This remake was beautifully shot. The constant use creepy Xmas lights and holiday atmosphere is absolute perfection. You can watch this movie in summer and it will feel like a cold, winter night.

This is the best Lacey Chabert Christmas movie. The cast were great, especially Andrea Martin returning as the house mother. The creepy atmosphere, harsh colors, and gore were fantastic.

My best friend and I saw this in the theater when it came out. We had so much fun with it. It’s one of my favorite Christmas movies. Sure, the movie isn’t great, but it’s a fun slasher Christmas movie. If you love Christmas and you love horror then this is a good watch.

Really fun Christmas slasher. Characters played by known enough actresses that you can keep up with the kills, great use of christmas lighting for horror effect. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

I love this just as much as the original. The colorful festive palette is just so perfectly garish compared to the muted tone of the 1974 seriousness. The kills set the whole thing off for a gore ride in contrast to a less is more thriller.

According to Joe Bob, when doing the original black Christmas movie on shudder, most of the plot for the first remake was based on the idea from the original director's thoughts on a black Xmas sequel. And it was John Carpenter who asked him about his thoughts on a sequel to the movie also.

I just watched this last night. I always watch it on Christmas Eve and then watch the original on Christmas Day. Is it the perfect remake? No. Is it one of the best ones from the era? Yes! I love how this film pays tribute to the original while expanding on the lore and making itself its own beast. This is almost as much as a sequel as it is a remake. This movie has a lot of problems and I was rolling my eyes a lot, but that’s kind of the fun of it. It’s so over the top. It’s so gloriously zany. Just shut your brain off for an hour and a half and have some gory Christmas lit fun. I highly recommend it to any slasher fan who gets into the spirit during the holidays. Cheers, merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone. I just finished watching Christmas Eve from 1980. My all-time favorite Christmas horror film. Now it’s time to watch black Christmas 1974. Still kills me that Bob Clark directed not only black Christmas but also a Christmas story, the two seminole, Christmas films of all time. In two separate genres. Mind blowing.Also, can we talk about how ironic it is that Lacey Chabert is in this movie, when she stars in every single Christmas hallmark holiday movie that comes out? Crazy foreshadowing. Once again, two different genres, lol. Christmas horror is mind blowing. Merry Christmas everyone.

It is was available on Bluray. Very small run. Out of print and very expensive now.. I bought it in Best Buy after it came out. Well worth the upgrade as the DVD looks terrible.

I actually liked this flick just fine…. Liked that supportive characters are well developed and appealing…. One thing I hate is how “cluttered” the plot was and the kills were super repetitive …. Which they prob knew that cause the trailer footage was way more creative….. thank got we are done with every movie having an unrated DVD version….

Black Christmas 2006 is a 'Pathetic' remake, I just hate everything they done with this film. The Original 1974 Black Christmas is my All-Time favourite Slasher, that's why I hate the remake, it's an insult to the Original.
