This is so demotivational, one of the people said he made $40 his first year. Most of the younger generations aren't that privileged, we are working 4 jobs, 7 days a week, just to afford a roof over our heads. We can't afford to be broke for a year just in hopes that next year we will be successful.

I started off with buying a Ryobi pressure washer from Harbor Freight for around $80 and bought a better wand for it. Drove around a couple of neighborhoods and pressure washed small driveways for $50-$100 per. Took pics and posted on social media along with contact info. Business has been jumping off since then. Doing it for almost 2 years now as a side hustle and have made over $150K.... Thinking about going full time and hopefully double that.

That's interesting. Do you have a water tank? Do you have have a pickup truck. I was thinking of just doing driveways part time, just as a side hustle. I like your story. You got to charge more than $100!! What state?
@dongordon7225 Жыл бұрын
@markj6681 that was then. Yes I have a pick up truck a water tank and a generator. But the difference now clients don't have a problem with me using their water and electricity so it makes a world of difference. So now that I have a nice reputation with all of them plus new clients I was able to actually quit my full time job and do this full time. The reason why I charged up to $100 was because at the time the neighborhoods in Tennessee people have short driveways. But now I charge $250 per driveways for residential areas for a certain square footage. Anything more than that range I charge more but still keep it affordable for most of my clients. It's the HOA you want to look for because they have no choice but to keep it their areas clean or else they'll get a fine and of course they don't won't to pay those fines and don't want to do it themselves really. So I have a whole neighborhood to myself consisting of 125 houses ranging from $250-$550 per. I do this for every house every month so they money is crazy good just to play in some water at the clients expense. So what did I do with my water tank and generator you ask, I now also provide a trash can cleaning service. I charge $25 for the first can and $10 for each additional can. I treat the cans with a pre-rinse of bleach and all purpose cleaner. Then use my pressure washer and foam cannon to soap it up real good then use a long handle brush to start the initial cleaning inside and out before pressure washing with the rinse. Then I dry the cans with my blower then use a pump sprayer to add a fragrance to the cans. PEOPLE LOVE IT. I hope this helps and good luck with your potential success
@Mster_J Жыл бұрын
@@dongordon7225how did you secure all those houses in that neighborhood? Door to door or did you talk with HOA and they sent emails to everyone about your service? Also, what are the services you are providing every month because driveways really only need to be pressure washed no more than once a year? Thanks!
@themaestro533810 ай бұрын
@@dongordon7225what do you do with the stuck on crud in the can? I assume that can’t just be washed off out into the street right? When you got started did everyone just let you use their water so you charge just for the labor basically and then once you move up to having your own tank you charged more? I already have a pretty good washer I use on my home. I don’t know how much to charge. I have a truck, but no idea what a tank and all that would even cost.

Do not fall for the easy game IT TAKES HARD WORK. You need to do your research, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. Sure it is easy to get in it but you can damage something if you do not know what you are doing. People see the money but people don't realize that there are upkeeps to the equipment, insurance, truck payments, trailer payments, chemicals, and so on. You might walk out with a couple of hundred bucks, and it depends on how many you have booked for that day. the first couple of years it's going to be hard or it could be hard forever who knows. I see lot of comments from people that don't know what their talking about or doing things wrong. If you are in a place or state where you don't make money in the business you run, look for the problems. Maybe you are in the wrong state or place for the job you do as an entrepreneur. If people don't value your prices, change the place where you live, or change the work you do. Look for what is needed in that area. Being an entrepreneur is more than just the money. Doing research before you start a business is crucial. People just think that entrepreneurs make lot of money. But that's wrong. There is way more than that before even starting with a business. I 'm an entrepreneur for 14 years, and it is hard work, research, always learning new things, be able to find solutions for problems, and so on. Easy money does not exist.

Is it ok when you start to just do it under your name without a business license if you’re not doing anything risky, ie. Just drives and sidewalks until you can see if you’re actually going to be able to make a business out of this? Thanks

I know 12 companies in my town. Every Tom dick and Harry has a pressure washer. These businesses only work in the suburbs for residential or in the city for Comercial. In the country and residential cities, nobody can afford to pay 150 an hour so they hire the landscapers to do it for 50 an hour

There is ALOT of comeptition. Any one can pick up a power washer learn quickly and start making a clientel. Dont make huge investments in franchises in an industry like this.

Ironic that the guy whos business name is “ECO”Kleen is the guy who says he uses a bunch of chemicals like chlorine and the guy whos name is “Advanced” Bin Cleaning is the actual eco friendly guy who uses plain hot water, a not so advanced approach.

All the pressure washer guys I know are jacked with massive forearms. Not saying you’re holding a fireman’s hose. But some of commercial grade stuff is tiring after spraying 8 hours a day. Take it from a work from home guy who tried to help his buddy by who does run a his own power washing business. Shit is brutal if not in shape. On top of that the networking,initial business on top of that expertise to how to do the job effectively as possible while going as fast as possible to meet all your clients.

I currently have a trucking business , can I start janitorial services once I add the requirements/permits or do I have to start a new llc ?
@JobberАй бұрын
Hi there! You don't necessarily have to start a new LLC if you're adding janitorial services to your existing trucking business. You can operate both businesses under the same LLC, as long as they fall within the scope of your LLC's articles of organization. However, you may want to consider updating your business name or filing for a DBA (Doing Business As) if you want to operate under a different name for the janitorial services. Of course, it's always best to consult a professional if you're unsure!

6-800 for pressure washing and brush? about 800 for pressure washer but those brushes are almost 800 unless you get a cheap ryobi 100 one.
@Jobber Жыл бұрын
Starting a pressure washing business requires some investment, but there are more affordable options available for both pressure washing brushes and pressure washers, including budget-friendly brands like Ryobi (like you mentioned). Finding a balance between quality and cost can help you get started without breaking the bank.
@dongordon7225 Жыл бұрын

How do you start this when I’m in seriously debt?!
@antoniomontana19759 ай бұрын
You have to apply common sense here. Remember that every guy on the Internet is benching 225lb and looks like Brad Pitt while making 7 figures working 2 hour days trading crypto The guys in this video are top 1% or even top 1% of top 1% of people in their field. Majority are not making anywhere close to that. Also, what is the margin on their business. The "I made $200k" means nothing if this is the revenue before expense and taxes. This is a low skill, commodity business so the barriers to entry are low and competition is high, so the margins are extremely slim.
@RipliWitani5 ай бұрын
Yeah no skill job. Being a successful trash bin cleaner won't get you anywhere except cleaning trash bins. If the goal is not to build a company, than most people will never make 200k

You don't want to use heavy pressure on a roof after putting chemicals down. However, a number of things one I've been doing this since I was in high school. I'm 40 by using chlorine on a shingled roof it's okay, but you're gonna go possibly do a little bit of damage. Chlorine is a very toxic No one I was like, nah, chemical. I mean, as you can see what it does to algae, it does a number to your skin, if you get it on it and leave it. Therefore, leaving chlorine on a roof for it to just rain and rinse off. Bad idea In my opinion, all that's doing is preventing you from getting a phone call. In my opinion, from somebody saying that you killed all of there Plants and grass around the surrounding area. Because it will limit the amount of chlorine coming off the roof all at once. I would advise the homeowner that I would definitely make their home. Look significantly nicer by using hard pressure. On the driveway sidewalks. Patio, walls, garage windows. And I would do it a shingled roof by using a sprayer, not even from on top of the roof I'm not even going up on a shingled roof I'm going to be on the the bladder at best spring and then I'm going to take a hose at a minimum, if not a straight line pressure cleaner from below hit the roof. As if it was raining on the spot for about 20 minutes, take the drains and put a special line where it runs from the got her to the driveway that way. When the chemical rolls down the roof into the gutter, it's going to come down the gutter, start my 2 downer driveway out into the road and not onto their plants. I respect everybody's method of doing things but absolutely not in my opinion, would I ever? Do what some companies call a chemical cleaning only in my opinion. If it is a tiled roof somebody needs to be up there with a pressure cleaner, somebody weighing no more than 200 pounds and using maybe a quick light spray, and then maybe letting it set for 20 minutes, but then hitting it immediately after with a surface cleaner. Ensuring that the butts of the roof are clean, trying to minimize the cracking of tiles. It's gonna happen. I don't care what anybody says. Oh I didn't crack any tiles. A 100%, you're cracking tiles when you're up there, even if you're a 120 pounds, you're going to hear a crack, and that's a broken tile. Also, you might want to advise the homeowner of broken tile. S, so in a storm, it doesn't come flying on their car, repair it. If you can, if it's minimal, there's just a lot of things, in my opinion that we all have to do to keep a professional business here, I would not keep Leach on a roof permanently, imagine if you got bleach on your skin. You rinse it off immediately. You don't leave it on there for every time you take a shower for it to come off, you take it off immediately. I know a roof is different than your skin, but it still has the same chemical aspect. It is going to burn

we've reached the part of the online guru cycle where the people selling the lifestyle of being a pressure washer have moved on to "selling the shovels" - aka, they are selling people on how great being a pressure washer is, yet their business is in making a profit from youtube engagement and selling courses, or selling the chems & turn-key trailers as we see with this industry. In car detailing they start to sell courses & the chemicals. First big sign that the established players in before the big rush have come to realize the occupation is not as easy as before because its saturated, so they move to sell to their previous competition using their larger amount of experience & knowledge.
