@@SunDogGod The history man movement: A small global tribe that grew out at the same counterculture movements before the end of the world. Some say they came out of the hippie movement; others say they came out of the punk/metal tribal movements. But in all actuality, they came out that anarcho punk tribes right before the fall. They believed through accumulated knowledge they would be able to stop the snake from biting its own tail. There is neutrality towards the various warlords it's not only for survival, but it gives them a special position to help guide these so-called civilization builders. Now that the process of Civilization has speed up, the history man believes he now has an opportunity to chop off the head of the snake once and for all.

The thing about it too, and I was thinking about this... had that woman in the tent not told Demetrious that the mom and little girl escaped he would killed her for not telling him and so it may have been out of fear that she told him. he was extreamly cruel and sadistic; almost in such a way that watching other peoples suffering relieved him of his, and so any excuse he had to punish someone, he was all for it. She knew this.

You're wrong. All of these movies are produced by Westerners, with a Western worldview, and a Western sense of morality. These post-apocalyptic scenarios, in which society breaks down and there is no more law, no more police, no more government: they are reduced to barbarism for one simple reason, which is that at its core, Western civilization does not remedy barbarism. It keeps it contained. You need an authoritative body ruling over you, dictating to you what's moral and immoral, i.e. legal and illegal, and enforcing that law, because you don't trust your own self with that kind of responsibility and authority. That's why Western visions of worlds such as the one depicted in this movie are so ominous, unjust, and immoral. This is what you believe you'll resort to when given true freedom. Morality and law is imposed upon you by external authorities, and as soon as that's taken away, your society crumbles, your neighbor becomes your enemy, and immorality, lawlessness, and personal comfort are quickly prioritized. Your world becomes unsafe, because at heart you know that its people are incapable of keeping themselves in check. I mean, politicians are some of the most hated people in society, and yet; you let them rule over you and decide for you the rules and regulations, even though you don't trust them, which really means that you trust yourself even less (to do what's right). That's why in your post-apocalypse mankind resorts to wickedness. The shackles are gone now, and you're given free rein to "do as thou wilt", and this is the result of that. So morality, you have not internalized, and the mask of righteousness, modesty and honor just withers away with the loss of an authoritative governmental body that enforces it upon you. You think that this is representative of all people in the world. But you're wrong. It's just an expression of your own reality. This level of godless anarchy is the dark side; not of humanity in general, but more specifically of your own Western worldview. You simply conflate it with "humanity". In other parts of the same world, you'd find communities carrying on with life and doing fine; I can guarantee you that. In fact, just look at Gaza right now. They're living through a type of apocalypse, but there's no police patrolling the streets at night, because people aren't looting. People aren't stealing. People aren't taking advantage of the weak. The weak are cared for, still. Their religious identity not only remains intact, but is fortified in hardship. No religious institution is enforcing that upon the people. They have internalized the religious values. And they remain hopeful. What a stark contrast indeed. That's what a different system produces. That's the kind of people who would still keep on being just, moral, righteous, after the calamity strikes. They impose it themselves, and adhere to it. They'd still cling to the religious laws and moral guidelines. Why? What's the difference? You'd find safety with them in a post-apocalyptic setting. An abode of peace, truly; whereas you would most certainly create an abode of war, as you yourselves admit in your own comments.

@@Serby665 yes that's half the reason the other half was because furiosa reminded him of his dead daughter and after this he tried to be a father to her but that was impossible because 1, he brutally killed her mother in front of her and 2 the man he once was before everything went to hell was being consumed by the brutal horrors of the wasteland.

Yesterday I watched the movie for a second time, and we were 3 - yes. THREE - visitors in the cinema! I kompletely changed my mind the last days and I now see the movie much more critically - George Miller made a horrible mistake when he killed Mary, Furiosas mother, so disgustingly and so early. Yes. I'm sure that exactly THIS also killed the movie at the box office - and probably also the whole franchise!
@Serby665

I liked the film, apart form one or two small issues, which can be present here as well. Furiosa and the mother take one to make explosions to the face, or the back, and are unfazed by them. A gas tank or rpg blowing up in your face will bother you more than a mosquito, I suspect. Also, besides Dementus, Furiosa, the mother, the other characters seem to be utterly idiotic, clueless and powerless. Finally, if Dementus' goal was to find the green space, he should have not tortured and killed the mother, but instead, he should have kept both Furiosa and the mother alive, do inhuman and unspeakable things to Furiosa for as long as possible in front of her mother. It would not have been foolproof, but this was the highest chance for the mother to crack and reveal the location, since her loyalty is above her own life and well being, but maybe, just maybe, Furiosa's life and well being might be above the mother's loyalty to the green place. If a 9-5 desk guy know this, surely a demented expert leader of a raiding party in the apocalypse knows this.

@@normturner4849 Get a clue yourself! The so called character of "max" was a bait and switch Trojan horse of plot exposition for the story of Furiosa and Immortan Joe to the point that beyond this, the character "max" was almost superfluous. And there's no way there can be any "in universe" continuity between tom hardy's simping character "max" and Mel Gibson's MAD MAX! If all George Miller wanted to do was create a post apocalyptic film about a new protagonist, then fine, more power to him!
