Christopher Jeffies was treated so badly by the press. He was the Landlord and retired professor who lived in the flat above Jo’s. He was eccentric and the press just painted him as the villain. Christopher was 100% innocent and yet his life was turned upside down by the press and public opinion. The rightful killer is now in prison. RIP Jo.

I was living in Bristol at the time and remember how sad and shocked everyone was by this awful tragedy. Her poor landlord was vilified in the press despite being 100% innocent (and by all accounts of my acquaintances who knew him, was actually a lovely man). Lovely to see you leaving flowers for Jo, I hope her family have found some peace and happiness in recent years.

This case was heartbreaking. I recall them arresting the wrong neighbour and he was guilty as charged by the press and some people who knew him. Disgraceful what they did when it was the weirdo with a girlfriend who had done the awful crime and mostly for sexual gratification of some warped kind. Jo lost her life because of a pervert. Twenty years minimum wasn't enough, as hes a threat to women whatever age he is when released.

Poor girl who's life had hardly started and sadly meeting a lunatic. The jail sentence cannot make up for what he's done. No rational person can understand why you would take another person's life. A recent news story shows the murderer has been moved to Winchester prison from Yorkshire and his sentence was a minimum of 20 years. He should get a whole life tariff. Shame there is no death sentence

Thank you Paul for covering the story of Joanna. I did not know her but I'm a Bristolian and followed & still remember her case/story. This was close to home as Joanna was only 3yrs older than my own daughter and we both worked at the time in a hotel down the road so The Ram was one of the pubs frequently visited by us. My heart breaks for her family, joanna had her whole life ahead of her. I hope the family is one day able to find peace. Joanna is remember in Bristol sadly by her untimely end rather than the lovely person I gather she was, but she is remembered. Love to her family/boyfriend/friends & Thank you Paul for being so respectful & her beautiful flowers.

Hi Paul, I recently discovered your channel and I've been bingeing! I live in Dudley, West Midlands and here in Dudley Cemetery you'll find the grave of Duncan Edwards, who was one of the 'Busby Babes' (Man Utd). He died from his injuries following the Munich Air disaster in 1958. There's also a statue of him in the towns market place. Loving your channel, keep it up!

My Mum still has the Pictures , is it true Lenny Henry's Mum is buried just in front of Duncan ? I'd be Grateful if you would let me know ? We all felt we knew Jo. Because we saw the dreadful pain inflicted on her family and loved ones. Their Christmas was cancelled and their perilous wait for news. Then the dread. I and others often remember her at Christmas. Utterly sad. Her beautiful creative life truncated, cut off. A sudden painful Tragedy. Its her parents, partner and close bonds pain and therefore we must always remember victims like Fun loving, innocent unfortunate Jo. Well filmed with kindness and empathy.

Paul handled with compassion and sensitivity. I’ve watched a couple of programmes on this poor girls story He knocked on her door and being neighbourly she invited him in and offered him one of the ciders she’d bought. As he never gave an explanation it was surmised his motive was sexual. Joanne fought for her life but was no match for him after killing her he drove round to find some where to hide her body and then went shopping to establish an alibi. He then went with his girlfriend back to his home country for Christmas. Police managed to contact him by phone to enquire had he heard anything as his flat was back to back with hers. It was him that pointed the finger of suspicion at their landlord saying his car was facing one way and when he got home he noticed it had moved and was facing another direction. Because of this Mr Jeffries was taken in to custody his home searched his car taken away and his picture in all the papers who named him as a suspect. He may look different but he is a highly intelligent man owns the two large houses renting them out as several flats apart from the one he lived in. The poor man’s life became a nightmare on the say so of the real killer. Mr Jeffries successfully sued the papers and was payed a great deal of money in damages and was issued an apology from the police. And as we know Tabard was found to have committed the crime and after pleading guilty was given life. He took Joanne’s life he ruined her fiancée life . He ruined her parents and brother lives and the landlord had his life ruined also not to mention Tabards girlfriend life. All these people were his victims. RIP Joanne with the Angels 👼now.

This is so incredibly sad and upsetting. There seems to be so many beautiful women killed for no reason, it's utterly sickening and why can't we do something about it? it's just horrific and very very sad indeed. A tragic waste of a life for no reason whatsoever. I hope someone gets to the guy in jail and ends him in a very painful way.. bastard! (The way you did this video was really good and very respectful, thank you!)
