were so upset with the situation that they made it a rule to never mention the Chrissy character ever again. The Chuck Cunningham character was written out of Happy Days after two seasons, no explanation to whatever happened to him. Its like he just vaporized.

I always hated that why would they make her disappear
@mlynettepinky5952 жыл бұрын
What they did to her, in Hollywood, it's called the Cunningham Syndrome Writers and producers fault, they did nothing with her character. Steve Urkel was only supposed to be in a few episodes. People loved him so they decided to keep him as a main character After the brought in Jaleel as a main character, the writers forget about Judy, she wasn't even seen that much. Getting rid of her was wrong and stupid, because they kept Richie and later brought another kid Orlando Brown as 3J In Hollywood it's called the Cunningham Syndrome. If you where alive in the 70's/ 80's or seen reruns of Fonzi on Happy Days, they had a main character who was on only 2 episodes The Cunningham's had a older son, who was on the show and mysteriously disappeared. Producers got rid of the oldest son, because people liked Fonzie more and his character wasn't needed *The Chuck Cunningham Syndrome occurs when a character in a television mysteriously vanishes from the show. No write-off, no death, not even a passing explanation of what happened to the character.* Save by the bell did the same thing too. The show was based around a teacher name Miss Bliss They got rid of her and other students without any explanation

@Cee-Allah that’s the not the same thing because they kept the Aunt Viv character on the show for all the seasons they just replaced the actor in the latter half of the shows run so it’s not exactly the same.

Ya’ll need to listen to Jaimee’s podcast on how she felt about getting written off and how she was treated by Jaleel. It’s heartbreaking. She didn’t want to talk about it but she felt like she had to clear the air after Jaleel and Darius said some things about her not ‘nailing her lines’ on the show.

Such an interesting point... If they had taken the oldest child who could explain that child away by they went to college or they join the army but the baby child it is very strange the fact that they thought no one would notice, as absurd as in the TV show Happy Days the oldest son went upstairs and never came down but he kind of was in college or was getting ready to go to college and they just made no mention of him again

I enjoyed Family Matters but I don’t know if the show needs to be reboot as a series, sometimes it went over the top with Urkel. When Urkel was younger it was funny, but as he got older Urkel wasn’t as funny to me anymore, and the storylines became ridiculous. I wouldn’t mind that they would do an hour special. As far as Judy character being written off I thought that was wrong also, they kept the little boy even after Thelma Hopkins had left the show. I Loved that Jo Marie Payton felt as we all did how could they do that to a little girl ( her baby)? It’s obvious Producers did not care.

One of the things that brought me to Family Matters was, they all looked alike. It was believable. Judy looked like Carl. And Eddie and Laura looked alike . Momma Winslow in all. It was a family
@glenn7872 жыл бұрын
I got chills when she said "the very first episode has to be that she comes down those stairs." This might sound trivial, but that statement made me think of the value society places on black children. A family could lose a child due to gun violence, abuse, kidnapping, etc... But it's only if they are white that society wants answers and seeks justice.

I would definitely LOVE to see Jaimee Foxworth back on a reboot. The way that she was written off did not sit too well. Being that Telma Hopkins left the show as a main character following this season, it could have been written that Judy moved to Detroit with Rachel. But unfortunately, we can't rewrite the past. But the way that they brought John Amos back in on Good Times Live (even though he played Alderman Davis), they can bring Jaimee back AS Judy. And like Jo Marie said, bring her back down those stairs.
I ain't gonna lie. When I was a kid, I thought Judy was Rachel's kid and Richie's older sister. They acted more like siblings to me and such.

I hate the fact that they gotten rid of Jamie Foxworth. Jo Marie Payton fought very hard to get her back on. Imagine the whole cast quitting because of that? It wouldn't be no Family Matters at all. What I hate the most? That they got rid of Jo Marie for a lighter version of Harriet. When she was the main original character too begin with.

I'd love for Judy to be back. A lady on fb had the greatest way to bring her back in and boy oh boy that would be dope and they'd definitely do good to use that as a way to bring her back! I loved the original Harriet, I didn't like it much with the new Harriet. Also, if we see Jodie Sweetin did drugs and Bob Saget r.i.p was the total opposite of his wholesome TV dad persona and they were supported. Jaimee had a down time in her life and went to porn... Not the best decision like Jodie doing different drugs but they're people who make mistakes and shouldn't be shunned for it. So, the guy trying to make it seem like, Jaimee isn't worthy needs to just stop because I, and many others would love to see it. The show wouldn't have been created without Jo Marie in the first place. They all should have an opinion on it and well as viewers should be given a poll so they can see if it's beneficial.
