As a professional musician, I could kiss the bass player and the vibraphone player (not to mention all the others, including background vocalists). They give so much to the special sound. And the one person not on stage, who should be, is the arranger. Holy crap, what a killer arrangement. The "dynamics" - loud and soft parts - add a lot of drama. If you're not a musician, you may miss this, but there's an incredible modulation :47 - :49 that would make Bach smile. I'm in awe of everything about this performance - it's one for the ages!

Next to the Original version this could have been a single by her and the Funk Brothers. Soulful and Perfect in every way. Good going Joan!

Normally I'm not big on covers of great songs BUT this is a smoking version of the Jimmy Ruffin classic ! She really knocks it out of the park. Fantastic !!!

I listen to this regularly. Sometimes everything just clicks. This was one of those times. Great song, great lead singer, sensational back-up and a magnificent, well conducted band. Musical magic.

When everything is right. The band, the backup singers, who are like angels, this immensely gifted singer and the right song. For me, this is the best ever.

Great cover of this song! True to the voice and emotion of Jimmy Ruffin - thanks, Ms. Osborne.

Unbelievable, This young lady not only did justice to this song but to me..Made it even better with her version..along with the band being tight and the perfect back up singers put it all Tight..old school..

I am no fan of cover songs, but damn, damn. this women did the song proud. amazing. passionate. soulful. right from the heart and slam into your soul. I have tears in my eyes every time I see and listen to this, and anyone who knows about music will understand what I am expressing to you.

+Faeden Right beside you, Faeden. Puts a lump in my throat every damn time. Everyone on that stage knows their musical potatoes through and through; and their pleasure in queueing up that number again is clear. As much as I enjoyed Jimmy Ruffin's original cover, Joan absolutely killed it. Her version is, for me, the ace and deuce of the "Brokenhearted" canon.

+Faeden some songs are just beautiful words and melody but it's the artist , that puts the whipped cream and cherry on top. :-) joan seems to bare her soul from the 3 minute mark on and the result is pure raw emotion. bravo
