Gees, why is so many concerned about the 1300 calories - look at her, she's a tiny little asian girl. You can moderate it, for your own preferences, if you want to. You're probably not in lack of food, if you're watcing this. If you want to add 100-200 calories more a day, then DO it. Beacause you can. She made an effort making this video, and you're sitting here posting negative comments. Did she kill your grandma? Did she ate a newborn? No. She just made an inspirational video. Get over yourselves.

Haha well said!! I thrive on just 1400 calories a day and losing weight thanks to a vegan lifestyle and whole plant based foods :)! Everyone is different when it comes to how many calories but we definitely should all be eating whole plant based foods! :)

Too funny @sheila Camilla Nielsen, I was just commenting today to my friends how I've always been on a strict 1200 cal/day diet to lose and maintain. I started eating a WFPB diet and did Joanna's meal planning and I'm LOSING more weight while eating more calories!!! Almost 300 more calories/day!!! It's all about the quality, not the quantity when it comes to calories I guess. Lol

THANK YOU. I'm about a foot taller than her and you know what I do? I JUST EAT MORE. It's not her job to perfectly tailor it to everyone's size and body type, and I'd bet if this was a 2,000 calorie video there would be people bitching it was too much food and "Oh you'll get fat!" I've even seen people accusing her of promoting anorexia!

I notice people complaining about the low calories but this is a meal plan to loose weight. She never said that this is her everyday meal plan. Also Jo did say to adjust the meals for your calorie intake so if it's too low add more veggie/fruit portions. I think she is also pushing the protein because it helps kick up your bodies ability to loose weight and to help maintain muscle. People fast & cleanse all the time in an attempt to loose weight only to gain it back when they begin eating again. This meal plan can be a stepping stone to help be aware of food choices and portion sizes. I had a friend in jr high who was put on a 1500 calorie diet and her lunch was one slice of white bread with a slice of lunch meat and carrot sticks! As "small" as these meals are at least they are all pretty nutrient dense and food is being taken in every 3 hours. Once you up you activity level and eat whole foods you metabolize food quicker and can increase portion sizes without so easily gaining weight. This seems to be aimed at vegans who consume more packaged/fast vegan foods and need that inspiration to loose weight & eat whole food meals that aren't time consuming.

I like these videos because you give a lot of alternatives in case the ingredient is not available to the viewer. Sometimes there are certain things that are not sold in the supermarket, or they're too expensive, or maybe there's an allergy, or you just simply don't like it! It's good to have other options, thank you for showing us the other options :)

Some pre-packaged foods can be good. Microwavable steamed brown rice and/or other wholegrains (with no additives) and tins of low sodium fish are staples for me when I'm low on time. There are also packs of vegetable portions with nothing added to them that can also steam in the microwave. I also like quick oats, as long as it's just oats or oats and other wholegrains. I think people are more likely to eat healthy if it's convenient. I think the key is to just be sensible and only buy pre-packaged foods that are still pretty much exactly what they were before they were packaged. Salt and sugars and things being ground up so fine that there is no longer any good healthy fibre is probably the main worry with pre-packaged foods. They definitely can pack a lot of junk in there, but it's not hard to look at the back of the pack and see if it's something sensible to eat or not.

Protein is in everything. It not that vital that vegans go the extra mile for protein. I mean, protein is important to everyone. But I don't consciously try to include protein in my diet, and when I got my blood work back recently I was in the normal range for protein in my blood (I'm vegan).

@saneblane
@saneblane 9 жыл бұрын
Line Broe I have a question. Didn't freelee used to be forcefully 100 percent raw ???? I haven't watched her videos in over a year and recently I saw that she seems to be promoting eating cooked foods like pasta. I swear I once watched a video where she ate some cooked beans and claimed that it made her sick and bloated. What happened?
@strangerinastrangeland3516
@strangerinastrangeland3516 9 жыл бұрын
MsMuahXoXo Freelee the banana girl doesn't look nearly as healthy or vibrant as Joanna Soe. Not only is Joanna smarter, physically superior and attractive, but seems a whole lot more mentally calmer and stable as well - this is because she doesn't have to continually defend her diet because it will actually work - the freelee / durianrider camp know that their diet is ridiculous and deficient and aggressively have to defend it.
@strangerinastrangeland3516
@strangerinastrangeland3516 9 жыл бұрын
MsMuahXoXo Actually, come to think of, who actually cares what FreeLee the banana girl thinks - I mean seriously, who denoted her the god of diets ?, and why are some people so scared about “offending” her by disagreeing with her point of view, I mean, seriously people - she is just a human being, with a particular radical diet that works for a small % of the population, end of story.

Charlie X of course having a calorie deficit will cause weight loss, duh... it's not about the weight, it's about healing the body from all the chemicals that we ingested throughout the years... and starving ourselves with diets that are not sustainable and caused us amazing mental disruptions. With all of the fitness and health advice that is going around, of course someone like freelee who is promoting the exact opposite will be a bit defensive, but i see it as passion, because it works well for the long term... try eating high carbs raw for a few weeks and see how you feel... it's amazing how your entire being just changes :)

This is my opinion having a background Sports and Health Science. I am not really into counting calories, this feel monotonous (for me and people I have worked with) and not necessary. If however you are someone that feels the need to count by all means do what feels natural. Here is a simple meal plan that I use and recommened to many clients and friends I have worked with, feel free to alter the fruits or veggies to your liking, this is simply what I enjoyed. For breakfast: 1/2 Cooked Quinoa, add blueberries, 1/4 almonds, flax seeds, raisens and sprinkle Cinnamon. Snack 1: Blend Almond Milk, banana, spirulina, kale and hemp seeds. Easy Herbal smoothie I also enjoy an orange along with my smoothie. For lunch 1/2 Cooked Quinoa, strawberries, walnuts, grapes and Cinnamon Snack 2 Blend Almond Milk, banana, baby spinach, chia seeds and dark leafy greens. I also enjoy a cut up honey crisp apple along with my smoothie. For Dinner I enjoy a warm soup (I live in MN), if you want the actual step-by-step recipe I can provide. However the soup consist of; Broccoli, carrots, oinons, almond milk, water, diced red potatoes and a pinch of salt and pepper. I use oragnic blue corn tortilla chips as scoops to dip in. Hope this helps :)!
