Joan has been rocking for fifty years and is still going. She's my age, mid sixties, and I think I might have run across her back in the late seventies. She used to play some of the bars and clubs I used to frequent around the Jersey Shore back then. It's still kind of blur.

I saw her on this album's tour, back in about 1990. It was a great show. Since then I've seen her twice. About 10-15 years apart. She never disappoints. He vocals have never wavered, and her band is always on it!

First saw Joan Jett live in Dec '86 while in college at a local club.. amazing show. Then thru the '90s she toured a lot in the NE, so could usually catch her 3 times a year in NJ, PA, MD & DE in small to medium size club. Always an awesome show!

Joan Jett was the original, genuinely badass, Punk Princess, one of the original members of the Runaways (A Mecury Records created all girl Punk Band) when she was 16. When I say Punk, she was playing CBGB’s in NYC and toured with the likes of The Ramones, the Sex Pistols and Van Halen among others..

one of my friends ran into her at a coffee shop in Jackson ms about 1990 i think (she did a concert here, i missed it like an idiot =( , anyway he said her charisma was so high that people just flocked to her and were smiling at her and most didnt even know who she was, she wasnt dressed up or anything either he said. People just wanted to be around her, he said it was weird and she looked a little uncomfortable but super nice

Great song! Great reaction! Please check out the Independent band Liliac's version of I hate Myself for Loving You. It's a female lead band of siblings and they are fantastic! Melody's voice is amazing! Many covers and many originals to choose from! Mars (Live in Cumming GA) is great original along with Madness to start!

Joan Jett was one of the Runaways, as was Lita Ford - both were very popular in the 80s. Lita Ford's career was destroyed by her control freak husband who locked her out of her own home when she tried to restart her career. Joan Jett would go on for years as a headliner. Joan Jett was turned down by over a dozen labels before starting her own. Joan Jett tends to be a strong personality as I remember when I worked at a major radio station (singers/groups would come through to promote songs/albums often in the 80s).
