Give the Joana’s bread and mayo with Tia’s sandwich. I too, am not a fan of ciabatta bread...and I love bread. Unless you’re able to eat it freshly baked, it’s just hard and it’s texture doesn’t go with with a sandwich.

If the ciabatta bread had been smeared with mayo and placed on a pan it would have browned the inside nicely and also the steam would have softened the buns for a better texture.

It felt like Joanna knew more of what she was doing than Tia. A BLT is a tomatoes sandwich first and the tomatoes need to be seasoned along with toasted bread. J. Kenji Lopez-Alt made the best BLT possible.
